Chapter 439: The Outcome of the Battle
Kakashi stared at the surrounding destruction, cold sweat dripping down his temple.
If he took a direct hit from that, he'd be a goner.
Might Guy flashed his trademark brilliant white teeth and beamed at Kakashi. "Don't worry! The Eight Great Tremor Training System doesn't just hone physical power—it trains precise control over your body too. I definitely won't hurt you!"
Within the Eight Great Tremor System, Guy had made the most astounding progress.
His natural talent in taijutsu was simply unmatched, leaving the younger generation far behind as he galloped ahead in a league of his own.
Although Kakashi possessed incredible talent himself, he was still a step behind Guy when it came to pure taijutsu.
Right now, Guy didn't even need to open the Eight Gates to replicate the overwhelming force of his Seventh Gate.
It was testament to the staggering physical conditioning he had undergone over the recent years.
Were it not for his advancing age and natural physical decline compared to his prime, he would likely be even more terrifying.
This was true taijutsu genius.
"Cut the talk," Kakashi replied. "Since you're going all out, I'm taking this seriously too. Watch out."
Purple Electricity: White Fang's Charge!
A blinding torrent of purple lightning erupted, completely enveloping Kakashi's body in a crackling shroud.
Whoosh!
His speed multiplied, eclipsing even his former lightning-fast execution of the Rasen-driven Lightning Blade.
Thanks to years of dedicated jutsu development, Kakashi could now utilize the sensory feedback of his lightning to track and pinpoint an enemy's movements—eliminating his former reliance on the Sharingan entirely.
This was the true purpose of Purple Electricity.
Beyond enhancing speed and power, this sensory capability was its defining breakthrough.
This was the complete, perfected evolution of the Lightning Blade.
Crackle! Spark!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The violent collisions between the two men sent thunder echoing across the entire island, shattering the stillness with deafening booms.
"So incredible! The Sixth Hokage is amazing, and that bowl-cut teacher is insane too!" Chocho Akimichi stammered, her head spinning from the spectacle.
Even her own dad probably couldn't match taijutsu of this caliber.
As expected of the Sixth Hokage!
Among the recruits, no one watched with more breathless intensity than Houki Taketori, Kakashi's die-hard admirer.
Whenever Kakashi seemed to fall onto the defensive, Houki held his breath in absolute panic, terrified the Sixth Hokage might get crushed.
And whenever Kakashi regained the upper hand, a bright grin broke across his face.
"Lord Sixth is truly incredible... but that bowl-cut teacher is ridiculously strong too."
That was the exact thought running through everyone's mind.
"You can do it, Master Guy!" Metal Lee shouted at the top of his lungs, completely free of any stage fright.
Boruto squinted. "Is that... Sasuke-sensei's Chidori?"
Since Sasuke was his idol, Boruto couldn't help but speculate—it looked so strikingly similar.
Mitsuki smiled softly beside him. "That's Sasuke-sama's teacher. Mm... and my father was Sasuke-sama's teacher too."
"Huh? Sasuke-uncle's teacher was your dad?!" A row of question marks flashed through Boruto's head.
He could accept Kakashi being Sasuke's teacher, but who on earth was Mitsuki's dad?
"Who's your dad anyway?" Boruto asked.
"Orochimaru," Mitsuki replied smoothly.
"EH?! You mean that Legendary Sannin... Orochimaru?!"
The image of the renegade scientist who frequently appeared as the iconic villain in blockbuster movies flashed through Boruto's mind.
Word on the street was that back in his youth, Uncle Sasuke had been lured away by Orochimaru to serve as his disciple and test subject.
Orochimaru's notorious reputation was enough to make kids across Konoha cry in terror.
There was even a common threat among parents: If you don't behave, I'll hand you over to Orochimaru for human experimentation!
Even though Orochimaru currently served as the Director of the Technology Development Bureau, he remained a terrifying figure in the eyes of children.
Boruto stared at Mitsuki in sheer disbelief. "I can't believe you're Orochimaru's son... Wait, if you're his son, who's your mom?"
"Mom? He's my dad, and he's also my mom," Mitsuki answered with a cheerful smile.
"EHHHHHH?!" Boruto was rendered completely speechless.
He looked at Mitsuki like he was staring at an alien.
Mitsuki chuckled. "My father is actually really nice. You shouldn't view him through the lens of those urban legends. Besides, he's incredibly talented—you might even run into him during your studies in the future, considering he's the Bureau Director."
"I definitely do not want to run into him!" Boruto shuddered.
He suddenly recalled seeing a man who looked like Orochimaru at Captain Tonbo's son's wedding years ago.
He had been too young back then to process it, but the memory came rushing back now.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion shattered the air, like the heavens falling and the earth rending apart.
The freshmen, mid-conversation, jumped in fright at the sudden shockwave, shutting their mouths and staring toward the source of the roar in total bewilderment.
In an instant, blinding waves of radiant light surged forward, flooding their field of vision with a chaotic storm of brilliant illumination. The glare was so intense that they could barely keep their eyes open, as if the light itself were devouring everything in its path.
Accompanied by an earth-shaking roar, thunder rolled through the dark, churning clouds above as purple lightning surged into the sky like wildly dancing vipers. The bolts coalesced into a massive, majestic lightning beast that pounced downward toward Kakashi with bared fangs!
Simultaneously, on the other side of the battlefield, a surge of brilliant blue steam erupted from Might Guy. The dense vapor poured continuously from his body, enveloping him like a shroud of azure flame. As his power exploded, the sheer pressure of his chakra caused the air to tremble violently, distorting the surrounding space under the unimaginable strain.
The lush forest Moegi had summoned earlier was completely obliterated. Massive fissures tore through the bedrock of the island like wounds ripped open by invisible hands. The ground quaked incessantly, making it impossible to stand, while the sky above seemed to fracture, revealing an endless, deep void.
"Whoa! I can't open my eyes!"
Boruto shielded his face as hurricane-force winds swept over them, forcing his eyelids shut.
The other students were in the same boat, desperately trying to shield themselves.
Right at that moment, Tobitake Tonbo smiled subtly from the front, extending a thread of chakra that instantly linked the minds of every student present.
The other veteran instructors noticed and said nothing.
Tonbo was using his ninjutsu to assist the new recruits so they could fully witness this breathtaking battle.
In truth, even the teachers were awestruck by how insanely powerful the two combatants had become.
As expected of the legendary men who had rendered distinguished service during the Fourth Great War!
Konohamaru swallowed hard. I still have a long way to go!
Moegi gasped in awe, "As expected of our seniors—they're incredible!"
Shino Aburame sighed internally, Dammit... my display really lacked presence compared to this.
If the teachers were stunned, the students were utterly spellbound.
Even as they shielded their eyes from the roaring winds, vivid battlefield imagery broadcast directly into their minds.
Despite having their eyes covered, the fight unfolded right before their consciousness as if they were standing directly on the battlefield.
Tonbo Hyuga opened his eyes, activating his Byakugan using his chakra. The sheer volume of chakra is distorting even my Byakugan's vision... Unbelievable!
His view was warped by the surging chakra fields, preventing his physical eyes from taking in the entire battlefield.
Yet the mental projection in his mind captured every single nuance of the fight in flawless detail.
This is the true power of Captain Tonbo...
He felt the overwhelming flow of chakra through his mental link.
"When we see men of worth, we should think of equaling them; when we see men of a contrary character, we should turn inwards and examine ourselves."
