The sun had set, and the moon rose, its bright light illuminating the ruins of the planet's abandoned buildings. The moon was barely visible due to the numerous snowstorms, toxic winds, and clouds that shrouded it.

Inside the spire, N slept, dangling by its tail and covered by its wings. He was having a very strange dream, which jolted him awake with a start, causing him to fall to the ground.

It took N a few minutes to gather his scattered thoughts and stand on his feet. He was very puzzled by the dream because he knew that robots' dreams relied on their memories; they couldn't dream about something they hadn't done or seen before. But for him, he couldn't find anything in his memory records about this event.

He didn't think much of it; it wasn't the first time it had happened to him, and he didn't dare ask J about it because she would surely say he was just making excuses instead of working. For him, J was always like that—indifferent to everything but work. He didn't tell V either because she would surely ignore him as usual, so he convinced himself to forget about it.

when he tried to check his watch, a sound came from inside his head reminding him of the work time, as this alarm had been programmed to remind them of the time of sunset and the time of sunrise. When he turned to his coworkers, he saw that both V and J had woken up.

J and V landed on the ground, and when V was stretching her body to get rid of the effects of sleep, she immediately took out her wings and flew out of the spire to start working. Immediately and without thinking, V took out her wings and flew out of the spire to start working immediately.

For J, this was rude behavior to leave without greeting her leader, but she did not object completely. She was doing her job, so she had no problem with it.

Besides, it was not the first time she had been rude or stubborn; this was her personality, the complete opposite of N. No matter how much she tried to argue with her, she would not listen.

Speaking of N, she saw him standing in his place with the look of someone absent-minded or trying to remember something on his face. She walked over to him and said in a discordant voice, while separating his fingers in front of him, "Wake up, you fool."

Upon hearing her voice, N's mind returned to reality and he stopped remembering. He looked at J, who was standing with crossed arms, his face angry. "Ah... J... Oh, sorry, I didn't notice you. I mean, I definitely noticed you and V when you woke up, but I didn't pay attention because I was..." He stopped talking as he looked at her angry face.

Then he knew that she did not want to hear any excuses from him, especially after yesterday's punishment. He continued in a voice filled with tension, "Sorry, boss. I will start working now without delay." He took out his wings and flew out of the spire to begin his work.

When N was flying with his metal wings over the destroyed buildings, he received a message from J saying, "outspot 88, and it won't help this time, you idiot." J was sending messages to him and V and specifying hunting areas every week.

The planet was divided into more than a thousand hunting areas because before the explosion occurred, the number of worker drones was much greater than the number of humans, as the ratio was approximately one to four.

N saw the message and sighed and said, "Don't worry, boss. I will do my best and not ruin it this time."

N arrived at the desired hunting area and stood on one of the skycrapers to give him a better view of the area. He began scanning the area as his screen became like a radar. At first he did not notice anything, but movements of a foreign object towards the northeast appeared on his screen. N stopped scanning and flew with his wings towards the target.

When he reached the area, he noticed that the target was in an abandoned building. When he landed, N went and quickly scanned the place and scanned it again to make sure that the target was still inside. When he was sure that the target was He is still inside. He entered the building with a clear plan, which was to find the prey, prevent it from escaping, eliminate it, and increase his body counts so that J would not be angry with him.

The building he entered was destroyed from the inside and was full of books that were thrown on the ground. There was a frozen skeleton sitting on a desk near the entrance.

When N saw this, he knew that this building was a library . An idea came to him that he could have a book about cute animal puppies that N loved very much. Suddenly he heard a sound that interrupted his train of thought. It was the sound of a book falling on the ground. When N heard this, he knew that the target was close.

N went to the source of the sound and found a group of worker drones consisting of four individuals arguing among themselves. When he saw them, N did not waste a single second and took out his claws and prepared to attack them, but he heard one of the workers say, "Man, look what I found. It is a book about puppies. My daughter will love it."

After hearing that, N stopped and froze for a moment, thinking, "His son?" This worker has a son."

Suddenly he became confused and his claws began to tremble and the idea came to him that "maybe he can leave them this time and go look for other targets." But he remembered J and knew that she would not be happy about it if she knew what he had done, and even if she did not know about it, perhaps he would not be able to find other targets.

N closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened his eyes, a signal in the shape of the letter Looking at the remaining two, he saw that they had disappeared in front of him.

N turned on his night vision and started searching the place. He did not find anything in front of him, so he continued walking, and with every step he took, his feet made a sound that dominated the calm that prevailed in the building. Suddenly, N said, "Guys, you know that I have night vision, right."

He heard a voice saying with great fear that came from under one of the tables, "Oh my God, you can talk."

N turned one of his hands and fired a missile at the hiding drone, hitting it accurately.

When N went to check on his target to make sure he was dead, he saw that his upper part was separated from the lower part, but he was still alive, and his features showed pain, but he could not scream. It seemed that his voice was damaged by the explosion.

When N saw the scene, he remembered the punishment that J had given him last time, when he could not scream because it was a piece of his jaw. N knew how much pain this drone felt, so he turned his hand into a gun, and before shooting him, he said, "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to make you hurt. I was trying to kill you and end all of this quickly." When N finished speaking, he shot the worker in the head and a FATAL ERROR signal appeared on his screen.

N sighed and stared for a long time at the worker's corpse, with an unhappy and sad look on his face as he was immersed in his thoughts, when suddenly he heard a sound that interrupted his train of thought and it was coming from the entrance.

This was one of the workers who was able to leave the libary , but before he could feel comfortable, he heard the sound of N firing and felt two bullets hitting him, one on his shoulder and another in his stomach, and he fell to the ground.

The worker tried to stand up, but he couldn't because of the pain.

Suddenly, he felt his body rising from the ground. When he opened his eyes, he saw Dissample Drone, and there was an x sign on his screen, and one of his hands was in the shape of a sword. It was a very terrifying sight, as he felt every part of his body trembling with fear because of the sight.

The worker tried to gather his remaining energy and said, with tears on his screen, in a voice filled with oppression and fear, "Please... have mercy... I have a daughter and a wife... they are waiting for me to return home. Please have mercy on me."

The X sign disappeared from N's screen and he said in a soft voice filled with oppression before killing him, "I'm sorry."

When N finished his sentence, he inserted his sword into the worker's heart, and a FATAL ERROR signal appeared on his screen, and the oil began to drip from and pour on the ground.

When N tried to drink the oil, he saw a book thrown on the ground and it was stained with oil. It seemed that this worker was carrying it with him.

When N looked at the book, he saw that the title of the book was - "The 100 Best Dog Breeds" - then N realized that this worker was the same one who had a daughter who shared his love of puppies just like him.

N threw the worker's body to the ground and said in a voice filled with sorrow, "The same thing... the same thing happens every time I try to do my job." He sighed and looked at the shadowy figure standing behind him and continued, "What should I do?... Every time the same thing happens, I..." He stopped because N couldn't find the words to describe what he wanted to say.

He felt a tightness in his chest and his core felt like it was about to explode, but he felt like his head was going to explode from thinking so much. He was torn.

On one hand, he wanted to do his job, and on the other hand, he faced these feelings every time he caught a worker. Either one would scream in pain or another would say, "Have mercy on me, I have a daughter, a wife, or a lover." On the other hand, if he didn't do his job perfectly, J would punish him or he would die from overheating.

N sighed and put his hands to his face and said in a voice filled with sorrow to Sol, "Please tell me, do you have a solution for this?"

N knew that Sol wasn't real and that he was probably a figment of his imagination due to his loneliness and the way his colleagues ignored him. But despite all this, he never cared because Sol's presence at least gave him the comfort of knowing someone was listening to him and what he wanted to say.

If he tried to talk to J, she wouldn't listen to him and would say, "Don't waste my precious time," or she would punish him severely because she would think he was slacking off.

As for V, she would ignore him just like the time he tried to talk to her. She spread her wings and said, "Who are you again?" Before N could answer, she flew away, ignoring even his reply.

Sol remained standing in front of N and didn't say anything to him, but he moved from his place and pointed his hand eastward.

N was surprised because Sol had never done this before. During all the time he had been talking to Sol, he had didn't talke or do anything.

When he looked east, he saw nothing, but when he focused his gaze, he saw a group of five drones making their way through abandoned buildings.

Sol pointed again northwest and indicated an abandoned factory, and then pointed southwest, indicating another abandoned building.

When N looked closely at the places Sol had indicated and scanned them, he saw that the factory had 11 worker drones, and when he scanned the other building, he found that it also had 7 worker drones.

N was surprised that Sol knew this, but what puzzled him even more was the meaning behind it. Was Sol trying to say, "If you do your job, things will improve with your colleagues, and you won't be alone"?

N didn't like this solution much because, after everything he had said to Sol, he felt like Sol hadn't been listening. However, he couldn't find any other solution to his problem, so he decided to follow Sol's method this time.

N took a deep breath, spread his wings, and said in a worried voice, with a smile on his face, "Okay, my friend, I'll do it your way."

After long hours of hunting and searching, N, who killed each worker drone, took its body along with a group of other bodies to the spire. When he didn't find anything, he followed Sol's instructions.

Everything was going smoothly, or so N tried to convince himself. But with every worker drone he killed or whose body he tore apart, he was also torn apart inside by their screams and cries for help. He couldn't bear all of this. He was not used to eliminating so many before, but what drove him to continue was hope. The hope he convinced himself of was that if he did his job completely, perhaps his colleagues would acknowledge him and he would receive some appreciation. But everything has a limit, and N reached his limit.

After delivering the last group of worker drone bodies to the spire, he fell to his knees, trying to compose himself and gather his scattered thoughts. He felt a strange feeling, a feeling he had never felt before. He said to himself, "Is this what V and J feel when they do their job?" His hands were shaking, and all he could hear were the sounds of the drones and their screams.

After a few minutes, N barely stood up and said in a somewhat refreshed voice, looking at Sol, "Okay, let's check the count now."

When N checked the counter, he saw that he had killed about 49 worker drones.

When N saw the number, he felt happy, as he had never achieved such a feat before, and said to Sol, "49? Can you believe it? I've never achieved this result before. Who killed the worker drones?" Then the feeling of happiness disappeared and was replaced by a feeling similar to regret after he realized what he had said.

N shook his head and said, "There's no time for that. I'm close to the target. I only have one more drone to go and I'll finish my mission." He turned to Sol and continued, "One drone? How difficult is that?" Then a message came in saying that the system temperature had risen and it needed cooling oil. At that point, N remembered that he hadn't eaten anything that day. He had left in a hurry and hadn't even noticed the oil level dropping. If he had, he would have at least picked up one of the worker drones' bodies in the spire when he went there.

He said, "Okay, no problem. I'll find something to eat and finish the..." Before he could finish his sentence, another message came in saying that the sun should rise in 10 minutes and he needed to return to the spire immediately.

N froze in shock, unsure of what to do.

He hadn't finished his mission, the system's temperature was steadily rising, and on top of that, the sun would rise in 10 minutes.

Holding his head in nervous confusion, he saw Sol pointing north. When N looked more closely, he saw the worker drone. N breathed a sigh of relief, but when he checked the distance, he realized it was far, and 10 minutes wasn't enough time to go, capture it, and return to the spire.

"No," N said firmly. "There's no turning back now, not after everything I've done." For the first time, he was determined to achieve his goal, whatever the risks. He unfurled his wings and flew at full speed toward the worker drone, ignoring the warnings on his screen.
