POV: Aphrodite
The morning brings no relief from the cold, just grey light filtering through the trees and the promise of another long day of travel ahead.
I wake feeling the bonds more intensely than I have in days. The connection to both twins pulses at the edge of my awareness, demanding attention I'm not ready to give. The quiet moment with Draco last night opened something between us, and now the bond is trying to deepen that connection whether I want it to or not.
I can't let that happen. Can't let these bonds control my choices or dictate my feelings. I need to maintain some sense of autonomy, some proof that I'm still in control of my own life even with these supernatural connections tying me to people I never chose.
So I do what I've been practicing since the bonds first snapped into place. I suppress them. Push them down beneath layers of mental walls until the constant awareness fades to something I can ignore.
