The sound of metal hitting glass filled the now quiet ballroom. Everyone turned to look up at the king who was now standing near the balcony railing.
"Today marks the introduction of our young ladies into society, and it also marks the beginning of my youngest son's engagement to the saintess. As the king....."
I tuned out whatever he was saying. Most of it was just self-praise and raising the church's prestige even more. If the crown accepts the church some of the nobles might just join their side.
The king finished his speech and both the prince and the saintess came down from his side and stood in the middle of the dance floor. The orchestra started.
I had to admit they were a beautiful pair, golden and white. As they twirled around the dance floor, the saintess princess's gown flared around.
"Do you want to dance again?"
I leaned in and asked Seraph over the loud music. People had started to join the dance with the two couples in the middle.
