Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: Power Classification

Roya deeply agreed with what Zephyr had said.

Soru was a physical technique that enabled instantaneous high-speed movement, while Geppo was a technique that involved stepping on the air to move freely in midair. These two techniques were not only useful to him, but to almost anyone.

Moreover, not just anyone was qualified to train in the Rokushiki. The threshold for training the Six Powers was extremely high—almost on par with training Haki. One needed nearly "inhuman" physical ability to even be eligible.

At present, Roya clearly met those requirements.

In Roya's estimation, his current strength already met at least the standard of a Marine Captain.

Power rankings in this world were relatively chaotic, so in order to measure strength differences more clearly and intuitively, Roya directly adopted Marine ranks as a benchmark for power levels.

Ranks below Marine Captain were almost meaningless. Even among Captains, the disparity in strength could be enormous. As such, Roya did not deliberately evaluate anything below that level. Above Marine Captain was Commodore.

Then followed Branch Rear Admiral, Headquarters Rear Admiral, Branch Vice Admiral, Headquarters Vice Admiral, Quasi-Admiral, and Marine Admiral.

Among these, the gap between a Branch Rear Admiral and a Headquarters Rear Admiral was substantial. Likewise, there were significant differences between Headquarters Rear Admiral and Branch Vice Admiral, and between Branch Vice Admiral and Headquarters Vice Admiral.

Once reaching Headquarters Vice Admiral and above, the gaps in strength began to narrow.

There was no actual rank of Quasi-Admiral within the Marines. This was a classification Roya added himself in order to more precisely place the strength of certain individuals.

In Roya's view, figures such as Whitebeard Pirates First Division Commander Marco the Phoenix, Third Division Commander Diamond Jozu, the three Calamities of the Beasts Pirates, the Four Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates, and Doflamingo all belonged at this level.

As for Marine Admirals, there was no need for further explanation. As for the Four Emperors…

Based on fragments of memory from the storyline, Roya still found it difficult to judge their exact strength. His intuition, however, was that when a Four Emperor faced a Marine Admiral, even if it was not a crushing victory, the Emperor's odds of winning were likely higher.

Whether that was truly the case would be known once he tested it personally in the future, so Roya did not dwell on the matter.

After all, it was still somewhat distant for him at present—at the very least, he would need to fully release Ryūjin Jakka first.

"Given your talent, even though my explanation was relatively brief, you should be able to understand it. If there's anything you don't understand, you can ask now."

Zephyr had concisely explained the training methods for Soru and Geppo among the Rokushiki. Seeing that Roya did not display any confusion or bewilderment, he nodded slightly.

Roya had indeed understood.

As someone who had transmigrated, his comprehension ability far exceeded that of people in this world. Moreover, Zephyr's explanation was less "brief" than it was clear and straightforward—so clear that almost no deep pondering was required to grasp it fully.

Even though he understood everything, Roya still asked several questions.

These questions were not about Soru or Geppo, but rather about certain details in daily training. He had previously asked Garp about them as well, but Garp's answers had been vague, leaving Roya with only a partial understanding.

After hearing Roya's questions, Zephyr considered them briefly before answering. Each answer was extremely clear, causing flashes of realization to appear in Roya's eyes from time to time.

After answering another question, Zephyr looked at Roya patiently, showing no trace of impatience, and asked again:

"Any other questions?"

"Not this time. Thank you, Instructor Zephyr."

Roya had now asked all the questions he had accumulated over this period—questions Garp had not been able to answer clearly. Zephyr had answered every one of them, thoroughly and clearly. Thus, this address of "Instructor Zephyr" was spoken with genuine sincerity.

"Teaching students is my responsibility. There's no need to thank me—just focus on your training," Zephyr replied with a slight smile, hearing the sincerity in Roya's tone. "All right, since there are no more questions, you can head out and call Drake in."

"Understood."

Roya nodded and left the small training ground.

As soon as he entered the main hall outside, he saw Elite Camp veterans and newcomers like Drake gathered together. It seemed that even after Zephyr's reprimand, some veterans were still continuing to "temper" the new recruits.

In fact, this had already become a convention in the Elite Camp.

Every newcomer was a top-tier figure from the regular camp, proud and self-assured. After arriving at the Elite Camp, they often retained that arrogance. As a result, the veterans would usually "educate" the newcomers first.

This kind of tempering was necessary. After all, the Elite Camp carried out real combat missions, fighting genuine pirates. If one remained overly arrogant and careless, thinking it was the same as the regular camp, it could easily lead to losing one's life.

For this reason, Zephyr had only verbally reprimanded Very Good for provoking Roya and the others, without issuing any substantive punishment. This was effectively turning a blind eye.

When Roya reached the area where the crowd had gathered, he saw that Very Good seemed to have further provoked Drake after Roya had left. Drake was clearly struggling to restrain himself, and a fight looked imminent.

However, Roya had no interest whatsoever in this confrontation.

He had just obtained the training methods for the Rokushiki and for Observation and Armament Haki from Zephyr. He was feeling excited and eager to find a place to begin training.

"Drake, Instructor Zephyr is calling for you."

Thus, with just that one sentence from Roya, the battle that was about to erupt was abruptly stopped.

Drake shot a cold glance at Very Good in front of him, snorted, then turned to ask Roya a brief question before walking off in the direction Roya had come from.

"What the hell… such a hassle. Sparring wouldn't even take that long…"

Seeing this, Very Good showed a helpless expression and muttered to himself. Still, he only complained verbally—he did not dare interfere with Zephyr summoning Drake.

After delivering Zephyr's message, Roya turned around and prepared to leave.

At that moment—

Very Good suddenly stepped forward, crossed his arms over his chest, and blocked Roya's path. Looking at him, he said, "Hey! You bastard. You didn't dare spar with me yourself, and now you've even had my opponent called away. What exactly are you trying to do?!"

"Don't block my way."

Roya spoke calmly and continued walking forward.

Seeing this, Very Good immediately grinned. "Heh. I'll block it anyway. What are you going to do about it?"

Roya raised his head and looked at Very Good, who was deliberately blocking him, and spoke indifferently.

"So, you really want to spar?"

This time, it seemed a fight was truly about to begin. Seeing this, both the new recruits and the veterans stepped back, clearing out an area.

"How many moves do you think this year's number-one regular camp recruit can last against Very Good?"

"I bet ten moves."

"He's still the strongest newcomer, after all. Even if Very Good doesn't hold back, he should last at least thirty moves, right?"

The veterans watched the scene with great interest, their faces full of anticipation as they enjoyed the spectacle.
