Chapter 9 - Current Featured Banner: Jackie Chan’s Department Store!

After discovering that Mora could be thrown as a weapon, Jia Changjiang realized something important—

The things he could use as weapons weren't limited to those he could merely wield proficiently.

With that thought in mind, he started eyeing everything in the room.

One by one, he picked objects up, checked their properties, then put them back down.

And then…

Jia Changjiang came to a terrifying realization.

Maybe the strange one wasn't the Weapon Master system.

Maybe the strange one… was him.

Why the hell could he lift the bed and use it as a weapon?!

And what were all those combat techniques flooding into his mind—techniques specifically for fighting with a bed?!

What kind of Weapon Master would seriously research combat styles that involved swinging a bed around?!

Even worse—

Why did the bed have decent attack power in the appraisal?!

Corner strikes could trigger critical hits?!

So apparently, even a brick could crit if you hit someone with the sharp edge?!

Complaints aside, after a thorough round of testing, Jia Changjiang gained a much deeper understanding of his ability.

"So this is what 'All Things Are Weapons' really means…"

After testing nearly everything in the room, his gaze finally fell on the battle axe he'd obtained earlier.

The moment he gripped the Aegisong Axe, information appeared before his eyes.

[Aegisong Axe — A weapon once wielded by the Weapon Master Jax. It has severed the head of a god-warrior.]

The description was simple—but more than enough to convey the axe's legendary past.

"Severed the head of a god-warrior…"

A trace of fanaticism flickered in Jia Changjiang's eyes.

"What kind of battle would that have been?"

As he pondered that, his thoughts inevitably drifted back to the massive cyan dragon he'd seen earlier that day.

"It must have been…"

"…incredibly exhilarating."

After basking in that excitement for a while, Jia Changjiang returned his focus to the system itself.

He quickly noticed that large portions of it were completely blank—as though locked away.

Which led him to suspect that the system's full functionality hadn't been unlocked yet.

That said, several sections were still accessible:

Quests. Achievements. Inventory.

And…

"Gacha?"

His interest was instantly piqued.

The moment he tapped into the gacha interface, a massive fountain appeared before him, accompanied by a system prompt.

[Current Featured Banner — Jackie Chan's Department Store!]

[Remaining Pulls: 1]

"…???"

Jackie Chan's Department Store?

What kind of nonsense banner name was that? Why not just give him a Duang while they were at it?

And where did that one pull even come from?

Out of the corner of his eye, Jia Changjiang noticed an exclamation mark on the Achievements tab and immediately opened it.

At the top was a newly unlocked achievement.

[Lu Zhishen Uproots the Weeping Willow — Reward: 1 Gacha Pull]

"Oh… from ripping the tree out earlier?"

He glanced back at the frankly suspicious-looking banner. After a brief moment of consideration, he tapped it anyway.

He already had a pull—might as well use it.

A pale-golden coin materialized in his hand, symbolizing the gacha attempt. Following the system's prompt, Jia Changjiang tossed it into the fountain.

The previously calm waters immediately began to churn.

A brilliant golden light erupted before his eyes.

For a moment, Jia Changjiang thought he'd hit the jackpot.

But when the light faded…

He found himself holding a mop.

[High-quality mop — ★★★★★

Extremely durable. Excellent water absorption.]

"…Bullshit!"

Jia Changjiang slammed the mop onto the floor.

"What the hell am I supposed to do with a mop?! Even if it's five-star, it's still a mop!!"

What made it even harder to accept was that the instant he held it, his mind had already been flooded with countless mop-based combat techniques.

"…Forget it."

"At least it's a single-pull gold. I'll just pretend I bought a mop."

Grumbling a few words to himself, Jia Changjiang decided to ignore the mop entirely and opened the quest interface instead.

At the very top was still the quest to defeat Stormterror—something he knew he wasn't strong enough to handle yet.

But then he noticed something new.

[Defeat the Dandelion Knight — Jean]

[Quest Reward: Counter Strike]

The moment he saw it, Jia Changjiang's eyes lit up.

Counter Strike?

Wasn't that Jax's E skill?!

A defensive stance that dodged all incoming basic attacks, reduced damage from area attacks, and stunned surrounding enemies when it ended—

The core skill of the Weapon Master Jax!

And he'd get it… by defeating Jean?

"Win."

Jia Changjiang didn't bother hiding his desire.

"If I win, I'll become stronger."

With his enthusiasm soaring, he noticed several other quests listed below.

Most of them were simple extermination tasks—Hilichurls, Slimes, and the like.

And the rewards…

"Physical attributes?"

Jia Changjiang's eyes shone.

"Perfect. I'll start right now."

After stuffing all his miscellaneous items into the system inventory, Jia Changjiang returned to Katheryne and picked up another commission.

Before lunchtime, he was already heading out of the city.

Not long after he left, a red figure leapt down from Mondstadt's city wall, unfurled her Wind Glider, and quietly followed him.

It was Amber.

Meanwhile, Jia Changjiang was focused entirely on his commission and the quests displayed in his system.

"Hm?"

Amber frowned slightly as she watched him.

"Where did that big axe go?"

She distinctly remembered him carrying it into the inn earlier. Yet now that he'd left the city, he was walking empty-handed.

"The commission is to eliminate a nearby Hilichurl camp… no shamans, but there is a Mitachurl…"

Jia Changjiang skimmed the commission details.

"And my personal quest is to defeat ten Hilichurls. Reward: a small boost to physical attributes, plus skill fragments?"

"Skill fragments are for learning skills?"

He shrugged.

"Whatever. Reading quest descriptions has never been my style."

He tossed the commission sheet into his inventory, then suddenly pulled out his battle axe, lifting it high overhead as his fighting spirit surged.

"So basically—"

"The mission is to flip some Hilichurls, right?"

"Then let's flip the hell out of them!!"
