Chapter 11 - First Hunt II

The moment Alan entered, dozens of crimson eyes locked onto him.

The Kobold Shaman screeched sharply.

"Shiwiek!"

(Kill that human!)

The Kobold Warriors charged.

Seeing the overwhelming numbers, Alan calmly switched weapons.

Dainsleif appeared in his grasp—and instantly, he felt it.

The more enemies before him, the more terrifying his attack power became.

Alan activated his skills in rapid succession.

"I got some great drops from the final boss and his army," Alan smiled as he looked at the loot, storing everything into his inventory while instantly learning Lesser Flame Hex.

With enough materials to last him for some time, Alan exited the dungeon and headed back.

Returning to Khan's Smithy, he paused, surprised. The place was noticeably cleaner than before.

"Khan?" Alan called out.

Khan emerged from the back, wiping his hands.

"Oh, you're back," he said.

Alan looked at him carefully. Khan no longer looked like a broken alcoholic.

"Are you going back to crafting equipment?" Alan asked.

Khan nodded.

"Yes. You were right. I shouldn't waste myself like this."

"So I started cleaning the smithy to reopen it," he added.

Alan nodded in approval.

"Can I use your smithy?" Alan asked.

Khan smiled and bowed his head slightly.

"Yes, please. It would be my honor."

Alan thanked him and stepped forward.

"Alright then," Alan said as he lit the furnace.

"Let's see if I can finally craft my first Epic-rank equipment."

He began working immediately, taking out red gems, black iron, and other refined materials he had gathered.

After another month…

Alan stared at the results before him.

Five Rare-rank swords.

Seven Uncommon-rank swords.

Three Common-rank swords.

Not a single Epic.

"Why isn't there even one Epic?" he muttered, frustration creeping into his voice.

Normally, he wouldn't be angry. But now that he no longer gained stat rewards from crafting items, the lack of progress felt far more irritating than before.

"But… I did create more Rare-rank items this time," Alan muttered, looking over the weapons laid out before him, wondering what had caused the change.

He sat down to the side and opened the game forum, scrolling through discussions and guides. It didn't take long before he found the answer.

"So the higher the player's level, the higher the chance of crafting higher-rank equipment…"

Reading the information, his lips twisted.

"Fuck," Alan muttered. "If I'd known that, I wouldn't have wasted this much time."

How could I forget something this important? he thought, annoyed with himself.

Standing up, he clenched his fist.
