Takuya was full of spirit to become an anti hero, but it only lasted a few minutes. He was quickly forced to face reality that he was weak.
Takuya walked along the streets of the capital city. He saw people wearing medieval style clothes, except for some who wore fantasy like outfits with magic staffs, shields, large swords, riding magical beasts, and others.
Takuya scratched his head. He was confused about what he should do. Right now, he was just walking without any goal at all. The smell of food entered his nose. His stomach growled, but there was nothing he could do about it. He was poor. There was not a single coin in his pocket.
"Damn it, they did not even give me money. Is this not too much? That bitch woman and that stupid king really went too far. If only I were strong..." Takuya did not continue his words.
He opened his status screen. There was truly no other skill besides the gacha skill. He had already tried to use magic. He tried to flow mana into his hands or anything else, but nothing worked. He had no affinity with magic at all right now.
Takuya let out a long sigh. He stared at the sky. "What is my real purpose of being summoned to this world? Is it just to become a loser?" he complained.
Takuya clicked his tongue in annoyance again. He did not even know how many times he had done that in a single day. Without realizing it, the day turned into evening, and he had no place to sleep. Staying at an inn was impossible.
Suddenly, Takuya had an idea. "What if I sell all my clothes? These are clothes from another world, right? They should be unique here."
He nodded. He felt like a genius for coming up with that idea. He immediately went to a clothing shop and tried to offer the clothes he was wearing. But instead of getting coins, Takuya was considered crazy and was thrown out of the shop.
"So modern world clothes are not interesting to them. This makes no sense," he complained.
Takuya stood up. He cleaned his clothes and started walking again. His stomach growled again, but he did not know what he should eat. Takuya turned his head in one direction. He stared blankly toward that side.
"I have to eat or I will starve to death."
He then walked forward with determination. His whole body started trembling from lack of energy. Takuya was going to the forest to hunt animals he could catch, like small animals.
He knew this was risky because there was a chance dangerous beasts would appear. But he had no choice. This was the only thing he could do. If he did not eat, he would die. If he went to the forest, he might die by being attacked by monsters.
Takuya felt that no matter what he chose, the end would be the same. He would die. Of course, he did not want that to happen.
"Eating grass? No. No, I will not do something that crazy."
Takuya's stomach growled again. He made his decision.
"Alright. Die for food or die from starvation."
**
"Aaarrgh!" Takuya screamed.
Sharp claws tore into his shoulder. His body was thrown away and slammed hard into the ground. Blood dripped from his wound, his breathing became unstable. His vision started to blur. He had only been in the forest for five minutes. Instead of meeting rabbits or harmless animals, Takuya was greeted by a vicious magical beast.
In front of him stood several Magical Wolves with black fangs. Their fur was dark gray with electric blue lines on their bodies. Their eyes glowed faintly like magic stones, and hot air came out of their mouths every time they breathed. These creatures were not normal wolves.
Takuya clearly read the monster name above their heads.
[Shadowfang Lv. 25]
"Are you serious?" Takuya hissed while trembling. "I just entered the forest and I am attacked by a level 25 monster. Does the Goddess really want me to die?"
Takuya jumped backward. He avoided the Shadowfang's attack. He found an opening and threw a strong punch toward the Shadowfang.
POPH!
The punch did not injure the Shadowfang at all. Instead, the beast raised its paw. Takuya was immediately slashed by Shadowfang. His body was thrown again and crashed into a large tree. He was in pain. He felt like one of his bones had cracked.
"Damn it. Why am I so unlucky?" he complained.
When he followed Seraphina and the others before, they only found magical beasts or monsters after going deeper into the forest. Near the edge, there was nothing like this. But when he went alone, it turned out like this.
And this was the same forest.
When Takuya tried to stand up, his legs were hard to move. His shoulder was bleeding. His breathing was heavy. He could only stare at the Shadowfang that slowly stepped toward him. The Shadowfang was ready to deliver the final attack and end Takuya's life.
"Am I going to die here?" he muttered. "I have not even gotten a single skill yet… and I am already going to die. Damn you, Goddess of Gacha!" Takuya cursed.
The Shadowfang slightly raised its head. Suddenly, its ears twitched, as if it heard something from afar. It growled, then for no clear reason, the beast turned around and ran away. It moved as if it was afraid of something.
One step, two steps, then it dashed away, disappearing behind the trees as fast as a shadow dragged by the night wind.
Takuya was stunned. He gave a small smile.
"I survived," he said softly.
Takuya felt relieved. He closed his eyes. He tried to calm his breathing and forced himself to stand and return to the city, but he fell again. His legs were weak as if they had no strength left. His stomach growled again.
His eyes felt heavy. His body trembled, cold sweat covered his face. His breathing was unstable. His chest felt tight. He had truly reached his limit.
"Ah, in the end I am still going to die. Damn it."
Slowly, his eyes began to close. Everything became blurry, and finally, he lost consciousness.
Alone.
Helpless.

[UNLIMITED GACHA UNLOCKED. 1x Daily Draw Available]
[Would you like to pull now?]
[Yes. No.]
Takuya was half conscious when he saw the notification. Without thinking, he pressed [Yes]. Light appeared, but he did not really care. His body was exhausted, cold, and weak from the wounds that were getting worse. When the light began to fade, Takuya saw something strange.
"Does that look like a human?"
He dismissed his own words and closed his eyes again. He fell asleep once more, hoping that after today, he would still be alive and could get a satisfying result. Takuya hoped his gacha this time would be interesting.
"At least give me a small bodied Elf girl," Takuya said before he fell asleep.
[Congratulations! You have summoned: Maid Girl.]
