Chapter 338 - Chapter 328: The Silent King: It's Over. Everything Is Over!!

The person who assaulted Trazyn was Datch.

He gently lifted the hand wearing the Infinity Gauntlet; after thinking a little…

They had completely taken into their hands a legendary ruler of the Warhammer world.

The Player's power was something a mere NPC could not possibly resist.

Trazyn roared and struggled, yet it was useless.

He could find no fulcrum and could not use his own power. He could only hang upside down.

After struggling for a while, he at last stopped moving, as if he had accepted fate.

"Old friend, stop useless resistance." Orikan approached, holding a faintly shining metal staff.

Those pupils releasing emerald-green light exposed excitement and joy that could not be hidden.

He had long awaited this day.

Trazyn, I have already become an underling of the Nameless Ones, and you still intend not to get involved? What on earth are you thinking?!

"Accept fate and serve the great nameless existence together with me."

"Even if I, Trazyn, die and am smashed to pieces, I will never become a traitor like you."

"Orikan, you are a vile, shameless scoundrel."

Trazyn roared at Orikan. By the upside-down posture and anger, his living-metal face twisted unnaturally and floated an unshakable expression of defiance.

Orikan floated a cunning expression and raised a cold, mocking laugh.

He and Trazyn had known each other since the age of those who bring death.

He knew his long-sworn enemy's temperament and character in every corner and could grasp the other party's emotional rises and falls with exact accuracy.

"Trazyn, you had better not take such a categorical attitude. Do you no longer need the planet Solemnace?"

Trazyn glared at Orikan and said in a voice full of anger.

"You thief, what are you doing?"

"Heh heh heh. Trazyn, you wouldn't want Solemnace to be taken apart by me, would you? Of course I would like to do that too."

When Orikan's staff lightly struck the ground, a hologram appeared from nowhere; a series of high-definition images floated up.

The image projected was none other than the planet Trazyn had longed for all along — Solemnace.

This museum he had built with such care housed numerous historically important relics and specimens.

The day he lost Solemnace, he even felt there was no longer meaning in living.

His only purpose was to find the thief Orikan.

"Submit to the Nameless Ones, Trazyn. Otherwise you will lose your planet Solemnace and have your memory forcibly read."

"Vile thief!" Trazyn cursed in a hoarse voice. His upside-down metal body shook violently in the air yet could not escape control.

"Orikan, what you have done is truly terrible!" Trazyn shouted. "I never imagined you were such a vile human."

"Haha. Thank you for the praise." Orikan shrugged casually and dismissed the hologram.

"If you do not submit to the Nameless Ones, I will blow up the planet Solemnace."

By Orikan's coercion and temptation, Trazyn at last yielded, swore loyalty to the Nameless Ones, and taught them the locations of the star-god fragments.

As a reward for surrender, Datch returned the planet Solemnace to Trazyn.

However, it was not moving the planet out of the Room of Requirement; it only gave Trazyn the right to come and go freely.

Trazyn felt he was completely dominated by the other party and was somewhat dissatisfied, yet he had no choice but to accept fate.

Eventually Trazyn noticed that following the Nameless Ones was, unexpectedly, not a bad thing.

Trazyn's favourite thing was digging up tombs of various worlds and searching for treasures of collectible value and things of historical importance.

The star-gods, who had once been members of the terrible ones and protagonists of the War in Heaven, had always been things he wished to collect; therefore he naturally knew well the places where they were imprisoned.

In a dwarf galaxy at the very edge of the Milky Way, a long-forgotten Necron fortress slept.

Deep in the galactic centre, countless ancient prison-planets of thousands of years' history had been drawn and shaken by gravity again and again.

He knew every place in every corner.

Led by Trazyn, Datch used the Infinity Gauntlet to open spatial portals one after another, travelled to various places in the galaxy, and gathered fragments of star-gods.

After the War in Heaven ended, the Silent King Szarekh had led his people, betrayed the star-gods, smashed them to pieces, and imprisoned them.

Thus, many powerful Necron dynasties had become guardians of star-god fragments.

These dynasties had all been famous and powerful forces in the past.

This time, however, they came to face the Nameless One and a coalition of many star-gods.

Even having slept sixty million years and having declined greatly in power, they were no match at all for this team at its peak and would be easily defeated.

The imprisoned star-god fragments were liberated, reconstructed into complete form, and recovered the state of their former zenith.

Unlike before, these star-gods were enslaved by the Nameless Ones and became members of their pet army.

From time to time, one or two tough opponents appeared. After liberation, their first reaction was not to express gratitude or show submission but to roar and launch an attack on the nameless opponent.

As a result, they were all humiliated by the coalition of star-gods beginning with Zarhulash and the Void Dragon and enslaved.

Trazyn used this opportunity to obtain many precious collections as well.

This gave him great confidence; he came to believe that with time he would surely realise his dream.

To build the most magnificent and comprehensive historical museum in the Milky Way — indeed in the entire universe.

Hey, won't you tell the Stormlord and the Silent King that I have now become one of the Nameless Ones? I don't want them to come looking for me any more. The Nameless Ones might misunderstand.

Overlord Zarhulash and the Void Dragon also continually sought lost fragments during this operation, strengthened themselves, and returning to their former peak was no longer an impossible goal.

...

On the surface of a nameless planet, magnificent structures carved from living metal stood in rows.

This was not territory of a Necron kingdom but the territory of the Nightbringer, chief of the star-gods.

The Nightbringer, who had escaped the prisons the Necrons dominated, had enslaved a group of Necrons and established his own force.

He used this power to continue conquest, executed the "Crimson Harvest" in order to obtain flesh and soul. At the same time, he also gathered his own fragments, recovered former glory, and prepared to take revenge on the undying of the universe.

Unfortunately, before that plan was realised, Datch came knocking at the door, leading a group of obedient star-gods.

The Void Dragon leapt out first from the teleport portal and spoke with the Nightbringer.

"Aza'gorod, submit to the Nameless Ones at once!" the Void Dragon shouted toward the Nightbringer; that voice echoed on the planet's living-metal surface.

"Pitiful cowards who fawn on apes." Sensing the newcomers' hostility, the Nightbringer brandished a gigantic scythe, floated into the air, and faced Datch and his party.

The Nightbringer looked like a gigantic mechanical cosmic reaper with the ability to loose interstellar lightning.

Rumour had it that the recognition that the concept of death is synonymous with "the hooded scythe-man" was a memory of terror planted in every living thing that exists in the galaxy.

"No need to waste words with such a fellow! Come, everyone, attack!" Zarhulash shouted in irritation and charged.

Seeing this, the other star-gods also joined the fight and together surrounded the Nightbringer.

"Traitors!" the Nightbringer roared, swinging the gigantic scythe while fighting the Void Dragon and the other star-gods.

Aza'gorod the Nightbringer, the first star-god to take form, was also the most powerful star-god.

It had been the most terrible existence in the War in Heaven; it had massacred countless ancient psyker legions, destroyed planets, and extinguished stars.

However, even if the Nightbringer was unimaginably powerful, it could not possibly stand against the combined attack of the star-gods.

After fierce, brutal combat, the energy shockwaves generated destroyed countless buildings.

The Nightbringer was driven to the ground by the joint attack of numerous star-gods.

The gigantic living-metal shell smashed through the metal covering the ground and created a crater several kilometres in diameter.

Seeing the Nightbringer defeated, Datch took out a Master Ball and threw it at the other party.

The Master Ball drew a beautiful arc in the air, struck the Nightbringer's brow with exact aim; its light wrapped him in an instant.

The Nightbringer was spun round and sucked into the sphere.

The Master Ball closed, bounced several times on landing; the indicator lamp changed from red to green, confirming capture.

When summoned again, the Nightbringer still tried to resist and tried to cut down the Nameless One with the scythe.

The invisible force of the rules activated in an instant; it received pain that cannot be expressed in words and was forced to kneel before Datch.

After enduring numerous pains, the Nightbringer at last accepted fate and lost the courage to resist any longer.

"Now the star-god fragments scattered across the galaxy have almost all gathered here." Trazyn walked up beside the Nameless One and spoke in a tone full of respect, in contrast to the arrogant undying ruler he had once been.

"The only thing lacking is the Burning One — Nyadra'zatha — bound to the throne of the Silent King."

Trazyn continued. "I propose we choose the Silent King as the next target."

When Trazyn mentioned the Silent King, his tone became extremely excited.

Trazyn had long wanted Szarekh's throne and wanted to house it in the museum.

However, because of the other party's position, he had not been able to act.

The Silent King was the nominal supreme ruler of the entire Necron civilisation and the last symbol of the authority of the terrible dead. Angering him must never be permitted.

However, now the situation was different. He was receiving the Nameless One's favour.

Forget Szarekh's throne. Even Szarekh himself will probably have to become a specimen in my museum.

Ideally, the Stormlord and the Silent King should be captured together and sent to the museum as specimens. That would be perfect.

After thinking a little, Datch also felt Trazyn's point was reasonable.

The main story was at present preparing for the final battle with the four Chaos Gods.

Before that, defeating the Silent King, obtaining the Burning One's fragment, and strengthening the pet army was a very valuable decision.

That said, the anti-daemon domain the other party had created must also be dealt with. It cannot be allowed to hinder my perfect ending.

"Then let us do as you say. First we will settle the Silent King and obtain the Burning One's fragment."

Nyadra'zatha had been a terrible existence in the ancient War in Heaven.

By this, the Necrons had learned the method of infiltrating the webway through dolmen gates.

It was called the Burning One because during the War in Heaven it was always trying to burn the entire soul-web and turn the ancient ones into delicious roast frogs.

After the war, this man's fate was truly tragic.

Not only was his flesh smashed to pieces; he was bound to the Silent King's throne.

He constantly had energy sucked from his own body to power Szarekh's throne and became his loyal underling.

Szarekh also stripped that creature's outer skin and used it as a cloak.

After identifying the Silent King as the next target, Datch used the Infinity Gauntlet and opened a spatial passage leading to the place where the Silent King was.

At that time the Silent King sat on the throne of the flagship Song of Oblivion and turned over in his mind how he ought to deal with the Imperium of Man and the Stormlord.

The expansion of the Imperium of Man had become a great threat to the Silent King.

Even if he could reactivate various weapons used in the War in Heaven, he still lacked confidence he could defeat the Imperium of Man.

Still more important was that the Nameless Ones lurking inside the Imperium of Man were the greatest threat.

So long as the Nameless Ones existed, the Necrons could not win.

The Stormlord was also a great problem. This fellow openly opposed him, had won many dynasties to his side, and intended to stand against him.

"When morale is low, it is hard to lead a team."

Szarekh sighed in his heart.

If the command protocols had not been destroyed, traitors like the Stormlord would not have existed.

Suddenly Szarekh felt something anomalous, raised his face with a start, and saw ripples spreading in the distance.

Scanned data indicated the spatial structure was being warped by an unknown force.

"Protect His Majesty."

The undying guards beside the throne also noticed the anomaly, immediately activated weapons, and entered combat readiness.

Space was torn; a shining spatial passage appeared.

Under the watching eyes of the Silent King Szarekh, Datch appeared from the passage together with Zarhulash, the Void Dragon, the Nightbringer, and the other star-gods.

The coming of the star-gods instantly raised an alarm across the entire Song of Oblivion and bewildered many high-ranking members of the undying.

The Song of Oblivion was the most advanced battleship the Necrons possessed and had the ability to destroy planets and stars with ease. It had also been used as a capital battleship in the war against the star-gods.

What kind of enemy on earth would cause a situation that raised the highest-level alarm on that legendary tomb-ship?

"Nightbringer, Void Dragon…"

Seeing so many complete star-gods, Szarekh's heart was filled with a violent storm and could find no peace.

At the same time, an inexpressible terror welled up in his heart.

These star-gods were all smashed to pieces at that time — why have they all returned to original now?!

These fellows will absolutely not forgive the betrayal of the undying race.

They have returned to their best state and will surely take revenge.

With present power, the Necrons had no prospect at all of defeating star-gods who had recovered their full prime.

After scanning numerous star-gods, Szarekh discovered the human Datch.

"Nameless One. You again."

In today's galaxy, only the Nameless Ones could accomplish all of this.

Who on earth is this man's true identity? His ability is truly strange and powerful.

Datch ignored the Silent King NPC's words and concentrated his gaze on the Burning One bound to the Silent King's throne. That was the main purpose for which he had come here.
