Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: The True Monster

Chapter 105: The True Monster

"You—"

Before Crazy Mita could finish, the Ice Spear in Asagiri's hand snapped through the air like an arrow released from a bowstring, stabbing straight toward her.

Bang!

Crazy Mita threw up the chainsaw to block, but the impact ripped it away anyway. The weapon spun off to the side, and the shock forced her to stumble backward, nearly dropping to the floor.

She had barely regained her balance when Iwanaga Kotoko, finished charging, extended her hand.

Her dark purple eyes were empty of emotion.

"Netherworld Grip."

The instant the words fell, a pale, ghostly hand tore out of the void and lunged for Crazy Mita.

But with an unnatural twist, joints bending the wrong way in a bizarre anti human motion, Crazy Mita slipped free of the grasp with a grinding sound of friction.

"As expected…"

Cracks crawled across Crazy Mita's skin. Beneath the torn flesh, a mechanical shell glinted, wires and plating hidden under the disguise.

Kind Mita's expression sank heavily as she shouted a warning.

"Be careful! She isn't a flesh and blood Mita like us. She's a mechanical monster wearing Mita skin. Don't treat her like a human!"

"Thanks for the reminder, but…"

Asagiri's voice fell at the same time he moved.

He and Human Asura surged in from both sides, left and right, closing like a trap. A Rope Dart linked to a metal chain was already in his hand.

"We aren't normal humans either."

Crazy Mita lifted her head.

At this point she had fully shed the disguise. Her once bright purple eyes had become hollow voids filled with terrifying red light, just like the failed creations.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it! Die! Just die! Why won't you obediently die?!"

She yanked out a fire axe and swung it savagely at Asagiri.

Even in a mindless breakdown, her instinct was correct.

If Asagiri died, Human Asura would vanish with him. As for Yuuki Asuna, Kato Megumi, and Iwanaga Kotoko, Crazy Mita couldn't see their Player profiles because of the rules of that eye icon app, but she had watched them fight since the moment they entered the Dungeon. She didn't believe the three of them could threaten her.

As long as she killed this guy, as long as she killed him, the game would return to her control.

However, Asagiri showed no tension at all. If anything, there was a faint smile in his eyes.

"What a pity."

The Rope Dart in his hand vanished in the next breath, replaced by a heavy black sniper rifle. The muzzle was already locked on Crazy Mita's upper body.

"Times have changed."

Bang!

For ordinary people, the recoil from a sniper rifle could injure them if their stance was wrong. For Asagiri, whose body had already surpassed human limits under Human Asura's passive effect, it was nothing.

He could move freely with the rifle, firing at will, like it was just another shooting game.

The shot landed.

Crazy Mita's body jerked backward from the impact, and the fire axe slipped from her grip and clattered to the ground.

She looked down at her abdomen.

A clean hole had been punched through. Inside, wires were exposed, electricity crackling, sparks flickering like a dying warning light.

Her face twisted.

"You—"

Before she could finish, Yuuki Asuna was already there, Exorcist Longsword in hand.

"Stinger."

A white flash erupted from the tip.

Crazy Mita had no time to dodge. She snapped her neck sideways at an impossible angle, her head almost brushing her shoulder, barely avoiding the killing line of light.

Still, a deep slash carved across her cheek, peeling back skin to reveal the mechanical shell underneath.

And then Human Asura was directly in front of her.

The towering black shadow clenched both fists and smashed down from above.

Boom!

Crazy Mita threw up her arms to block. Even so, the terrifying force drove her legs straight into the wooden floor. Debris exploded up around her as the boards cracked and sank.

At the same moment, Kato Megumi appeared from the shadows, her presence suppressed by her talent.

The dark purple dagger in her hand aimed perfectly for Crazy Mita's throat.

"Get lost!"

Cornered, Crazy Mita stopped caring about anything else.

She lifted her left arm to block the dagger thrust, then swung her right arm with everything she had. Even Human Asura was forced back for a moment by the sheer, desperate power of that motion.

That single breath of space was enough.

Crazy Mita yanked a grenade from her pocket, bit the pin free, and hurled it toward Hat Mita and the others. Then she tore herself out of the splintered floor and fled like a rabid stray dog, sprinting for a distant door.

"Human Asura."

Before the grenade could land, Human Asura seized it.

Then the shadowy giant dropped to the floor, pressing the grenade tight to its chest with both hands.

Bang!

A deafening, muffled explosion shook the entire room. Cracks spread across Human Asura's dark body as it absorbed the blast at the cost of dispersing, stopping shrapnel from reaching the others.

Crazy Mita never looked back.

She wanted to know whether anyone had died, but survival screamed louder than curiosity.

The door was right there.

Relief and joy flickered across her face like a glitch.

As long as she pushed it open, as long as she ran through, she could use that guy's power to shake them off, and this game still might have a chance to turn around.

Then a sound rang out behind her.

Crazy Mita went rigid, as if she had been thrown into an ice cellar.

Even without turning, she felt it.

A pair of eyes, black and intent, fixed on her back.

"No… don't!"

She reached for the door.

Before she could cross, a metal chain snapped around her left ankle and yanked.

She slammed face first into the floor.

"Don't go."

Asagiri stood a few meters away, holding the Rope Dart's chain in one hand. With slow, effortless force, he began dragging her toward him.

His voice was gentle, almost amused.

"Didn't you tell me to come find you and play? I'm not satisfied yet. How can you leave?"

"Don't… don't!"

Crazy Mita clawed at the ground, fingers scraping uselessly as she tried to stop herself from being pulled back. The madness on her face broke apart into pure despair.

Her red lit eyes stared at the corridor beyond the door as she screamed until her voice went raw.

"Get away! Let go of me! Let go!"

"Let go?"

Human Asura, newly summoned again, pressed Crazy Mita's small body flat against the floor with both hands.

Asagiri walked up, knelt on one knee, and looked straight into those crimson eyes.

His tone stayed soft, almost comforting.

"You will never escape from here."

"No… no…"

Asagiri reached out and closed the door that had been within her grasp.

That final click shattered something in Crazy Mita's mind.

The next second, Yuuki Asuna flashed into place.

With clean, decisive movements, she swung the Exorcist Longsword and severed Crazy Mita's limbs in one ruthless sequence.

"This way, she'll be a little more well behaved, right?"

The five Mitas, including Pocket Mita, stared in shock.

None of them had expected that the girl who had seemed elegant and gentle like a rich young lady the entire way could do something like that without hesitation.

More than that, the precision and calm in her expression made one thing painfully clear.

This was not her first time.

Only then did Hat Mita finally react. She hurried to Asagiri's side and asked first, voice tight with worry.

"Player, you're not hurt, right?"

"No."

"Phew… that's good."

Hat Mita exhaled like she had been carrying a weight the entire time. Then she glared at Crazy Mita, whose severed body still writhed, Mita skin torn and shattered in multiple places.

"So she really was hiding in your phone all along? When did you figure it out?"

Asagiri retracted the Rope Dart's chain and spoke flatly.

"When we left that corridor, we already had a rough guess."

"No… impossible…"

Crazy Mita lay on the floor, disbelief spilling out even through her broken state.

"But I was listening the whole time. You never discussed it. You never made a plan…"

Iwanaga Kotoko walked over and gently tapped Crazy Mita's head with her cane, looking down with a quiet smile.

"That's the funny part."

She tilted her head, voice soft.

"For something this simple, do you really think we need words to make a plan? A tacit understanding is enough."

Then Kotoko's smile widened as she shifted topics, sounding almost cheerful.

"Oh, right. Thanks for all the traps. They helped us confirm that Phantom's talent also works on failed creations."

"And your biggest flaw was the protective barrier you set up. It only triggered a fake system notification when he touched it. Normally, the safest approach would be for all four of us to go in and leave our phones with these Mita for safekeeping."

"But you couldn't do that."

Kotoko's gaze settled on Crazy Mita, who had fallen into silence, and her tone sharpened slightly at the end.

"Because you could only see his Player profile. So you only knew his real name."
