Kelvin slowly turned around.
For a brief moment, he stared at Fred without saying anything. Then he noticed the brown envelope being held out toward him.
He exhaled sharply.
Somehow, he had assumed Adams might have forgotten about the package. Perhaps that was why the driver had remained so calm throughout the journey.
Kelvin stretched out his hand and accepted the envelope.
It had been sealed tightly.
He turned it over in his hands, inspecting it from every angle. There was no name written across it, no explanation of what was inside, and no indication of who had sent it.
His brows slowly knitted together.
Is it possible this contains illegal drugs?
He felt the package again, trying to determine what was inside.
Seeing his suspicious expression, Fred's lips curled into an amused smile.
"You don't have to be so careful," he said. "We don't deal in drugs without consent. We aren't trying to get our guest killed."
Kelvin's jaw twitched at the strange choice of words.
