Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: The Nursery Is Built – and an Order from Cyllage City

This new discovery wouldn't make much difference right now—after all, there was no one in Pelican Town to battle Ron.

But once he reached Kalos, it would likely prove useful.

So Ron only glanced at it briefly before refocusing on the Skill tab.

Professional specializations still existed: at Skill Level 5, one could choose a specialization—like Rancher or Tiller for Farming.

Rancher boosted animal product prices by 20%; Tiller increased crop value by 10%.

But judging by current progress, reaching Level 5 would take a while.

As for why the former farm owner had transferred all skill progression from himself to Pokémon in exchange for a path to Kalos—the reason was obvious:

It was far more efficient to employ Pokémon as unpaid laborers who only needed food, rather than doing everything himself.

The only downside was losing direct access to certain crafting blueprints—slightly inconvenient, but manageable.

Then Ron remembered what the Wizard had said: the potion had unlocked Aura within him.

A wild idea struck him.

He aimed his Pokédex at his own hand—and punched the nearest tree.

That familiar energy surged from his core.

The Pokédex instantly chimed:

[Aura Sphere]

[Generates Aura power within the body and launches it at the target. This move never misses.]

Ron stood frozen for a long moment.

Suddenly, a dozen things that had felt "off" finally made sense.

His strength was greater than he'd expected.

His stamina far exceeded his past self's limits.

Was this… the power of a Super Stardew-ian?

---

When Ron returned to the farm, the Nursery had just reached completion.

Robin wiped sweat from her brow and pointed to Machoke. "Hammer in that last nail, and we're done!"

Machoke pounded away with renewed vigor.

She exhaled in relief—and turned just as Ron entered through the south gate, lost in thought.

"Ron! Your Nursery's finished!" she called out.

As he approached, she couldn't hide a hint of pride. "I installed everything you'll need—individual stalls for each Pokémon…"

She opened the door, gesturing inside. "Feeding stations, water dispensers, an Egg Incubator—fully equipped."

"Thank you."

"Don't mention it." Robin waved it off, then clapped his shoulder. "I'll be waiting for you to ask me to renovate your house next."

For Robin, a proper home—functional, stable—carried a meaning others might not grasp.

It was like signing a contract with life itself: I'm staying. I'm building something here.

Her only regret? She'd never had the chance to build a real house for Penny and Pam.

At this point, she wouldn't be surprised if Penny finally left Pelican Town altogether.

"It'll happen," Ron said. He took the opportunity to ask about the cost and materials needed for a Coop and Barn, then watched Robin and Machoke leave.

Once they were gone, he pulled out his Pokédex—the one that had been softly chiming for a while.

A notification popped up:

[Task 1: Ask Robin to build you a Nursery (1/1) – COMPLETED]

Reward:

– 1x Ditto Egg

– 1x Kalos Breeding License

– 1x Trade Computer

Ron tapped Claim.

Instantly, inside the hut appeared:

—a computer

—a certificate addressed to Ron, Pelican Town

—and an Egg.

Spotting the incubator in the corner, Ron placed the Ditto Egg inside.

Warm yellow light flooded the chamber.

He turned to the computer, powered it on—and was prompted to register his Breeding Facility using the license details.

---

Meanwhile, in Cyllage City, Kalos – Pokémon Research Institute

Grant, Cyllage City's Rock-type Gym Leader, lounged in the corner, watching his assistant frantically register new Trainers for the season.

"Why not just send them to Professor Sycamore?" Grant tossed his cloak over his shoulder. "Honestly, do we even need a local branch?"

"Too many rookies this year," the assistant panted, barely keeping up. "The route's dangerous—we can't spare escorts, and we can't send kids alone. Professor Sycamore's swamped too."

Grant stood and walked over to the computer, watching as the assistant contacted breeding facilities across Kalos.

Suddenly, a new facility pinged on-screen: Pelican Town Breeding Center.

Grant paused, recognizing the name. He tapped it. "Have we reached out to this one yet?"

---

Back in Pelican Town, the moment Ron finished registration, an order notification popped up—from Cyllage City.

More than an order, it was a desperate plea:

Please provide a few gentle, beginner-friendly Pokémon for our new Trainers.

Requirements:

– Level 5

– Untamed (no prior battle training)

– Temperament: calm and companionable

– Species: any

– Ability Rating: Above Average or higher

Deadline: One month.

Ron studied the request.

The Ability Rating wasn't a problem—if he put newborn Pokémon to work on the farm, they'd quickly earn enough experience.

He might even raise one with perfect IVs and an "Outstanding" rating.

The reward prices for each rating tier were clearly listed.

The only relief? They weren't asking for starter Pokémon.

Because right now, Ron only had one Froakie.

He accepted the order.

---

"YES!!!" the assistant in Cyllage City cheered. "A breeding facility finally accepted our request!"

Grant kept staring at the name Pelican Town. After a long silence, he turned. "Hey… where is Pelican Town? Doesn't that name ring a bell?"

The assistant blinked, pulled up his Pokédex map, and began searching.

His face paled.

There was no "Pelican Town" on any Kalos map.
