Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 : A New Storm Brewing

He ran to her shouting her name, hugged her, and said, "I missed you so much, I thought I wouldn't see you again." She was surprised and said, "We just met yesterday, no? Did you miss me that much?" But the boy hadn't seen her for three days. He was starting to get an idea about what was happening.

He had a quiet place he went to whenever he felt overwhelmed. He told Mai, "See you later," and left without saying another word. Mai was confused and concerned, so she followed him. She found him sitting on top of the hill, looking at the sunset. She quietly sat next to him and said, "I'm not going to ask anything. I know you're going through a hard time, but remember that I'm always by your side."

Her words made his heart feel warm. He thanked her and said, "What I'm going to tell you will be really hard to believe, but I want you to hear it out." Then he explained the whole situation he was going through. After he explained it, she didn't ask a single question. She just stood up and simply told him to meet her tomorrow by the mythic tree, said goodbye, and left.

He felt like he had put a lot of pressure on her shoulders. Later, after he went home, he realized that this couple and the old man living in the house were his grandpa's family. He figured out that every time he made a wish, he traveled through time to meet Mai because she was the only person who made him happy.

Some time passed, and then a very dangerous thought occurred to him:

"If I'm stuck here… doesn't that mean the guy who owns this body—my grandpa—is stuck in mine?"

That overwhelming thought took over his mind, and then another thing struck him: he still hadn't returned to his own body. Normally, by this time, he would have returned. He thought he would sleep, and when he woke up, he would be in his body again.

But when he woke up the next day, he was still in his grandpa's body. He started to panic, and then he remembered that Mai told him to meet her at the wishing tree. He quickly got dressed and ran as fast as he could to meet her.

When he reached the wishing tree, Mai was already there. She asked, "What took you so long?" He was embarrassed and apologized. She then asked why it took him so long to realize he was stuck in his grandpa's body. The boy said that it might have something to do with his grandpa and him being identical at this age.

He also told her that usually he would be back in his own body by now, and it might have something to do with the wish he made. She asked what the wish was. He blushed and told her the wish. She replied, "Ahh, did you miss me that much? Don't worry, you'll find a girl like me in the future."

The boy was sad and asked her, "Why don't you come with me?" She replied, "I'm not your girlfriend, you know that, right? And I'm in love with the owner of this body. I'm just helping you get him back." The boy nodded sadly and said, "Okay…"

Then they both made a promise to each other to reverse this mess. Mai asked the boy to try wishing to go back. The boy agreed and wished, "Please take me back." But nothing happened. She told him to try again.

The boy wished again, "Please, please take me back to my body." Still, nothing happened. Then he remembered it always happened during a lightning storm. He asked the girl, "When will the next storm come?"
