Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: MURAKUMOGIRI

Arch looked at the system's user tab. His name and age were displayed there. He then looked at the Whitebeard Template, which read 80 out of 100 percent. After eight years of practicing Whitebeard's Devil Fruit, he received a significant amount of knowledge and application for this power, which greatly benefited him and caused the template to increase, finally reaching 80 percent

Once the Whitebeard template reached 80 percent, he asked the system to give him the card for Murakumogiri.

He then summoned the Murakumogiri. The description on the card stated that to summon the weapon, he needed to call its name while throwing the playing card at the same time, which he quickly applied. Arch said, "Come forth, Murakumogiri!" He then threw the

playing card above him.

The thrown playing card then transformed into a black orb. From that black orb, the tip of a blade appeared: a spherical pommel, and a large, curved blade attached to the pole with a brass bolster, decorated with a relief of a sea snake, and langets protruding onto the blade itself. Slowly, it came out from the orb, and the orb disappeared.

When the naginata was about to fall on his head, he raised his right hand and grabbed it. He looked up at the weapon and said, "It's believed that Murakumogiri has its own will and rejects unworthy users. Am I worthy of such a weapon?" he asked himself.

He then put the big weapon down using his right hand. The moment the naginata pole end was placed on the ground, KABOOM! An earthquake-like shake happened. He then looked at the weapon, sizing it up. In front of Murakumogiri, his 6.2-foot height was insignificant; this naginata, approximately 21 feet, 10 inches, was like a behemoth, yet he could lift it like it was just a branch of a tree. He could hardly believe it himself.

He then swung it downwards using only his right hand toward the boulder, and KABOOM! It left a deep cut on theboulder, almost splitting it in half. And for the very first time after eight years of struggling, he laughed the iconic laugh of Whitebeard: "GURARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARA!" He whispered, "Thank you," to the Murakumogiri beside him

The naginata felt the sincerity of his words, and the serpent on the weapon's shaft twitched slightly.

Arch then continued swinging the Murakumogiri, but not towards the boulder anymore. He turned away from the boulder. He then lifted up the Murakumogiri, sliced it downwards, sliced it upwards, swung it to the left, and swung it to the right. He kept repeating the same movements.

He halted for a second, then Arch dashed forward and swung the Murakumogiri upwards while uttering, "NAGINATA SHISHI!"

***Naginata Shishi (薙刀獅子, Naginata Shishi?, literally meaning "Halberd Lion"): Whitebeard's attack exclusive to the game Unlimited Cruise games. He dashes forward and then swings Murakumogiri upwards to send his opponent flying into the air.

Arch then changed his position for another attack. He strikes the ground in front of him with Murakumogiri, causing a small shock wave on impact. "NAGINATA SENJIN," he muttered.

This was immediately followed by:

"NAGINATA MUSO!"

He swings Murakumogiri multiple times and strikes the ground.

Arch then strikes the ground with Murakumogiri's pommel to create a small shock wave while whispering, "NAGINATA JIHIBIKI."

Arch then stepped back for a bit and said, "Eat This! IKKITOSEN!" He swung Murakumogiri, sending waves of vibrations into the distance.

For the last move, "SILENT RAGE," Arch charged his power into his hand, then punched the air, unleashing vibrations. He then attacked with his naginata several times before slicing upwards.

After performing these moves one last time, he stopped and looked at the destroyed and cratered ground where he had performed his Murakumogiri death dance.

He named the skill combination "Murakumogiri Death Dance."

Because of his flowing, long white hair and the size of the naginata, he didn't look like he was fighting at all; he looked more like he was performing a dangerous dance. With every move he made, death seemed to follow.

He looked at the naginata, then he said, "FALL BACK, Murakumogiri!"

The naginata was enveloped by a black orb, and then the black orb transformed into a playing card. Arch looked at the playing card and he burst out laughing: "GURARARARARARA!

He then turned his gaze to the massive boulder blocking his way out. "I don't need to finish you with my naginata. I started paving my path using my bare hands, and I will use my bare hands to pave my way out."

In the game's English release, the technique is called One Man Army.

Silent Rage (?): Whitebeard charges his power into his hand then punches the opponent smashing them into the ground unleashing vibrations, then attacks the opponent with his naginata several times before flinging the opponent into the air. Finally, pulling back his arm, he charges a Kaishin which he hits the opponent with at point blank in mid-air as they are falling back to the ground. This technique is Whitebeard's Ultimate attack/Super move in One Piece: Burning Blood
