Chapter 28 - Chapter 27 : Heavier Than Stone

The stone fell into her hand… Heavier than it should have been. Its weight did not come from its substance, But from the name held within it, carved without inscription:

Atsuro.

Lilithia stood at the center of the courtyard, its clamor finally gone, But the world— The world was empty. She slowly lifted her head.

The shadows… They were moving. No sound. No warning. Only the sense that something had not yet left.

From within the dark rupture, Kaguchi emerged. He did not turn toward her at first. He carried Tsukishiro's body in his arms, Heavy. Broken.

As if the man who had been laughing moments ago Had become nothing more than excess weight upon the world.

He took a single step forward.

Only then, Did Lilithia speak. Her voice was not a scream. It was sharp. Angry. Broken. Yet steady enough to wound.

"Kaguchi… I will kill you."

She raised her sword. Her entire body trembled not from fear, But from the emptiness left behind When rage found nothing left to consume.

Kaguchi stopped. No surprise. No emotion. He turned toward her slowly, a faint smile forming, Cold.

"No."

A single word. Calm.

"I will not kill you now."

He tightened his grip around Tsukishiro's body And continued, in a tone closer to reminder than threat:

"We still need you… In the game."

Lilithia stepped forward in desperation, Her weapon rising, Her breath catching, But the shadows moved before she did.

They stretched, Coiling around Kaguchi, Around the body he carried, As if swallowing all trace of their existence from the world.

And before the features vanished completely, He spoke in a low voice, Reaching her like a delayed echo:

"Learn to hate this world well. You will need it later."

Then, He vanished.

Lilithia screamed.

"Not now… don't run away."

Silence fell. It fell with her.

Her knees struck the ground, Her sword slipped from her hand. She looked at the stone in her palms. It did not cry. It did not pulse. It did not comfort her.

"Damn… damn it."

She pressed the stone to her chest, Her body curling around it, As if trying to protect something That was already beyond saving.

The tears Did not come at once. She did not rise. She lifted her hand slowly… Then stopped.

She stared at her fingers. They were clean. Free of blood.

She laughed. A short, hoarse laugh, Breaking halfway through.

"I did nothing…"

She said it to herself, But the words came out like a confession Before an unseen court.

"I was here… I saw him… I heard him…"

Her voice trembled.

"And yet… I chose to be late."

She bent forward, Her forehead touching the cold ground, Her hair falling around her face Like a curtain that concealed nothing.

"I was useless…"

She whispered.

"All I did was scream… I couldn't even hurt him."

She stopped.

"Atsuro… you were the only one who stood by me, The only one who believed me When all the evidence was against me."

Then, in a lower voice, A voice that barely existed:

"But when you needed me… I was nothing."

Her body trembled.

"If I had been faster… If I hadn't hesitated… If I had been stronger…"

She lifted her head suddenly, Her eyes filled with something harsher than tears.

"If I had been worthy of my name you wouldn't have died."

The tears finally fell. She cried the way a deep wound bleeds. She pressed the stone tightly to her chest, As if trying to stop it From drifting any farther away.

"Forgive me…"

She said it once. Then again. Then her voice collapsed completely.

"Forgive me for being too weak… To protect you…"

A sob tore free from her against her will, Ripping through the courtyard's silence.

"You trusted me… You looked at me As if I could do the impossible…"

She smiled a broken smile, Empty of all warmth.

"And I… I couldn't even save you. I was selfish… I thought only of myself."

She fell onto her side, Cradling the stone as one cradles a dead child, Her body shrinking with every breath.

"I will not forget this…"

She whispered, Her eyes fixed on the void.

"I will not forget this moment As long as I live."

And the sorrow Did not fade. It settled. She screamed. She dropped to her knees,

Then , Struck the ground with her hand. One strike.

"Damn…!"

She struck again. Harder.

"Damn you..!!!!!!!! Kaguchi!"

A deeper crack. Stone shattered. The ground offered no resistance. She struck a third time, Her voice tearing apart:

"Damn all sorcerers!!!! Damn you…!!!!"

Her scream rose Hoarse, Broken, Yet filled with hatred. She lifted her head. Her eyes were red, Distorted by tears and rage.

"How I hate you all, you scum…!"

Her breathing was frantic, Her chest rising and falling violently. She struck the ground again, But this time With everything she had.

"You took his life…!"

Her voice faltered for a moment, Then returned Harsher.

"And left me alive… To see… To remember…!"

She clenched her fingers Until blood flowed from her palm.

"I swear… I swear I will kill them all."

The words came slowly, But they were heavier than swords. She rose suddenly. Her final scream Tore through the air:

"I WILL ERASE THEM!"

Silence.

A heavy silence. Terrifying.

Then she lowered her voice And it was deadlier than any scream.

"And you…"

She looked at the stone in her hand, Her eyes trembling.

"Atsuro…"

His name left her lips Like an open wound. She slammed the stone against her chest.

"I swear by your blood…"

Her voice fractured, But did not retreat.

"Your death will not be in vain."

She lifted her head, Tears falling without sound.

"I will avenge you…"

Then she whispered, As if addressing the entire world:

"Even if I must Shatter this world Stone… By stone."

_

As for the Kingdom of the Drakhaen,...

A sudden severance. As if the world itself Had been cut from its pulse.

 The voice of the system.

[System Announcement — Kingdom of the Drakhaen]

<< A cosmic notice issued by the Kingdom of Drachin's system

Entity: Atsuro Kanami

Status: Deceased

Cause: Bankruptcy of fate — complete exhaustion of probability potential

Classification: Irreversible event

All return paths have been sealed. >>

The voice carried no tone. No mercy.

In the plazas, Soldiers froze in place. Swords slipped from trembling hands. Banners bowed not to the wind, But to the weight of the news.

In the camps: Soldiers knelt in silence.

In the cities: Those who had never known Atsuro personally Felt something torn from their chests. As if probability itself had died.

No screams. No immediate tears. Only Collective shock. And a silence heavier than war.

One of the commanders, Daemon, Was standing. The moment the announcement ended He tried to laugh. A short laugh. Broken.

"…Impossible."

He said it to no one, As if waiting for the world to correct him. He took a step forward. Then stopped.

His knees gave out. His hands trembled. And for the first time in his life… He could not lift his head.

He remembered his voice. His sarcasm. His foolish stubbornness.

"I told you not to use it…"

A whisper that came too late. Useless. Unheard.Daemon fell to his knees. Not as a commander. Not as a warrior.

But as a man Who had waited far too long To say:

"Stay."

_

As for Commander Mirei, She did not move. Her eyes remained open… But their focus shattered.

She understood at once. Not "dead."

But Finished.

No hidden path. No temporal reversal. No missing condition. Probability had closed. She placed a hand on her chest, As if confirming her heart was still beating.

Then she spoke, her voice calm Terrifying in its steadiness:

"The world… has grown poorer."

She paused.

"And what comes next… Will spare no one."

_

In a depth unreachable by light… The Black Dragon opened its eye.

A single pulse Swept through the void. The shadow expanded. The sky in more than one world Darkened for a single second.

The stars Choked. And in a record older than time, A single sentence was inscribed:

The bearer of the outcome has fallen.

The dragon lowered its head. In respect.

Not for death.

But for the one Who chose a single outcome And paid its price in full.
