Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 : Restarting the Reactor

After clearing the Mutants from the lower deck, the Players were left with routine tasks like moving bodies and cleaning cabins.

Upon learning that Old Bird and the others were going to restart the reactor and restore Imperial Glory's operation, they all gathered to watch the excitement.

Worried that someone might cause trouble, Alex ordered Zigman, Little Fatty, Tenjiro, Twisted person, and Bald Donkey to maintain order.

He forbade these guys from interfering with Old Bird and the others' work.

If any Player attempted to maliciously disrupt this mission, they would not only be attacked but also face penalties such as account suspension and permanent blacklisting.

The reactor device lay there quietly, like a sleeping steel giant.

Only a few critical nodes flickered with faint indicator lights.

Various complex circuits and pipelines crisscrossed, like a huge, messy network.

An ordinary person would feel dizzy just looking at it.

Old Bird and Maverick spent a lot of time studying the circuits and pipelines.

They figured out the name and purpose of each node in the reactor.

Afterward, they conducted a comprehensive inspection of the entire reactor device.

They repaired circuits and replaced damaged parts.

Once confirmed to be problem-free, they injected a small amount of fuel and attempted ignition.

As the ignition command was given, the machinery roared to life.

Energy circuits on the surface of the metal matrix glowed.

Bright arcs of electricity appeared out of thin air, twisting and winding in the air.

But soon, the roaring gradually subsided, and the electric arcs also dissipated into thin air.

As expected, the ignition failed.

"Still no good?" Zigman sighed, looking at the extinguished metal matrix.

Little Fatty also showed a look of regret, "The game being too realistic isn't entirely a good thing."

Bald Donkey complained, "Even with a Doctor's touch, it's this difficult. If we didn't have Old Bird, wouldn't we be stuck in the beginner map forever?"

"That's right," Tenjiro nodded, agreeing with Bald Donkey.

Alex, standing nearby, also showed a thoughtful expression.

It seemed he needed to find a way to bring in more professional talents.

Seeing the ignition fail, Old Bird was not discouraged.

If it had succeeded on the first try, he would have suspected Tzeentch's blessing.

He carefully reviewed the manual, comparing it with the red codes appearing on the control panel.

After a long while, he revealed a relieved expression.

"The situation isn't bad; the reactor's reliability is fine."

"Only the logic circuit of the flow controller is damaged."

"The power regulation device and coupling matrix of the energy distribution module are malfunctioning."

"These can all be solved by replacing parts."

Old Bird instructed Maverick, Zack, and other Players to replace parts according to the code prompts.

He, meanwhile, adjusted the phase parameters of the matrix unit at the control panel.

He recalibrated the energy parameter coupling.

He set up new self-inspection and simulated ignition procedures.

After replacing the components, Old Bird initiated the newly set procedures several times for self-inspection and simulated ignition.

During this process, many more problems were detected.

Old Bird patiently resolved them one by one.

Until the indicators for each subsystem of the reactor on the control panel screen turned from red to green.

He then had everyone inspect all subsystems again, confirming they were truly problem-free before preparing for another ignition.

"omnissiah bless us, please bless us."

Old Bird held an aquila pendant, prayed to the Emperor, and then picked up the communicator.

"All units, attention. Ten-second countdown to ignition preparation."

"Ten, nine, eight..."

Watching the countdown, the Players' hearts became tense again.

"Three, two, one! Ignition!"

Old Bird decisively pressed the ignition button.

The roar of machinery sounded again.

The hydraulic piston assembly began to reciprocate regularly, and increasingly faster.

The core flow Guide of the reactor glowed, illuminating the metal matrix.

Energy arcs snaked like living tendrils, stimulating the fusion reaction of the internal fuel.

A low, deep hum emanated from within the reactor.

A huge amount of energy gradually converged.

Plasma formed a brilliant white sphere in the gravitational field.

Then, the energy fluctuations steadily rose under the regulation of the flow Guide.

The indicator lights at each critical node brightened, displaying rising energy indices.

In the control room, the values on the display screen climbed at an astonishing speed, finally stabilizing in the green zone.

"Energy output stable! All parameters normal!" Zack shouted excitedly, "We succeeded!"

"Continue injecting fuel, increase reactor power."

Old Bird did not relax but kept his eyes on the screen.

He only breathed a sigh of relief when the nascent star within the confinement field stabilized and continuously output energy.

Alex observed the entire process.

After confirming the reactor's successful restart, he immediately applauded Old Bird.

"Congratulations, Chief Technical Officer, you have accomplished a remarkable feat."

The other Players also cheered.

"The Doctor is awesome."

"Holy crap, this game can even repair fusion reactors. Building a Celestial Fury or a Dyson Sphere isn't just a dream now."

"Imperial Glory is back online, a new map is about to open."

"So excited."

"I want to drive Imperial Glory and drop an Exterminatus."

"..."

Old Bird wiped the sweat from his forehead, a look of satisfaction on his face.

Although this task was mentally exhausting, the sense of fulfillment upon completion was more intoxicating than romance.

Suddenly, he had a greater ambition.

What was repairing the reactor of a moon-class battleship?

Just as those guys shouted, he wanted to build Colossi, Halos, and Death Stars in this universe.

The grand structural dreams that couldn't be realized in Holy Terra (Earth/Reality), he would realize all of them in this game.

With the energy reactor restarted and power restored, Imperial Glory's various subsystems were also awakened.

The silent machinery hummed, operating according to its pre-set programs.

The entire battleship's lumen lights illuminated.

The temperature in each area rose accordingly, eventually stabilizing at a comfortable range for the human body.

Continuous vibrations were felt, and the Players perceived the battleship shaking violently.

This was Imperial Glory activating its conventional propulsion engines according to pre-set correction protocols.

It was used to adjust the battleship's posture, allowing it to hover in the void.

The augury activated.

Data spectrum scanning activated.

A large amount of detection data poured in, causing the data main control room's cogitators to constantly vibrate, with ticking sounds rising and falling.

The tactical hall's projection continuously refreshed and jumped.

It displayed the void environment where the battleship was located.

"Over here, Planet Atoma is here."

"It's only sixty million kilometers from us."

Bald Donkey shouted, pointing to a light spot on the projected map.

Upon hearing this news, the Players immediately became excited.

"The new map is about to open."

"For the Emperor."

"I wonder if Planet Atoma has pretty NPC ladies."

"I forgot the beginning, I forgot the middle, I only remember that I want to go on a killing spree. Quickly let me go to the new map."

"Planet Atoma, here we come."

"Let me see if the locals are loyal. If not, give them an Exterminatus."

In the command hall, as soon as the communication system came online, Alex sent a message to Planet Atoma.

But he received no response.

With no other option, Alex could only lead the Players to learn how to control the battleship.

After some effort, they successfully had Imperial Glory adjust its direction and fly towards Planet Atoma.

And according to the pre-set program, it entered Planet Atoma's low orbit.

During this time, Alex also continuously sent messages.

But they always vanished like a stone in the ocean, receiving no response.

Accompanied by the battleship's tremors, Imperial Glory successfully entered orbit according to the pre-set program.

Alex gathered the Players on the boarding deck and announced something to them.

"The messages sent out have received no response."

"We need to go to Planet Atoma's spaceport to see what's going on."

"Is there anyone among you who knows how to fly a Valkyrie?"

The Players widened their eyes, looking at each other.

Being Warhammer fans, they naturally knew what a Valkyrie gunship was.

The Valkyrie gunship, also known as the Valkyrie fighter or Valkyrie assault craft, is a twin-engine Imperial aircraft equipped with various weapons, durable armor, and a versatile payload.

Its powerful engines and stable operating system make it a versatile asset on the battlefield.

Besides engaging enemy forces for air superiority, it is also commonly used to deploy infantry units.

"Guide, perhaps I could try."

Everyone looked back, subconsciously making way.

A Player named Blood Pigeon (Holy Blood Pigeon) raised his hand.

"I'm a freshman at the flight academy. Although I just enrolled this year, I've had a strong interest in airplanes since I was a child."
