The guardian's presence filled the room, but Alan stepped forward instead of backing away. Iyargut formed in his right hand, glowing faintly, while the Book of Akashic appeared in his left, its pages turning on their own. He looked at the guardian and spoke simply, "Let's fight."
Both moved at the same time. "Shadow Step." Alan blurred forward as the guardian released "Arc Light Burst.""Wind Barrier."Boom—! The magic collided, and Alan pushed through.
They closed the distance instantly.
CLANG—!
Their swords met, the impact cracking the ground beneath them. The guardian followed with a heavy downward strike. Alan redirected it to the side, and the blade smashed into the floor. He countered with a horizontal cut—Clang—blocked.
"Radiant Pulse."Boom—! A wave of light spread at close range.
"Shadow Veil." The force dispersed as Alan stepped forward again. "Flame Edge." Fire wrapped around his blade as he struck—Clang. Sparks scattered as the guardian blocked and pushed forward.
Alan adjusted and stepped in again. The guardian swung wide. He ducked under it.
"Lightning Arc."Crack—! The strike hit the armor, light flashing across its surface.
The guardian responded with "Prism Strike." Beams fell from above.
"Shadow Step." Alan moved through them—Boom. Boom.—and appeared to the side. He thrust forward—Clang. Blocked, but a small crack appeared on the armor.
The guardian raised both weapons. Magic circles formed.
A strike came down—
"Light Cannon."
"Wind Shift." Alan moved aside as the beam passed and stepped back in. Close range again.
CLANG—! CLANG—!
Fast exchanges followed. Sword met sword while magic burst between them.
"Flame Burst."Boom."Radiant Pulse."Boom.
The chamber shook with each collision. Alan deflected the greatsword and moved closer, striking again—Clang. Blocked. Another strike—Clang.
The guardian continued to defend, but the movements between sword and magic grew slightly slower.
Alan raised his hand.
"Piercing Bolt."CRACK—!
The lightning hit at close range. The guardian's body flickered for a moment.
Alan stepped in and swung Iyargut toward the cracked part of the armor.
Iyargut struck toward the cracked armor—Clang—! The guardian blocked, but the crack deepened. Alan stayed close and attacked again—Clang. Clang. Each strike landed on the same spot, forcing the guardian to adjust its stance. It pushed back with force, making Alan slide a short distance before he steadied himself.
"Radiant Pulse."Boom—! A wave spread outward.
"Shadow Veil." The impact dispersed as Alan stepped through and closed the distance again. The guardian brought its greatsword down—Boom. The ground shattered as Alan moved to the side and avoided it.
"Lightning Arc."Crack—! The strike hit the same damaged area. The armor flickered, and the fracture widened.
"Prism Strike."Beams fell from above—Boom. Boom. Alan moved between them with small steps and returned to close range.
The guardian attacked with both sword and magic."Light Cannon."
"Wind Shift." Alan moved slightly off the line as the beam passed. The sword followed—
CLANG—! He blocked and was pushed back half a step, then moved in again.
He struck toward the crack—Clang. Blocked. Another strike from a different angle—Clang. The guard shifted slightly.
"Flame Burst."Boom. The explosion forced the guardian back, its body flickering more as the crack spread across its chest.
Energy gathered again around its staff.
"Shadow Step." Alan appeared in front of it.
"Piercing Bolt."CRACK—! The lightning hit the same spot. The armor broke further, forming a deeper fracture as light leaked out.
The guardian staggered back one step.
The guardian stepped back once, then released its staff. The light faded from its hand, leaving only the greatsword. The flow of mana around it changed, becoming heavier and focused on the blade.
Alan noticed and adjusted his grip on Iyargut. The Book of Akashic disappeared as he prepared to fight with only his sword.
The guardian moved first. Faster than before.
CLANG—!
Their swords collided. The impact was stronger, but Alan held his ground. The guardian continued with another strike, then another, keeping a steady flow of attacks.
Alan responded with "Madra Swordsmanship." His movements became cleaner as he deflected instead of blocking directly. The greatsword slid past him, and he stepped in with a short cut—Clang. Blocked.
The guardian countered immediately, but Alan redirected it and shifted his footwork.
"Madra Sword Dance."
His movement became lighter. He stepped to the side and struck—Clang. Then another angle—Clang. The rhythm tightened.
The guardian swung again with force. Alan moved past it and struck toward the side—Clang. The impact pushed the guardian slightly off balance.
Alan followed.
Step. Strike.Step. Strike.
The attacks connected continuously, keeping the pressure steady.
The guardian brought its sword down with force. Alan guided it off line and moved inside, striking toward the cracked armor—Clang. Partially blocked, but the crack spread.
The guardian stepped back, then forward again, its swings faster and heavier. Alan matched it, maintaining a steady rhythm.
CLANG—! CLANG—! CLANG—!
Sparks scattered with each collision. The guardian swung wide to break the flow. Alan stepped back slightly, then stepped in again, changing his angle mid-motion. The first movement drew a reaction—the second strike landed.
Clang—!
The crack deepened.
"Madra Sword Dance."
Alan moved around the guardian again, striking from different angles—Clang. Clang. Each hit targeted the same point. The guardian blocked, but slower now, its stance shifting slightly as the pressure continued.
Alan raised Iyargut and stepped forward again, continuing the attack.
Alan stepped forward again, bringing Iyargut down at the same spot—Clang—! The guardian blocked, but he followed immediately with a strike from the side—Clang—and then a thrust—Clang. Each attack pushed the guardian back slightly, even as it held its ground.
The guardian swung wide to break the rhythm. Alan stepped back just enough to avoid it, then moved in again before the motion finished. He aimed at the cracked area—Clang. Partially blocked, but the fracture widened.
The guardian shifted its grip and brought the sword down. Alan guided the blade to the side and stepped into close range. He struck again—Clang. Then another—Clang.
The distance between them closed further as the exchanges became tighter, their blades colliding continuously.
