Chapter 119 - Destiny?

Negotiating with the merchants was by no means easy, even though he had seen the products on display, such as the cologne, which was all the rage.

On the table, small bottles stood in a row, some open, releasing a faint scent that contrasted with the room's more subdued atmosphere.

And the merchants, greedy as they were, wanted a big slice of the pie. Because, of course, Adam was fully aware of just how valuable it was; the thousands of gold coins he had earned in just a few months were proof of that.

A few leather bags lay to one side, heavy enough to keep them firmly in place on the surface.

And he wasn't going to let some merchants get a piece of the pie that only he, his mother-in-law, and his mother enjoyed. It was something he had achieved in this life, and he wasn't going to let anyone take a share of it unless he wanted them to.

Among the documents, some were partially covered with neatly written notes and figures.
