Forced to mature early by the abrupt death of his parents, Eedyot had a different outlook on life than his peers.
Sometimes he decided to just enjoy the little moments in life while at other times he was so overcome by the stress of both school life and adult life that it basically left him mentally unstable.
It was this mental instability that allowed a deity of a crumbling world to visit him, leaving him with the blueprints required to build the second part of an Interplanetary teleportation array, which teleported his whole class of 20 students to the weird scene before them.
"We greet ye travellers from another world. Saviours destined to eradicate the demon scourge of our world!!!"
A crowd of kneeling white robed individuals shouted in unison, their synchronised speech serving as a testament to the effects of countless hours of practice.
"Ha. Ha ha ha. It's real. It's actually real. I wasn't going mad. That Avulne woman was actually real. Ha hahaha."Eedyot, overcome with joy started laughing and jumping about like a madman.
"Traveller, did you- did you just mention the name of the Great Mother, Avulne?" The oldest looking priest, most probably the head priest asked, his voice trembling with barely contained excitement.
"Great Mother…, ah yes Alvune. She visited me in a dream and asked me for a favour, to save her people from certain doom, were her exact words." Eedyot just shrugged as he turned around to look at his dumbfounded classmates.
"Eedyot you orphan bastard, you sacrificed our lives because of a dream you had? Do you even hear yourself or do you not realise how mental you sound?" Brian shouted directly at Eedyot, less than an inch separating them.
"Wow, it seems like the illiterate has finally learned how to pronounce my name. Transmigration sure creates miracles." He wiped away Brian's spit with the hem of his shirt before continuing.
"Besides what do you mean by I sacrificed your lives, as if you had anything important to do. I merely wanted an audience to witness my ascension, you guys just happened to fit the bill. No hard feelings."
Returning his attention to the priests who were still kneeling, his incoming question was cut short by a hand clamped hard on his shoulder.
"Mr Sinclair I think you owe the whole class an explanation. Like for starters tell us what is going on here and… what do you mean by we are here to serve as an audience for your ascension."
Hearing the class president raise the questions that had been burning at the tips of their tongues, the class cheered in support until their voices were cut short the next instant.
"Who gave you permission to touch me?" Eedyot said in a deathly cold tone.
The next instant the seemingly docile priests had all unsheathed their blades hidden beneath their robes, their points all angling towards the class president's neck.
"NONE SHALL TOUCH THE GREAT MOTHER'S CHOSEN ONE!!!"
"Oh shit." One of the students at the back whispered while the others just quietly stared, too afraid to even gulp for fear that the priests may find the sound irritating.
"Stand down priests, I think he has learned his lesson. Now as for your questions, Mr. Jack Stevenson, I'm in a good mood so I'll humor you." Eedyot said with a smile, relishing his newfound authority.
"But first, High Priest kindly lead the way to the closest place of worship. We need to begin with the awakening soon."
"As you wish Chosen One, follow me."
The High priest then began the descent from the hill that the summoning ritual was performed on, his subordinates surrounding the travellers in a box pattern for their safety.
Finally on the move, Eedyot turned back to explain everything to his classmates but decided to take a moment to savor their expressions.
'Mmm. Eyes that once looked at me with pity and contempt now stare at me with fear and wariness. Power sure changes people.'
"Okay so where should I start from? Any suggestions anyone mmm. Oh come on I don't bite, feel free to ask me any questions you have."
Deciding to take a chance, Marcus, the dweeb rose his hand up.
"Erm–, Eedyot tell me, is there magic in this world. Like spells and stuff?"
"Why of course there's magic, I mean in case you didn't hear there are demons. How do you expect people to fight demons without magic? Silly Marcus", Eedyot said with a smile then signalled to Sasha to ask her question.
"Erm darling, when will we be able to return home?"
"Well that depends on the Goddess, Sasha. In the meantime why don't you get comfortable with this place, you might come to like it. Ah yes Mr Stevenson, can you repeat your question." Eedyot said with a calm smile.
"Thank you Mr Sinclair. Forgive me, I have two questions to ask, if you permit me of course." Jack said, adjusting his glasses.
"Permit you? Come on Jack, I'm not a tyrant or anything. You still have your free will. You can ask any number of questions you want, no need to be formal with me." Eedyot closed the gap and placed his hand on Jack's shoulder to express equality.
"Okay thank you, Eedyot. First, is it possible to shed more light on the awakening we are headed to, and second, do we have a choice on whether we want to fight these so-called demons."
"More info about the awakening huh? Well I don't really know much about since it will be the Goddess handling the process, as for whether you can opt out of fighting the demons… technically no one can force you to fight them, you have free will remember. Just don't expect to get the same treatment as those who do?"
The procession got quiet for a while, students processing their thoughts and priests keeping alert to react well to any unforseen danger when the High priest shouted, "We are here, the Temple of the Great Mother."
