Chapter 1: The Library Encounter
"Glendon, hurry and arrange the books by publication date."
"Yes, ma'am."
The command echoed across the quiet university library, and Glendon, the young orphan with eyes that carried more mystery than warmth, obeyed. Though she had not yet felt truly loved, she had cherished the scholarship she'd been granted. She vowed to study harder than anyone, dreaming of wealth while simultaneously deeming work unnecessary—just as she often told herself.
She immersed herself in sorting the books, lifting her gaze higher and higher. Suddenly, she furrowed her brow, noticing the click of a camera. Her eyes landed on a tall man standing before her, a camera in hand.
"Excuse me, sir,"
she said, her voice tinged with irritation.
"Did you just take a picture of me?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because you're… captivating."
Glendon froze, startled by the strange man's words. As she observed him, she realized his tall frame, formal attire, and piercing blue-gray eyes seemed strangely familiar. Could it be her art professor? Kaiden Mozurova?.
