Chapter 2 - chapter 2

I decided to get out of this forest. Although I may feel better stamina-wise, I know I'm most definitely not stronger, maybe faster, but that won't help me survive in a forest for long.

I have a better chance of looking for a trail to find civilization. I look back at the completely out-of-place metal hut I woke up in one last time before I take my first step to what is probably my death.

I start walking, looking for any sign of humans or intelligent life. Luckily for me, the forest, although completely filled with trees and bamboo, isn't too crowded, so I am able to move without having to worry about getting stuck in a bush or having to find my way around trees too many times.

I continue walking for what feels like forever. When I finally make it to the edge of the forest, I run towards the treeline, hoping to see civilization, but as I rush towards it, I notice that there's a sharp drop-off.

I quickly slow down, not trying to fall off a cliff. After I take a few breaths, I get up again, looking over the edge.

A massive waterfall over to my left while below is a river with deer drinking from the water. My mouth stuck together, being as dry as the desert, my tongue unable to even salivate, only left to just imagining drinking that water.

Trees lining the other side of the river away from me, the glistening red from the apples hanging off the trees making my stomach grumble as I realize how thirsty and hungry I am, it having been unnoticed in my emotional crisis when I woke up.

But the thing that has my mouth hanging open, my eyes bulging in surprise, is the giant red dragon flying between the rock towers, its entire existence bypassing every law of physics and biology.

I heard that a dragon was physically impossible because of its giant size and weight, making flying impossible for such a creature. Seeing what I heard was physically impossible in front of me, fully cementing in my head that this isn't my Earth or maybe even Earth at all. After I managed to calm down from the hype of seeing a dragon, I try to think of what animes, manga, or TV shows have dragons.

I look at the dragon, my eyes seeing it clearly even with it being very far away. Having got over my shock and the hype of seeing a dragon, I had only one observation: it was pretty fat. Its wings were pretty short too.

It was going up and down, struggling to lift itself up into the air. It was the most depressing dragon I have ever seen It was just sad. Although it struggled to fly, it wasn't giving up, flying as majestically as it could, even if it failed.

The dragon was gliding more than actually flying, only flapping its wings to gain altitude when it started to descend too low. I looked around, searching for more dragons, but I didn't see any It was just that one.

I tried to recall any shows with dragons that looked so pathetic, but I couldn't remember any. The only ones I remembered were Frieren, Game of Thrones, and Fairy Tail, but all their dragons looked cool and majestic, nothing like the one I was seeing.

Maybe this dragon was just fat, and I was being rude comparing its entire species to him. Maybe he was just special... in his own way... Well, I should stop bullying the poor dragon, I thought, spotting a fishing dock down in the river below.

I smiled, the first sign of humans, or hopefully humans. "Now all I need to do is find a way down," I said, looking straight down. I felt my stomach grumbling with hunger. I looked over to my right, seeing the long hike down. I sighed, getting up and starting the long, hungry, and thirsty walk down.
