Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Obtaining the Scarlet Eyes Again

Luo Ning was a bit confused. Raymond clearly held the highest status in the mafia and even had Nen users under his command. Why didn't he ever try to understand this power, let alone learn it? If he had tried, at the very least, he wouldn't have died today without even knowing what shot him.

Forming a cross-shaped seal with his hands, a Shadow Clone appeared and immediately transformed into Raymond's appearance using the Transformation Technique. He walked over, took the gun from the holster on the corpse's waist, and casually fired a shot into the head of the Mole—who was still trapped in a Sharingan Genjutsu on the floor—putting an end to his struggles. He then took the communication device from the original's hand, put it on his ear, and walked toward the door.

Just then, the door was kicked open by mafia members due to the sound of gunfire inside. Mafia members armed with guns rushed into the room, only to see a charred corpse on the ground and the corpse of the Mole with a bullet in his head. The charred body belonged to Raymond; before the mafia members burst in, Luo Ning's original body had used the Great Fireball Technique to scorch Raymond's remains. Now, the Raymond on the ground was the assassin who had killed the Mole!

"Take the bodies out," the Shadow Clone ordered expressionlessly, while he walked toward the bar in the room and poured himself a glass of cola.

Meanwhile, Luo Ning's original body had reappeared outside the room and was flying toward the hotel's rooftop. Kurapika and Neon Nostrade were both there. Kurapika was wearing a communication device in his ear, allowing him to stay in contact with the Shadow Clone below at all times.

"My Puppet Technique still requires me to be close by, so it's not as convenient as using a Shadow Clone paired with the Transformation Technique. The only downside is the time limit, but as long as I can successfully bring my original body and you two inside, everything else will be easy to handle," Luo Ning made an 'OK' gesture to Kurapika.

Shortly after, Luo Ning's original body, along with Kurapika and Neon Nostrade, appeared in Room 1801. Raymond held a supreme status within the mafia; his orders were absolute, and no one dared to disobey him. Using Raymond's identity combined with Luo Ning and the others' strength, controlling the mafia wouldn't be difficult—it would just take some time. However, Luo Ning didn't need to worry about these matters; he could leave it all to Kurapika.

"I need some professionals to assist me." Kurapika pulled out a business card. The name on the card was very familiar to Luo Ning: it was his star agent, Milia! During the months he spent training, he had found the time to return to Heaven's Arena. After all, challengers on the 200th floor had a 90-day preparation period; if they exceeded that period without a match, they would lose their qualification. Luo Ning had snuck back once and finished his match in just two days. With such speed, there was naturally no large-scale publicity, giving the Phantom Troupe no chance to intercept him at Heaven's Arena.

Additionally, he and Milia had an agreement: if he could truly control the mafia under the Ten Community Leaders, Milia would provide him with technical support. Her influence at Heaven's Arena was immense. She possessed a vast network of connections; assisting Kurapika in taking control of the mafia would not be difficult for her.

Luo Ning, acting like a hands-off boss, sat on the sofa playing video games with Neon Nostrade. It was already 5:30 PM, and his training for the day had ended; now was his time to relax.

"Speaking of which, there should be another underground auction tomorrow night, and there's another pair of Scarlet Eyes on the auction catalog this time. What do you plan to do?" Luo Ning asked while playing.

"Move them in advance," Kurapika said calmly. "I also need you to take Owl along."

"I helped too, you know!" Neon Nostrade bragged. After taking over Raymond's position, the first thing Kurapika did was find the files of the mafia members scheduled to attend the auction that evening and give them to Neon Nostrade. Neon Nostrade performed fortunes for these people. Without exception, the results indicated that if they attended tomorrow's auction, they would certainly die! Therefore, Kurapika used Raymond's identity to contact the Ten Community Leaders and requested that the collection for tomorrow be moved.

"Right now?" Luo Ning dropped the controller and stood up.

"Yeah, bring back both pairs of Scarlet Eyes at once!" Kurapika said. The identity of the Ten Community Leaders was very useful; for just two pairs of Scarlet Eyes, he had the full authority to take them directly. He wouldn't give these two auction items any chance to even appear on the auction block!

"Alright, I'll head over now." Luo Ning walked straight to the window.

"Be careful. Members of the Phantom Troupe might be scouting the location early, especially since the underground auction just experienced a robbery last night," Kurapika added. "Don't fly there this time. I've arranged a car; you'll go along with the mafia members."

Luo Ning instantly understood Kurapika's meaning. Owl's ability hadn't been exposed yet. As long as he used a disguise to enter the building, even if the Phantom Troupe were scouting and observing early, they wouldn't realize that the goods had all been moved in advance!

Tomorrow's auction would still be held at the Cemetery Building. It was a provocation from the Ten Community Leaders toward the Phantom Troupe—if they had the guts, those guys could try to rob it again tomorrow night. However, to this day, no one knew that the person who had truly stolen that batch of goods wasn't the Phantom Troupe at all, but Luo Ning!

Luo Ning took the elevator down to the underground parking lot, where a car and mafia members who had been waiting for a long time were ready. The car easily drove into the parking lot of the Cemetery Building. Luo Ning disguised himself as Owl and then walked grandly into the presence of the treasures that had been brought back and stockpiled in the vault.

Owl was released. A large wrapping cloth easily bundled up all the treasures in the vault except for those two pairs of Scarlet Eyes. Tucking the small bundle into his pocket, Luo Ning also collected the two pairs of Scarlet Eyes before turning to leave.

Throughout the entire process, even the people responsible for guarding the vault didn't know exactly what had happened inside. They only knew that a young man wearing round sunglasses and flip-flops had entered the vault once, and then the vault was completely sealed off; orders from above dictated that it could not be opened again until the day of the auction.

Those responsible for observing the situation at the Cemetery Building were Shalnark, Kortopi, and Bonolenov Ndongo. Bonolenov Ndongo had previously used his ability to disguise himself and enter the Cemetery Building, where he left many promotional posters copied by Kortopi. These posters acted as Kortopi's eyes because he could activate his En through them at any time to investigate the surroundings. These posters were primarily placed near the vault.

However, when Luo Ning left, Kortopi, who was outside the building, didn't notice anything unusual.
