Inspiration is the most mysterious thing in the world. No one knows when it will suddenly appear from some forgotten corner of the mind. It usually flashes by like a ghost, making it hard to catch, but Kong Mingan was lucky enough to grab hold of it.
He realized that his current situation was no longer just about making the Snow Empress stronger so she could protect him from every possible threat. Instead, he was looking at a way to add a secondary supplement to the cultivation system and create a phased transformation of the system itself.
He thought about how elementalization has a certain level of flexibility. By combining the concept of elementalization with the Spirit True Body and then finding an anchor point to make it solid, a Spirit Master would essentially stop being just a human. At that specific moment, they would transform from a person into an elemental Spirit Beast.
He continued to think that if he could reverse engineer the process of Qi and blood transformation from a state of complete elementalization, then the path of becoming a human transformed Spirit Beast would not be limited only to Spell Cultivators. It would work just as well for Body Cultivators.
Body Cultivators are a great fit for most Spirit Masters who have a Beast Spirit. These Spirit Masters use their Spirit True Body to build their physical form through Qi and blood transformation. If they can solidify that form with an anchor point, they can also transform into Spirit Beasts. The opposite is also true. Almost all Spirit Beasts could use the method of a Body Cultivator to transform into humans without losing any of their power. If this happened, the line between humans and Spirit Beasts would start to disappear.
Kong Mingan whispered these thoughts to himself, and his face showed a complicated expression. Because of the need to hunt and kill for spirit rings, the conflict between humans and Spirit Beasts has always been impossible to resolve. Humans have short lives and grow very fast in their cultivation, while Spirit Beasts live for thousands of years but grow very slowly. Over a long period of time, it is almost certain that Spirit Beasts will go extinct.
But if the boundary between humans and Spirit Beasts starts to blur, and if humans can freely become Spirit Beasts while Spirit Beasts can freely become humans, everything will change. He could already imagine people saying things like, why do you think I am different from you? This is just my combat form! Or maybe someone would say, brother, your Spirit Beast form looks so cool, how do you do that? I want to learn it too. Some might even shout that they will attack in their Spirit Beast form. Kong Mingan did not have to think hard to know that this would happen.
Humans and Spirit Beasts would likely go through a process of fusion. It would be just like the different groups of people in his past life who merged over time. After a few generations, the two groups would become one, and no one would be able to tell the difference anymore. He smiled to himself and thought that he was only trying to find a way to help the Snow Empress, but he ended up thinking about changing the whole cultivation system. He realized this path could actually bring peace to the entire world.
He joked to himself that if the Douluo Plane had something like a peace prize, he would probably win it. He shook his head to stop his mind from jumping around too much. He really believed that if he pushed this method and shared it with others, it had a very high chance of working. If he could also solve the problem of how people get spirit rings and Spirit Bones, and if the right rules were put in place across the continent, then the fusion of humans and Spirit Beasts would be easy.
For Kong Mingan, creating a new way to get spirit rings and Spirit Bones was not a hard task. Based on what he had already researched, making blank spirit rings out of pure energy was quite simple. As for Spirit Bones, he could just buy some to use as samples for his study. Once he understood how they worked, he could use that foundation to figure out a way to make artificial Spirit Bones.
In short, if Kong Mingan really wanted to, he could end the war between humans and Spirit Beasts and let the two races become one. But when he thought about it, he realized it wasn't really necessary for him to do all that work.
He was a human, and except for the Snow Empress and the Spirit Beasts of the Extreme North Land that he promised to help, he didn't really care if the other Spirit Beasts died out. He wasn't a hero or a person who lived only to help others. He didn't want to waste his time on things that didn't matter to him.
He decided that his main goal right now was to finish the full version of elementalization. He needed to perfect the Spell Cultivator system and then keep building on that foundation. As for the problem with the Snow Empress and her spirit ring, it would be a simple thing to fix once he finished his other work. He calculated that the Snow Empress still needed time for her origin to fully recover, and that time would be enough for him to finish his research on elementalization.
He felt like a student returning to a lab after a long and relaxing ten day vacation. He wasn't upset about going back to work. In fact, he felt very excited and ready to try new things. He liked the balance between working and resting. Exploring the unknown truths of the world was a feeling that he found very addictive.
The blue light in his eyes became brighter and clearer. Kong Mingan stood up slowly, and his spirit power began to flow out of his body, covering him like a blanket. With a calm look in his eyes, he took a step forward and landed on the cold spring of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
The freezing cold of the spring was actually just a very thick form of energy from the world. If a normal person tried to absorb this energy, they couldn't turn it into spirit power fast enough. The cold would just freeze their body, damage their meridians, and hurt their Dantian.
But this was not a problem for Kong Mingan. His body began to change. His skin and muscles started to glow with the light of the elements. His handsome face had a soft elemental glow that looked like a dream. He didn't stop walking. He moved across the cold water and soon stood right in front of the Snow Empress. She was busy healing herself, but she paused and opened her eyes. A look of confusion appeared in her blue eyes.
Kong Mingan waved his hand and told her it was okay and that she should keep healing while he took some measurements. While she was healing, the extreme cold energy from the spring flowed into her body. This made her energy structure very clear to his eyes. It was the perfect time for him to watch and learn how her power worked. He didn't want to miss this chance.
The Snow Empress tilted her head, still a bit confused, but she didn't try to stop him. A thought seemed to cross her mind. After a short pause, she moved closer to Kong Mingan and gently put her arms around him. Kong Mingan was surprised and asked her what she was doing. She spoke softly in his ear and told him that it would be clearer this way. Her spirit power began to surge and merge with his own power.
Even without looking down, Kong Mingan could see everything about the Snow Empress in his mind. Her entire energy system was laid out for him to see. He felt her cold but very soft aura surrounding him completely. The blue light in his eyes flickered for a moment. After a long time, he closed his eyes and whispered that she was right.
In the distance, Tang Ya had just finished marking the area where she would plant her herbs. She looked over and saw the two of them hugging in the middle of the white mist rising from the cold spring.
She pouted her lips and thought to herself that they really didn't care who saw them. She was chewing on a piece of Blue Silver Grass, but she felt like the grass tasted very sour today. She looked away and went back to her work, leaving the two of them alone in the mist.
