Chapter 341: Sealing
"Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation)."
The pitch-black sphere soared high into the sky.
Tonbo Tobitake and the others immediately felt an overwhelming gravitational pull acting upon them. The velocity of the attraction was staggering. The four of them were yanked upward instantly.
Simultaneously, plants, trees, forest debris, massive chunks of earth, and boulders from the ground were sucked into the air.
"Hey, are you kidding me? I haven't even finished showing off yet, and you're already using your ultimate move," Tonbo grumbled, feeling the pull.
Kabuto was clearly worried about what other Genjutsu Tonbo might have up his sleeve. Afraid he wouldn't get a chance to use his own trump cards, Kabuto had skipped straight to the big guns. However, the power of the Rinnegan's Chibaku Tensei was undeniably formidable.
"What do we do? This move is incredibly powerful..." Naruto watched as the sphere of earth began to consolidate in the sky.
Itachi Uchiha spoke calmly: "Every jutsu has its weakness. Captain Tonbo once told me that the power of this technique depends entirely on that core. As long as our combined attack can shatter the core of the jutsu, we can break it."
As he spoke, he glanced toward Tonbo Tobitake. Years ago, those were Tonbo's exact words.
"Of course, I'm ready too. This mastermind has researched me quite deeply. You guys break the jutsu; I'll seal Nagato," Tonbo said with a confident chuckle.
"What's the plan, Uncle Tonbo?" Naruto asked. Killer Bee looked over curiously as well.
"Heh, I have another clone. I have more people than he does."
Tonbo pointed behind the reanimated Nagato. Another Tonbo Tobitake was rapidly weaving hand signs and had already finished the sequence.
"Eh? Uncle Tonbo can use the Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu too?" Naruto was shocked. Even Kakashi-sensei and Captain Yamato weren't particularly proficient in making so many high-level clones.
"What a joke. I'm the man who served as Acting Hokage. A forbidden jutsu of this level is child's play for me," Tonbo said, pouting. Who do you think you're looking down on?
Itachi urged: "Naruto, Bee, let's move, or it'll be too late."
"Right!"
"Yasaka Magatama!"
"Tailed Beast Bomb!"
"Wind Style: Rasenshuriken!"
"Genjutsu: Paralysis!"
The other three directed their attacks at the core of the Chibaku Tensei. Meanwhile, Tonbo's clone—which was currently being sucked upward—used Genjutsu to freeze Nagato's body in place. Nagato, who was maintaining the massive gravitational sphere, had no excess power left to dispel the illusion.
Behind Nagato, the other shadow clone struck.
"Genjutsu Seal: Four Beast Gate!"
"Gate of the Biting Tiger!"
A massive wall shaped like a tiger's head slammed down to Nagato's south.
"Gate of the Dragon's Tail!"
A colossal dragon-tail wall fell to the east.
"Gate of the Turtle Shell!"
A turtle-shell-shaped gate landed to the west.
"Gate of the Phoenix Wing!"
A circular gate with wings descended to the north.
The four gates surrounded Nagato, and a black barrier cut off the space around him. Runic formulas appeared at the top and bottom to connect the gates.
Rumble!
Above them, led by Itachi, the group successfully shattered the core of the Chibaku Tensei, and they all fell back toward the ground. Upon landing, they saw Nagato already securely sealed.
"Uncle Tonbo is amazing! He actually sealed him," Naruto praised.
Itachi glanced at the seal and said, "Since this is settled, we shall part ways. I am going to find and deal with the mastermind behind this."
Killer Bee gave Tonbo a thumbs-up. "Go, go! Captain Tonbo, you live up to the name! What a powerful character..." He began rapping again.
Hearing Itachi, Naruto said, "Let's go together."
"No need. I've already thought of a way to deal with that person. Your mission now is to support the main battlefield," Itachi replied seriously.
Across the various battlefields, victory was blooming everywhere. Everywhere you looked, he was there. Who? Tonbo Tobitake.
He was making a name for himself. With just his shadow clones, his Genjutsu dominated the front lines. Whenever his music echoed, the Allied Forces felt an extraordinary sense of security.
As the Supreme Commanders, Raikage Ay and Tsunade watched Tonbo's ever-growing results and agreed: he had the right and the ability to act as a one-man army. His clones alone were significantly reducing the Alliance's casualties.
Shikaku Nara, as the chief strategist, found Tonbo's utility to be unparalleled. The main factor was Tonbo's ability to convert others' chakra; whenever a clone ran low, it simply converted the chakra of nearby allies into its own and got right back to work.
This made Tonbo's record even more glorious, though it technically bordered on "group bullying." No one had ever seen such a versatile ninja on the battlefield. In terms of impact on the enemy, each of his shadow clones was comparable to a Tailed Beast. While they lacked raw destructive power, the influence of sound-based Genjutsu on a war scale was simply too great.
Tonbo Tobitake became synonymous with peace of mind. To whichever battlefield he arrived, cheers followed.
"The Battlefield Artist." This was the new title Tonbo had earned among the troops.
"If you want to pierce my body, you'll need a powerful Wind Style. This is not enough," the Third Raikage said to the Allied ninjas.
Even though Tonbo's Genjutsu was suppressing his chakra and weakening his jutsu, the Alliance's attacks were still falling short. They could barely break his skin before his reanimated body healed the damage.
"Dammit! I'm already the most powerful Wind Style user in this unit," Temari said, her expression turning grim as she watched the Raikage recover. "Senior Motoi, is there really no other way?"
Motoi replied, "The Third Raikage's body was strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the Eight-Tails. His speed is among the best in the history of the ninja world. He is a formidable existence with the 'Strongest Spear' and 'Strongest Shield.' We must have a wind attack powerful enough to overwhelm him before we can seal him."
"To think he still has such attack and defense even while suppressed by Captain Tonbo!" Temari felt frustrated.
Matsuri added, "Senior Temari, isn't Captain Tonbo known as the 'Black Flash'? He should be able to break the Raikage's defense. I heard he once used Wind Style to restrain a monster even more terrifying than a Tailed Beast."
"You're right. Based on the intel, that move was a Wind Style," Motoi recalled the report from Headquarters.
Tonbo Tobitake's files were well-known to them. He possessed a powerful Wind Style Forbidden Jutsu. If he could unleash it, perhaps it could shatter the Third Raikage's defense.
"But this is just a shadow clone, and he's busy using Genjutsu to support us. If he stops the suppression, the other units might suffer heavy losses," Temari analyzed.
"The Kazekage has already sealed Rasa and is chasing the Second Tsuchikage with Lord Onoki. We need to seal the Third Raikage—who has maxed out mobility, defense, and attack—as soon as possible, or he'll cause massive destruction. It all depends on whether Captain Tonbo can do it!"
They didn't know if the move Tonbo used before would work against an enemy as specialized as the Third Raikage.
"A man should never say he 'can't' do it. Don't worry, the Kazekage and Tsuchikage are doing fine, and the guy with the mustache is just playing games with the Alliance. I have a moment to step in here."
Tonbo descended from the sky, landing in front of the ninjas facing the Third Raikage.
"Don't resist. Lend me your chakra."
