Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Framing and Confrontation

Uvogin's aura boiled over the moment he saw "Franklin."

Coming here today, they had already concluded they would find clues regarding Luo Ning. After all, Luo Ning would never give up on the Scarlet Eyes. However, they never expected that Luo Ning would be bold enough to target the entire auction's collection, seemingly even planning to pin the robbery on the Phantom Troupe.

How the opponent had disguised himself was no longer important. The reality was that they had been framed, and it was now a mess that was impossible to explain away.

Of course, Uvogin had no intention of explaining.

His figure erupted through the hail of bullets, appearing instantly in front of Luo Ning's clone. A massive fist, carrying supreme power, smashed down heavily.

Boom!

A deep crater instantly formed in the ground, but Luo Ning's figure had already dodged to the rear.

A location name was whispered into Uvogin's ear as the shadow clone's lips moved.

The shadow clone raised a single hand. Instead of using his signature Ninjutsu, he gathered Nen toward his fingertips, forming Nen bullets that fired continuously. In that moment, he really did bear a resemblance to Franklin.

However, those Nen bullets were weak and powerless. When they struck Uvogin, they caused no damage at all, only serving to fuel his rage.

Luo Ning's Nen bullets were merely a clumsy imitation of Franklin's technique, copied using the Sharingan the last time they met, so their power was naturally limited. In fact, he had never even considered developing Emission-type abilities himself.

The Mafia's bullets only flew toward Uvogin's trio, completely avoiding Luo Ning's shadow clone. It wasn't that they wanted to spare Luo Ning, but rather that he was still carrying the precious auction items. Orders had been handed down from the upper brass: do not damage the important goods.

As a result, several confident, burly men from the Mafia stepped forward. Clenching their fists and unable to see the existence of Nen, they walked toward the battlefield as if they intended to beat both men to death.

But before they could even get close, those Nen bullets—which were harmless to Uvogin—struck them.

Amidst splashing blood and flesh, these Mafia members didn't even know what had happened before they collapsed to the ground, screaming. The bloody scene caused the surrounding Mafia members to retreat in succession.

Machi and Nobunaga took the opportunity to launch a pincer attack on Luo Ning. After what had happened at the Arena, they weren't going to give Luo Ning another chance to duel Uvogin one-on-one. Even if the current Luo Ning hadn't rented Nen from Milia, they weren't prepared to take that risk.

Meanwhile, several other Troupe members were active within the building. They ran quickly toward the upper floors, attempting to find Luo Ning's original body, which might still be hiding inside. Some members were also searching outside the building, all based on Shalnark's judgment that the original could not be too far from the clone.

However, Luo Ning's original body had already ascended into the air above the Cemeteri Building and was gradually flying away.

As for the shadow clone, as long as it didn't suffer an attack beyond its endurance limit, it would persist until the energy within its body was exhausted.

The shadow clone used the Transformation Jutsu for its disguise, but its eyes remained in the Sharingan state. The three-tomoe Sharingan allowed him to see everyone's attack trajectories clearly.

He suddenly hurled the backpack behind him high into the air, and the auction items inside scattered instantly. Simultaneously, having shed his burden, the Luo Ning clone showcased his powerful physical combat skills.

A swung fist collided with Uvogin's Big Bang Impact, and the nearly identical force caused both to recoil. This retreat allowed Luo Ning to dodge Nobunaga's slash, and his body twisted like it was boneless to avoid the pull of the Nen threads between Machi's hands.

Stabilizing his footing, Luo Ning made a finger-gun gesture.

"Bang!"

Actual Nen bullets erupted from his fingertips in an instant. This was Sidney's most classic move, which he had seen during their battle at Heaven's Arena.

The Nen bullets were aimed at Machi.

But before they could reach her, the bullets were sliced apart in mid-air by thin threads.

Luo Ning kicked off the ground. While Machi was blocking the Nen bullets, he lunged to her side. His fist, wrapped in Nen, erupted with the same attack style as the Big Bang Impact.

Boom!

Machi crossed her arms in front of her to block. The massive force sent her flying, and she felt a numbing sensation spreading through her forearms.

'A monster!'

But Machi also saw a long blade and an iron fist approaching Luo Ning at the same moment she was knocked back.

The Sharingan's superior perception allowed Luo Ning to formulate a response instantly. With one hand, he swept at his waist, pulling out a dagger to parry the incoming blade. At the same time, he raised a heavy foot and kicked directly at the charging Uvogin's chest.

The moment the dagger touched the long blade, it snapped, and the blade cut into Luo Ning's body. The heavy kick struck Uvogin's solar plexus, but Uvogin's fist also smashed into Luo Ning.

The shadow clone finally reached its limit and dispersed into a cloud of smoke.

Uvogin retreated several steps, his expression grim. The footprint on the chest of his suit, in particular, made him exceptionally furious.

"He slipped away again," Nobunaga said, sheathing his sword.

The opponent's mastery of physical combat had clearly improved significantly; it was night and day compared to a few months ago at Heaven's Arena.

"Contact the Leader and ask," Machi said, rubbing her arm, which had already started to turn red.

It was Uvogin's Big Bang Impact style, and the fact that he could execute it with power similar to Uvogin's proved his mastery of the Enhancement category was very high. It seemed the opponent's Specialization ability was indeed one of those rare types that skewed toward the upper three categories.

"We didn't find him," Chrollo's voice came through the phone. "But witnesses saw someone go upstairs and leave through a window. I found an open window on the fifth floor. Feitan, Phinks, and Bonolenov have already given chase."

On the other side, Luo Ning had landed on the roof of another nearby skyscraper. Kurapika and Neon were both there.

"I observed members of the Troupe inside the Cemeteri Building. It looks like they've almost all come out," Kurapika said quickly as he took the large backpack from Luo Ning.

They had booked a room on the 15th floor, and from there, they could see the situation at the Cemeteri Building perfectly using binoculars.

"Also, near the window where you jumped, several others jumped out as well and are tracking your trail on the ground. The marks you left on purpose should come in handy," Neon added her observation.

"I already told Uvogin the location, but I'm not sure if they'll come, or how many people will show up," Luo Ning shared his own findings.

When the shadow clone vanished, all its experiences were fed back to the original body. However, Uvogin had been tricked so many times; would he really fall for it again and come to the meeting alone?

"Let's give it a try," Kurapika said with confidence. "If he's brainless enough to come by himself, or if the Troupe thinks this is an opportunity and sends him as bait, we can take the chance to finish him off first."
