"Mmm..." I murmur, rolling onto my side as the heavy fog of sleep slowly begins to lift.
Feeling a bit chilly, I blindly reach out, clutching at a thick piece of fabric and trying to yank it over myself like a blanket. But it's ridiculously heavy.
I tug harder, but the fabric barely moves an inch.
Frowning, I slowly blink my eyes open. The first thing I see is my own hand, tightly gripping the edge of Lucian's royal coat.
Oh, crap!
Panicking, I immediately plant both hands against his chest and give him a violent, desperate shove to create some distance.
But instead of moving him, the recoil sends me flying backward.
Lucian doesn't budge a single millimeter, and I gracefully roll right off the edge of the mattress, landing flat on my butt on the floor.
"Ow..." I wince.
Lucian smoothly gets out of bed, instantly standing before me with his usual flawless posture. He extends a hand down to me, his face a mask of absolute calm. "Are you hurt anywhere?"
