He pulled her closer, the warmth of his body pressing against hers. When they broke apart, both were breathing hard. Aveloria's body was on fire, her wolf pacing in excitement.
"Lucien," she said quietly, her voice trembling slightly. "You shouldn't have come."
"I told you, I had to see you," he said, brushing his thumb along her jaw.
"If anyone finds out—"
"They won't. I'm careful." He cut in.
She searched his face. "You don't understand what's at risk."
"I understand perfectly, but I don't care," he said.
She looked at him for a long moment, then sighed, resting her forehead against his chest. "You're reckless."
"I've been called worse."
She laughed softly.
Lucien tilted her face back up and kissed her again, slower this time. "I missed you," he murmured.
"I missed you, too," she admitted.
He smiled, that dangerous charm returning to his eyes. "Then don't think about tomorrow. Just tonight."
