Lavenia's POV
"Whoa! Rayden, stop!" I rushed toward Dad and spread my arms in front of Rayden, who seemed serious with his Glock Meyer. "You want to kill my dad? Seriously?"
He turned the gun he was pointing at Dad, then put it in its holster, but not the one pointed at Damien.
"So it's okay if I pull the trigger on his head?" Rayden asked, and I just shrugged.
"Lav? Are you seriously letting him kill me?" Damien asked, looking at me and the four men who he probably thought were crazy. "You guys are insane."
Well, right? He would definitely accuse me of being insane, and indeed, I felt crazy for having slept with four men at once and now being confused as to which of those men's sperm had fertilized my womb.
"I-I didn't mean it that way." I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration, then raised my hands. "Let's continue this discussion calmly. No weapons, no anger, okay?"
Rayden remained unmoved even though I had said that. So, I approached him and grabbed the gun in his hand while looking up at his tense face.
"Rayden, please..." I pleaded. He raised one eyebrow, then unexpectedly, his hand quickly grabbed my waist and only then did he put his weapon away.
"Just so you know, I won't be this obedient to anyone else or any other woman. Only you, Lavenia." I rolled my eyes and broke free from his embrace. He turned to Damien with a sarcastic look, then said, "You know now. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't let you live."
He then turned to Dad. "Especially you. How could a father throw his beautiful daughter to a scumbag like him? Are you willing to let your daughter be cheated on for the rest of her life as his wife?"
My father was silent, but not because he was afraid. He had even fought a gang of rogues alone, so it was impossible for him to be afraid of the threats from a reckless man like Rayden.
However, he couldn't deny that Rayden's rhetorical question made sense. Why did my father insist that I marry Damien even though I had told him repeatedly that he had betrayed me?
"In fact, it is Lavenia who has betraying. With four men, no less," Dad muttered.
"It was unintentional," Hero retorted. "It would be different if she did it on purpose. So, the comparison is still not appropriate. Lavenia is not a cheater, while Damien is the unfaithful one."
"All right... let's put it this way." I stopped the heated debate between my father, who was on Damien's side, and several men who were clearly on my side. "Since we can't find common ground, I think we should end this conversation. The four of you... go home. I'm sure you have a lot of things to do."
I sighed heavily, then turned to leave, but the six men in the room stopped me at the same time.
"What else? Aren't you sick of everything that's been happening in this house since earlier? We won't get anything out of this conversation except a power struggle that will only end up hurting each other," I said desperately. "I don't want to continue this."
"Then what about your pregnancy? Which one of us four will take responsibility?" asked Hero, who usually calm, but when it came to this one thing, he always seemed anxious. I don't know why.
"Of course I will take responsibility for the baby. I'm the father," Jaxon replied, not wanting to be outdone by the others.
The problem was, it wasn't a matter of who was fastest. It was about the facts, whose DNA matched the baby in my womb.
"You're too confident, Blonde. I don't need to tell you about what happened that night, do I? You all know who—"
"Wait! If you think that whoever was there first or had the most opportunities to thrust and enter her is the pup's father, that's not always the case," Hero interjected. "Position. Sometimes that's what determines it."
I sighed again. And again, while the three of them argued over whose sperm was most likely to have impregnated me, Dr. Lane remained silent.
At first, I thought he wouldn't say anything at all. But in the end, he cleared his throat.
"Ahem! All this time, I've been listening silently to your nonsense theories that you hope will win you the title of the baby's daddy. But have you ever thought that the one who is most uncertain is actually the father?"
All eyes were on Dr. Lane, the cold, blue-eyed man who had never said much from the start.
Unconsciously, a smile appeared on my face.
Although everything was still uncertain, hearing Dr. Lane admit that he also recognized this baby made me feel relieved.
"Well, since Dr. Lane has claimed this baby too, I have my answer now," I said, causing them all to turn their heads toward me.
"Remember, Lav... whoever you choose, you have to stay with me," Rayden replied, making me swallow hard.
Not only Rayden, but the other alphas also voiced their demands. They had said it that night, but I couldn't remember any of their requests clearly.
Two men wanted me to be their luna, which meant only one could have me. Rayden wanted to be with me no matter who I choose—it was too ridiculous to even consider. Then what about Dr. Lane?
Ah, yes... he was the most selfish of them all. He wanted me to choose only him and be his one and only. It seemed he was a believer in monogamy, while the other three... were a little doubtful.
Thinking about their conditions and remembering that everything was written in our agreement made me curse myself.
I was too drunk at the time to think clearly, that not all requests could be granted. Now that it's come to this, what should I do? Breaking the agreement means new problems, and I think I have to open and re-examine the contents of the ridiculous contract I made that night.
Six men stared at me intently, waiting for my decision right now. I couldn't possibly choose any of them, could I?
"Lav, my daughter... you don't have to choose if none of them catch your attention," my dad said, as if trying to convince me not to choose any of them except Damien, of course.
Well, if he insisted that I had to marry Damien, then I'd rather choose these four alphas. Having to serve all four of them every night feels much better than spending my whole life with a cheater.
"Whatever my choice is, no one is allowed to protest or make it difficult," I said, responding to my dad's words. "Including you, Dad."
I looked at each of them one by one, then after making up my mind, I finally spoke.
"I think it's okay if I give birth to this baby alone because choosing one of you four is difficult. You are all wonderful," I said then nodded. "Try harder to win my heart. When this baby is born and it's clear who the father is, then if fate says I have to choose, I will choose. But if not... I won't choose any of you."
