Lavenia's POV
I stared straight ahead at the front of the classroom. Hero was explaining the course he was teaching, while I was still thinking about what Alex had said the other day.
I didn't immediately agree or refuse his request. It made sense for him, also for me, to go along with it. But what if what he considered a myth was actually real, and after I decided to run away with him, everyone—not just Alex and me, but also Ray, Hero, and Jax—would suffer the consequences of a sin they didn't commit?
In the end, I asked him to leave without wanting to hear any explanation.
Alex used to be the first to deny everything and the most skeptical about my pregnancy, then became the most mysterious among the rest while showing no interest in me at the same time—but then, feeling that fate was unfair, he just showed up on a whim to take me away.
So selfish!
"Miss Howls, come to my office now," said Hero, which instantly snapped me out of my daydream.
