Chapter 98 - Chapter 98

I spoke in a calm voice, keeping my tone steady and measured so it wouldn't sound pressuring or make Yaeko more nervous. "Even though there are several types of energy in this world besides Cursed Energy, I'll only explain Cursed Energy, because for now, it's the only type I can use."

I paused briefly, letting a short silence hang between us. My gaze remained fixed on Yaeko, making sure she didn't lose focus, before I continued in the same relaxed tone.

"Maybe in the future I'll be able to use Mana Energy, Ki Energy, or other types of energy," I added lightly, my shoulders lifting slightly as if it were just a casual possibility. "However, in Japan, Cursed Energy can be considered the most dominant compared to other countries. So understanding just this is enough for now."

I carefully observed Yaeko's expression. Her brows were slightly furrowed, her eyes didn't leave me, and her breathing seemed slower than before. She was trying to understand, even though it was clear there was still some confusion left.

"Every ordinary human has Cursed Energy," I said, slightly raising my hand, a small gesture but enough to emphasize that important point. "However, this Cursed Energy always leaks out unconsciously. It happens naturally, like something ordinary humans can't stop."

My hand slowly lowered again, my movement smooth and unhurried. "That's why most people never realize the existence of Cursed Energy, even though they've had it since birth."

I paused for a moment, then added in a slightly deeper tone, "Cursed Energy comes from negative human emotions. Fear, anxiety, anger, regret—all of those produce energy. But without control, that energy will just keep leaking and disappear."

"However, there are certain people called Jujutsu Sorcerers," I continued, my voice still calm but now slightly firmer. "They are humans who can control that Cursed Energy so it doesn't leak, and then use it to create certain abilities."

I tilted my head slightly, looking deeper at Yaeko. "Those abilities can be used for many things, from survival, protecting others, to dealing with things that ordinary humans cannot see."

Yaeko was still silent, but her expression showed that she was starting to connect one explanation to another, even though she hadn't fully understood everything yet.

"Jujutsu Sorcerers themselves are divided into two types," I said again, keeping the flow of the explanation neat and easy to follow. "The first are official Jujutsu Sorcerers. They are under an organization called the Jujutsu Headquarters, which can be said to be a structure under the supervision of the Japanese government."

"They have an organized system, clear rules, and specific duties they must carry out," I added calmly. "Everything they do usually has a defined purpose."

"The second are Curse Users," I said slowly, my tone shifting slightly, becoming colder yet still controlled. "They are Jujutsu Sorcerers who do not join the official side and choose to walk their own path."

I crossed my arms in front of my chest, staring at Yaeko without blinking. "There are no rules binding them. No supervision. They are free to do whatever they want."

"Most of them do illegal things, or at least act beyond what should be acceptable," I continued calmly, without excessive dramatization.

I then looked at Yaeko more deeply, making sure she truly understood this part before I went any further.

"This shop will accept any customer, even if they are a Curse User," I said in a steady tone, but this time it felt firmer, leaving no room for argument. My gaze was directed straight at Yaeko, showing that this decision was absolute.

I could see a slight change in Yaeko's expression, so I immediately continued before she had the chance to interrupt.

"Don't worry," I said in a lighter tone, trying to ease any tension that might arise. "If there are Curse Users who try to use the Cursed Tools I create to do things that are too extreme, then they won't be able to use those Cursed Tools."

I gave a small shrug, as if it were something certain and not worth questioning.

"There are restrictions that I've already embedded," I added briefly, my voice remaining steady.

"No matter who comes to buy," I continued calmly, "as long as they can pay, just serve them as usual."

My tone stayed relaxed, not changing in the slightest, as if the policy I had just explained wasn't something up for debate, but something that had been obvious from the very beginning. The way I spoke showed no hesitation, not even the slightest pause between my sentences.

"Even if they can't afford it, or if they try to cause trouble," I continued again, this time in a slightly flatter tone, yet still calm, "you don't need to worry."

I tilted my chin toward the front of the shop, giving a subtle signal without directly pointing. The movement was small, but clear enough to direct attention. "Near the entrance, there are two dolls shaped like samurai. Those aren't just decorations."

Yaeko reflexively followed my gaze. Her head turned slightly, and her eyes immediately focused on the two dolls standing on a wooden table near the entrance. From a distance, they really did look like ordinary decorations—neatly carved, with fine details on their armor, and a straight, symmetrical stance.

But if one looked a little longer, something felt off. The atmosphere around the two dolls seemed slightly different, as if the air around them was heavier, quieter, and somehow carried an uncomfortable feeling that was difficult to explain.

"They are Cursed Tools that function as security guardians," I added calmly, as if explaining something completely ordinary. I continued without giving a long pause.

"If any customer tries to cause trouble, they will be expelled immediately," I said, my tone still flat, without excess emotion. "In some cases, they will even be forced to hand over money as compensation before being thrown out, without receiving anything from this shop."

I looked back at Yaeko, making sure she truly understood what I had just said. There was no threat in my voice, but the clarity of each word was enough to make my meaning feel real.

"Besides," I continued, placing slight emphasis on the next sentence, "this entire shop is actually a single Cursed Tool."

I let that sentence hang in the air for a few seconds. There was no immediate explanation, as if I deliberately gave her time to process the meaning behind that statement.

"So you don't need to worry about your safety," I continued afterward, my tone still steady. "Even if someone tries to attack from the outside, this place will protect itself."

I gave a small nod, a simple gesture indicating that my explanation was finished. "That's all you need to know."

After that, the atmosphere fell silent again. This silence felt deeper than before, as if all the words I had just spoken were still lingering in the room.

Yaeko didn't respond right away. In fact, she seemed completely frozen in place. I could see her mouth slightly open, her eyes widened, and her breath seemingly held, as if her body had forgotten how to react normally.

It was as if she wanted to say something, but didn't know where to begin. Her shocked expression was clearly visible now, impossible to hide, even if she tried.

The hands resting on her lap slowly began to tighten. Her fingers intertwined, pressing against each other, as if she were trying to restrain something unstable within herself—whether it was anxiety, confusion, or perhaps a fear that was slowly beginning to surface.
