Chapter 12 - chapter 12- Is the God Absolute?

"Gods work, this is the God's work absolutely."

Meng Fei was so excited — how long had it been? One year? Three years? Or five years? He couldn't even remember how long it had been since he had last looked at such an 18+ novel.

He had a dysfunction that in medical terms was considered incurable, but after reading this novel, somehow he felt something stirring — he wanted to act, even though he tried to stop, he couldn't. This wasn't just a good work… what else could be called a good work if not this one?!

"Sign it — must sign it immediately." Meng Fei couldn't help clenching his fist. If such a masterpiece wasn't signed right now, he knew he would regret it for the rest of his life.

The writing skill was terrifying — it struck into people's hearts as if it were a real-life event unfolding before them. This was a technique that verged on the path of art itself.

A person who could write such a work absolutely had to be someone of Master‑Level talent. Meng Fei, with all his industry experience, had seen countless pieces — yet this… was exceptional.

He checked the author information and was immediately shocked: this work wasn't written by a seasoned master — it was by an eighteen‑year‑old high school student.

When someone so young could write with such boldness and vigor, to deliver a work like this… Meng Fei could hardly believe his eyes. He kept checking again and again until he was absolutely certain.

Because this was the author's personal information, and it had been verified through their ID card — it absolutely could not be counterfeit.

"This is absolutely a genius author — a rising star who may eventually even surpass Master Jia Zhiwei." Meng Fei couldn't contain his excitement. Without caring that it was late at night, he immediately added the author's Penguin contact ID.

Ding — the friend verification passed instantly.

"Is it connected?" Meng Fei asked eagerly as he initiated a video call with the other side. Soon, an image appeared: a young man in white casual wear, face still youthful and inexperienced.

"Are you Teacher Black Heart Wolf?" he asked cautiously.

The young man blinked, surprised that someone would call him "Teacher," but he quickly reacted. "Right, I am the author Black Heart Wolf — my real name is Xia Ping."

"That's great." Meng Fei smiled broadly. "I've read your novel and I really like it. Would you consider signing with Penguin Novel Net? I promise you — we will promote your work with the strongest resources possible and make it a runaway success."

He was confident — even someone with his industry experience was this excited after just reading the beginning. This novel not blowing up would go against all reason.

"Okay, let's sign," Xia Ping nodded. He did want to sign with Penguin Novel Net — after all, it was the largest web novel platform on all of Yan Huang Star, and if it became popular, the earnings would be greatest there.

"Great! This is the standard Penguin Novel Net contract. Every author signs the same contract — I promise it will not make Teacher Black Heart Wolf suffer a loss." Meng Fei immediately sent the contract over the network.

Now, paper contracts were a thing of the past. Everything was signed online with an ID card chip, which already had legal force.

"Alright." Xia Ping casually scanned and signed it. He had also researched Penguin Novel Net — it was indeed the biggest network novel site in the industry and had no major scandals, so it was trustworthy.

Meng Fei beamed as the contract was completed. "Teacher Black Heart Wolf — do you have any drafts saved? If you do, send them over soon. Once you reach 100,000 words, I'll arrange to recommend your work right away."

In every novel world, the same rule applied: without enough word count, few people would read it.

"I don't have saved drafts yet," Xia Ping replied, "but I can code them out quickly." He wasn't sure how much stronger his body was on Yan Huang Star compared with Earth, but his writing speed was tremendously increased — he had just tested it and could hit 20,000 characters per hour. It was almost nonhuman.

Of course, part of that was because he was basically copying what was already formed in his mind — he didn't have to think too much about the plot; he just typed it out.

"Then I'll be looking forward to the next story from Teacher Black Heart Wolf." Meng Fei said, feeling regret that there was no draft yet, because he wanted to read the rest already.

But if there was nothing to send yet, there was nothing he could do about it.

Next, they checked bank account and ID information — crucial for payments after publication — so there was no room for carelessness.

After confirming everything, they ended the call.

"Haha, finally a new 18+ novel master will be born under me." Meng Fei laughed with excitement, feeling an extraordinary sense of accomplishment as an editor.

In the novel industry, editors did have their own achievements — if you didn't bring out a few famous authors, nobody believed in your ability.

If you could cultivate a Master‑Level author, your status in the industry would rise drastically — even your salary could skyrocket, and becoming a chief editor might be possible.

But right now, Meng Fei wasn't thinking about that small matter. After finishing the novel, he felt his body stirred like a fire he hadn't felt in two years.

Since that traffic accident, his family had almost fallen apart — his wife couldn't stand him, he felt inferior, looked down upon at work, looked down upon at home… it had been miserable.

But today, he intended to revive his pride, and make that woman kneel and beg for mercy.

Meng Fei's eyes blazed with raging fire, and he sighed with emotion — this Master‑Level work had saved his life, no less than a miraculous medicine.

Thinking that, he walked toward his wife's bedroom, his whole body radiating an unprecedented self‑confidence.
