Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 : The wizard is the master!

After a brief moment, Electrolux walked to the side of the room. He casually picked up a Soft Bones Rabbit and continued with his research for the day. Before he got back to work, Electrolux handed a glowing white spirit ring to Kong Mingan.

This spirit ring contained a special Soul Skill Module. Its purpose was to open the gate to the Undead Demigod Plane. Kong Mingan looked at the spirit ring sitting in his palm. He felt the weight of his responsibilities and sighed softly. He thought about how many things he had to do and wondered if he could catch up with the plan he made earlier.

So far, the research on spirit ring Self-Editing and Reconstruction was about half finished. The first part, which was the self-editing, was basically done. Electrolux was now able to create specific Soul Skill Modules inside a spirit ring on his own.

Those nine special gray spirit rings were the proof of his hard work and research. However, Kong Mingan felt his own progress was a bit slow. It would take him some time to catch up to the level he wanted. He summarized his goals into four main points.

The first point was to become very familiar with all the Soul Skill Modules inside a spirit ring. He needed to be able to use all of them easily and flexibly. This was the most important foundation for everything else.

If a Spirit Master couldn't even do this, then this method probably wasn't right for them. In that case, it would be better to become a Body Cultivator. Being a Body Cultivator was simpler because it didn't require much deep thinking, just constant Body Refining to get stronger.

The second point was about clearing out the clutter. After finding all the useful Soul Skill Modules in the spirit ring, he had to remove all the useless memories from the Spirit Beast. By doing this, he could maximize the carrying capacity of the spirit ring. This step was necessary to lay the foundation for the self-editing process that would come later.

The third point was the most challenging. After getting used to the spirit ring modules, he had to try to build Soul Skill Modules independently. This meant he would be able to use Spirit Abilities without needing the spirit ring at all. Once he achieved this, the spirit ring would no longer limit the Spirit Master. Only then could the efficiency of using a spirit ring reach its true potential.

The fourth point was an extension of the third one. Once he could build Soul Skill Modules on his own, he could remove all the original modules from the spirit ring. This would completely free up the carrying capacity of the spirit ring. At that stage, he could add his own Soul Skill Modules into the spirit ring based on his own ideas. This would mark the final completion of spirit ring self-editing.

Some people might wonder why this was necessary. If a person can already use Spirit Abilities without a spirit ring, why bother adding modules back into it? It might seem like a waste of time or redundant. However, Kong Mingan had a very good reason for this. He didn't think it was redundant at all.

He liked to explain it with a simple example. Let's imagine a spirit ring has a limit of 100 points. If adding a Fireball Soul Skill Module takes only 1 point, then a person could put one hundred Fireball modules into a single spirit ring. It takes time for a Spirit Master to build a module during a fight, but using the spirit ring makes it instant. Imagine throwing one hundred Fireballs at an enemy's face all at once.

Of course, some might argue that a hundred Fireballs are still just ordinary attacks. That is true, but what if the skill was something much stronger? For example, what if the module was Paragon Golden Body? If a spirit ring had one hundred Paragon Golden Body modules, a Spirit Master could use that invincibility skill a hundred times.

That would give them so much room for error in a battle. Plus, each Soul Skill Module is separate, meaning they each have their own cooldown. If you have enough modules, you could use them in a cycle and never run out.

Then there is the question of energy. People might ask who could possibly have enough spirit power to use so many abilities. They might think it looks cool but isn't practical. Kong Mingan had an answer for that too. He didn't worry about spirit power because the spirit ring itself is a huge energy storage tool.

Using these Spirit Abilities wouldn't use the Spirit Master's own spirit power. Instead, it would use the energy stored inside the spirit ring. This would allow the spirit ring to be self-sufficient. This was the second path Kong Mingan created after the Body Cultivator path. He decided to call it the Spell Cultivator.

He laughed to himself and thought that the requirements for a Spell Cultivator were much higher than a Body Cultivator. There were so many more methods to learn. He realized that a mage is always going to be a mage. He stopped his wandering thoughts and stretched his body. He sat down on a nearby futon and summoned his spirit ring.

He let it settle over him and closed his eyes to focus. He set a small goal for himself. Before he finished his seclusion, he wanted to be able to use all the modules in the ring skillfully. He also wanted to engrave the module for the Undead Demigod Plane onto his spirit ring.

Meanwhile, in Capital City, things were different. Inside a normal restaurant, two figures sat by a window on the second floor. They were watching the busy street below while they ate and drank. These two were Da Ming and Er Ming. They were there because a certain God King had ordered them to kill a specific person.

Er Ming looked very annoyed. He slapped a letter down on the table with a look of disdain. The letter was from that little punk again. It was basically asking why they hadn't killed the target yet. The letter urged them to move faster and even threatened that he would turn hostile if they didn't finish the job soon.

Da Ming remained calm. He looked at Er Ming and spoke in a steady voice. He told Er Ming to watch his words because the person sending the letters was a God King after all.

Er Ming just pouted. He complained that he didn't see him as a real God King. He felt the guy was just bossing them around for three months and sending them to their deaths while he stayed safe and comfortable.

Da Ming looked at Er Ming and shook his head. He spoke in an indifferent tone. He reminded Er Ming that even though they were Spirit Beasts, their power had reached the level of a God. However, according to the rules of the God Realm, the God King could kill them whenever he wanted. No one would stop him. To that God King, they were just like ants.

Er Ming stopped talking. He didn't have anything to say to that. He just felt grumpy and continued to drink his drink. Da Ming sighed and asked if Er Ming had found where Kong Mingan was staying.

Er Ming told him that he hadn't found anything. It seemed like someone was hiding the target's location on purpose. There were rumors he was at the Sun Moon army camp, but when they checked, it turned out to be false.

Da Ming felt a little relieved to hear that. He said that if they couldn't find him, then there was nothing they could do. They had tried their best. Since Tang San had a reason to kill them at any moment, they had to come to Capital City. Even without his Divine Sense in their minds, they felt they had no choice but to follow the mission.

But Da Ming realized there was a way to handle this. He noticed that Tang San couldn't watch the Douluo Plane all the time like he used to. He could only look at it once in a while. This gave them a chance to stall for time. They had managed to drag things out for a year and a half already. As long as the target didn't show up right in front of them, they would keep waiting.

Da Ming had a strong feeling about this. He believed that if they kept stalling, they might survive a little longer. They just had to wait until the God King lost his patience. But he also felt that if they actually attacked the target, things would end badly for them. He decided it was better to just let things happen naturally.
