POV: Aphrodite
The voice from last night still echoes in my thoughts when I wake. Take your time, little wolf. Words that came from nowhere and everywhere at once, spoken by the presence I've been sensing since we left Nightfang.
I don't tell anyone about it. Don't try to explain something I barely understand myself. Just carry the memory of that warm, patient voice through the morning as we break camp and continue our journey.
By midday, we stop in a clearing large enough for training. The twins have been teaching me combat techniques between travel days, helping me learn to use Direwolf strength without losing control. Today feels no different from any other training session.
Until it is.
"Your stance is too wide," Draco observes from where he's been watching me practice defensive positions. "You're giving up mobility for stability, but that won't help if someone faster attacks."
