Chapter 2 - Ch 1. Privileges

🎶Girl, you're my angel, you're my darling angel,

Closer than my peeps you are to me, baby,

Shorty, you're my angel, you're my darling angel,

Girl, you're my friend when I'm in need, lady🎶

Ethan opened his eyes as this melody carried by the beautiful lyrics entered his ears.

His vision was blurred, courtesy of probably sleeping for too long. He sighed and rubbed his eyes as the soothing lyrics of Shaggy and Rayvon's song eased his mind.

It was really a beautiful song and one of his favorites...yet he had no memory of playing it on his phone before falling asleep.

What astounded him even more was the position he woke up in. He was sure that he had fallen asleep, lying down comfortably on his bed.

Yet somehow....he had woken up sitting upright.

'Did I start sleepwalking or something?' He groaned.

A few seconds passed as he continued rubbing his eyes, until his vision became clear. But the moment he was able to see properly, his eyes widened to the limit as confusion, shock and many other emotions settled inside them.

'Where the hell am I?' The thought was immediately followed by a flood of questions erupting inside his head.

One thing he was sure of was that this was not his room. The entire interior looked like something one would see when they sit inside a plane and that too not a normal one. It was the kind used for military operations rather than civilian travel.

His eyes then moved on to the people sitting opposite to him. Their attire was similar to that of soldiers, covered in full helmets, proper uniforms and even some kind of assault rifles in their arms.

He then looked down and froze as he saw that he was wearing the same uniform and his assault rifle lay on an empty seat to his left. Aside from the fact that he was wearing no helmet, there was no difference between his attire and theirs.

Beside him sat more soldiers facing the front, without much movement except for a rhythmic tapping of a few legs to the beat of the song playing in the background.

Just as he could try to make sense of the situation, a stream of information flooded his brain.

The volume of information was so immense that it overwhelmed Ethan, forcing him to massage his forehead with a frown on his face. The transfer process continued for a few seconds and when it finally ended, a strange tingling sensation spread through his entire body, as if ants were crawling up and down his skeleton.

It creeped him the hell out.

But within a few seconds, the creepy feeling and tingling sensation vanished, leaving him with a clear understanding of his current situation.

"Agent Hunt, everything alright?"

The sudden question pulled Ethan out of his thoughts and he looked at the guy who had asked him the question. The dude must have noticed how shifty and uncomfortable he had been during the transfer process.

"Just feeling a bit under the weather, Agent Sanders," Ethan replied.

Agent Sanders just nodded and didn't continue the conversation and Ethan was thankful for that. He was trying his best to remain calm but inside, he was totally freaking out.

And who wouldn't?

Going to sleep after a long day at work, only to wake up and find that you had transmigrated into a different world, would freak out any normal man.

Even though Ethan had read many webnovels and fanfictions about reincarnation and transmigration, it was completely a different thing when the stuff from the fiction was happening to you.

'Breath in, breath out,' He repeated in his head, as the song continued playing in the background. While trying to calm down, he picked up his ICER (assualt rifle) from the seat next to him and placed it in the similiar position in his arms as the others.

Once his heartbeat slowed to a more normal rate, he began reviewing the new information in his mind.

The world he had transmigrated in was the Marvel Universe and that too in the body of a 25 year old SHIELD agent with the same first name as his. Though the surname was different from what he had before, he liked it.

The name Ethan Hunt had a certain appeal to it, and "Agent Hunt" sounded even cooler. As for his appearance, he carried a striking resemblance to Alan Ritchson from the Reacher movie.

'Focus,' He alerted himself and went through more important details.

He was a level 7 field agent, a graduate of the SHIELD academy and also one of the youngest agents to receive such a high level clearance.

Currently he was going back to the Hub after a routine inspection of 'The Fridge', a containment facility of SHIELD.

The Fridge was SHIELD's vault which existed to secure, study, and isolate dangerous or unknown items as well as high risk individuals that could threaten global safety.

He was leading a team of ten men for the mission which was accomplished without any trouble and they were just a few minutes away from reaching the hub.

Even so, he felt uneasy. The transmigration was only part of the reason he was freaking out. The other was the year and month in which he had been dropped into this world by God knows who.

It was the month of May, 2014. The same month and year when the plot of the movie 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' would unfold.

HYDRA would reveal itself to the world and many SHIELD agents would die. Especially the ones with high level clearance.

What made him nervous was that he didn't know the exact day it would happen. It could be today, tommorow or even a few days from now. And as a agent with a sensitive identity he had to stay extremely alert or he could die at any moment.

With all this worry for his well-being and fear of dying swirling in his head, Ethan could only plan for his future from the knowledge of the Marvel movies and shows he had watched in his previous life and hope for the best.

Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by an influx of information that made him stiffen. Fortunately it didn't cause any weird or painful effects. On the contrary once the transfer was over, most of the worries in Ethan's mind vanished and a smile appeared on his face.

'Fuck yeah!' Ethan exclaimed in his mind.

He had thought that he had to struggle in this world without any help unlike the protagonists of the webnovels he had read.

But now he too had his own cheats which would help him survive and grow powerful with time.

Ethan had to stop himself with all his willpower from rejoicing like a madman, which would only make the other agents think there was something wrong with their leader's head.

After succeeding in controlling his emotions, he began going through the information that had appeared inside his head, all of it organized under a single, imposing title.

**Privileges**

1) Resurrection

When you die, your body disintegrates into light particles and vanishes. For 30 seconds after death, you exist in a post-death state where you are invisible and intangible to the physical world. During this time, you cannot interact with anything in the real world, but you may move freely and choose a respawn location nearby.

°°Once the timer ends, you reappear instantly at the selected location in a perfect physical state. All injuries, diseases, poisons, and harmful external influences are fully healed or removed upon resurrection.

2) Resurrection Points (RP)

°°You earn Resurrection Points (RP) by killing Sapient beings, but there is a strict rule: the target must be as strong as you or stronger. Killing anyone weaker yields zero points.

°°Usage: It costs 1 RP to resurrect. If you die with zero RP remaining, your death is permanent. The cost of ressurection increases with increase in your level of strength.

°°You currently possess Zero Resurrection Points (RP).

3) Special Ability: Mass Manipulation

•••Description:

°°At Level 1, the user can increase or decrease their body mass by up to 5 kilograms at will.

°°When their mass changes, their body automatically adapts to maintain full functionality. All physical attributes scale in proportion to the new mass, including durability, structural integrity, and internal stability. Bones, tendons, skin, and internal organs strengthen to support the increased density and forces, allowing natural movement without strain or imbalance.

°°The user always stays the same size. Their body does not grow bigger or smaller.

If their weight changes, it happens because their body becomes more tightly packed inside. It does not change their shape or appearance.

°°No matter how much the user increases or decreases their mass, they always have complete control over their body. Their balance, coordination, and reflexes adjust automatically to their current mass. They do not stumble or lose control when their weight changes. Their muscles and nervous system adapt instantly, so they can move and fight normally in any state.

°°The user cannot maintain the altered mass state forever. Prolonged use disrupts the user's internal balance and places stress on the body. If the user keeps it active beyond a safe limit, performance gradually decreases and strain builds up. As the ability grows stronger, the user can maintain altered mass for longer before experiencing strain.

°°Mass cannot become negative. The lowest possible mass is 0.1 kg. Any value below that is not possible. However there is no limit on the maximum amount to which the mass can be increased.

°°Mass Increase (Example 1,000 kg):

If the user increases their mass by 1,000 kg , their body becomes extremely dense and nearly impossible to push or knock back. Their punches hit like a speeding truck, capable of shattering concrete or crumpling armored vehicles, and even a stomp could crack pavement or form small craters. Their durability rises dramatically, with bullets flattening on impact and blades snapping against their skin, while automatic strength scaling allows them to move and fight normally despite the immense mass.

°°Mass Decrease (Example 0.1 kg Total Mass):

If the user reduces their mass to 0.1 kg, they become exceptionally light. They can accelerate quickly, jump to extreme heights, and descend very slowly because air resistance strongly affects them. Wind and external forces can move them more easily, but their body remains structurally protected and does not become fragile.

4) Potential

°° Resurrection Points (RP) are the primary method to increase the level of your ability and unlock its higher stages.

°° Your ability possesses limitless potential and can evolve beyond physical and conceptual boundaries.

°° Training or practice cannot directly raise your ability's level or trigger evolution. However, engaging in real combat can generate a small amount of EXP, with greater gains earned from more intense or higher-risk battles.

°° Training only improves control, precision, and efficiency over your current level, but does not increase the ability's inherent power.

°° 1 Resurrection Point= 100 Exp

5) Absolute Mind Defense & Information Panel

°°No telepath, sorcerer, cosmic being, or any entity in the entire Marvel Universe, regardless of origin, power, or authority, can read, invade, control, or damage your mind in any way.

°°You will be provided with a panel, visible only to you, to help you, track your Resurrection Points and the level of growth of your special ability.

'"Zero points. Seriously? Not even a single freaking point?' Ethan cursed as he discreetly observed his fellow agents.

There were less than five minutes left before they reached the Hub and he could only hope that nothing troublesome would happen.

'Shit,' Ethan almost facepalmed himself, realizing that he was practically raising a red flag for himself.

▓▒░ COCKPIT ░▒▓

In the cockpit, Agent Miller was sitting with a serious face and gazing at the horizon. Anytime now, the Hub would be in the sight and before that he and a few others had to finish an important job.

He had already received the go ahead from the higher ups and even though this was earlier than what they had in mind, there was no more point in letting him live any longer.

Miller let out a deep breath and then looked at the center console. His hand moved to press the mute button of the Internal Communication System of the jet.

The music inside the cabin died down instantly.

He didn't stop and hit the 'All-call' switch on the flight stick in front of him and his voice filled the cabin through the same speakers from which the song was playing earlier.

"All stations. This is flight command. We are on final approach. ETA to the hub is three minutes."

He paused for a few seconds before continuing," We're finally drifting out of the shadows of the hills and into the light of the base. Prepare for arrival."

With that he tapped the central console once again and Shaggy's song started to play in the cabin speakers at a slightly higher volume.

▓▒░ CABIN ░▒▓

After hearing the standard briefing done by Agent Miller, there wasn't much reaction from the seated agents....well except for Ethan.

The briefing might have felt normal to the other agents, but it didn't to Ethan. The 'Out of Shadows and into the light ' phrase was the one HYDRA used when it revealed itself to the world.

He had seen this phrase appear on a screen inside of 'The Bus' in Season 1 of the Agents of SHIELD.

His body tensed.

Agent Miller didn't have to say that. He could have ended the briefing by just saying ETA to the Hub being three minutes. Instead the dude added some poetic line about drifting out of shadows of hills or shit.

'Ain't nobody needed that.' Ethan thought.

Just then he noticed some weird movements from the agent sitting beside him.
