Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Tan 'y'ju wrapped his tail around Delvin and dragged him across the floor. He then yanked him up and threw him towards the balcony. Delvin's arm hit a chair mid flight and made him fall just in front of the door.

Tan'y'ju took human form and walked towards Delvin with a menacing stare.

"You dare to taste the food reserved for the gods. You will face the consequences" the dragon said as his wings appeared again. Delvin chuckled and wiped his bloodied mouth. "Is there anything I haven't suffered in your hands? The life I have is no longer worth living. Infact you should be happy, I found a reason to smile. " Delvin said and earned himself a stab on his right side. Tan'y'ju growled and grabbed Delvin's neck.

"This day, will be the last you see, for I am ....." He stopped when something hit his head. He turned and saw Sheila throwing hard objects at him. She grabbed a gold figurine from the shelf and threw it straight at his head. The dragon dropped Delvin with a heavy thud and walked over to Sheila. He jumped into the air and took his original form again.

"Bow to your king my queen" he said and his eyes began to shine with a bright golden light. The mark on Sheila's neck began to glow as well, but she remain ed rooted to the spot, staring at the beast before her. After a few seconds, she grabbed the helmet from a coat of armor that was beside her and slammed it on the dragon's snout. The dragon stepped back and rubbed its face.

"You have guts, and a great will. But tell me, What is your reason to fight me?" He asked. Sheila looked behind him and watched Delvin crawl towards his bed. The dragon growled again releasing a large amount of smoke. "Fine seems to me like I have to set some rules in motion" the dragon said and breath a circle of fire around Sheila. Then he turned to Delvin. "You are outside this circle. So do as you wish, but do not let it affect the woman, understood?" He said. Delvin laughed.

"I do as I wish. I am king after all, am I not?" He answered. The dragon growled fiercely, before vanishing in a dark cloud. The fire died out and Sheila rushed to Delvin. Before she could speak , Delvin held her.face and looked at her as if searching for something. "Safe" he said after a while, " the dragons flames doesn't harm the flesh, but consumes the soul" he added and sat down.

Dolores walked into her chambers. She saw Stel sitted by the mirror, combing her hair. Dolores walked up to her and placed a diamond pin in her hair. Stel admired herself in the mirror.

" Thank you my lady" she said and stood up.

She bowed slightly to Dolores, who gestures for her to sit upright. Dolores then sat down with her back to the mirror and made Stel sit beside her. "Is anything the matter?" She asked. Stel shook her head enthusiastically and smiled

"Why would I have any problems with you to take care of me?" She replied . Dolores held Stels face in her hands. "Do not lie to me, you know that you can't" she said and stàd intently at Stel. The young girl still held her smile and insisted she was fine.

"If you insist" Dolores said. Stel stood up, bowed again and left the room. Dolores watched her leave, but her eyes were more docuse on the eerie wind that followed her out of the room. As soon she heard the door slam shut, she walked to her window and pulled an orb out of the sunlight. She rolled it gently in her hands and whispers Stels name. An image of the young girl appeared in the orb. As she walked down the hall a dark, humanoid figure followed her , slowly, but close enough to make it seem that she was harboring dark energy.

Dolores blew on the orb and the figure pause for a while, not following Stel. Then it turned, and looked up as if it could see Dolores.

"Take me to your master" Dolores said. The figure began to walk towards the higher royal chambers, it walked past, her room and stopped in front of Belinda's room.

Belinda sat in front of her mirror admiring herself while thinking of a way to win her husband's heart. She was interrupted by a dark presence. She walked to the door could feel that her little messenger had failed his assignment. She cast a spell on the door and walked away.

Dolores watched as the figure reached for the door. As soon as it touched the handle, it dissipated to not thin air. Dolores quickly stood up and hurried to Belinda's chamber.

She barges in without knocking and saw her in front of the mirror. Belinda immediately stood up and bowed exaggeratedly.

"Sister, you didn't inform me that you were coming" she said holding the tip of the bat she was wearing. Dolores observed her outfit. A beautiful red ball gown, matching gloves and a hat adorned with roses.

"Do you plan on an outing?" Dolores asked . Belinda remained in her bowing posture.

"Well, yes. One of my acquaintances is visiting the village down south. I thought it good that I should go greet them" she said . Dolores gestured for her to stand.

"Alright, I will inform his majesty for you. You may leave at once" Dolores said. Belinda rose, bowed slightly again and began to walk away. As she got to Dolores' side, the kings sister held her arm in a way tht was both unexpected and menacing. "I would watch my actions around that girl if I were you" she said and released her arm. "Enjoy your day" she added and walked further into the room.

Delvin watched from his window as Belinda left the castle. He sneered as he saw the carriage roll away, down the path. A knock came on his door. Sheila stood up from the char where she was seated and hurried to check who it was. She saw that it was Dolores and Stel and quickly let them in. Delvin walked towards them and bowed before his sister.

"Get up Delvin I don't know why you still greet me like this" she said pulling him up by the hands. They stood like that for a while before Delvin offered her a seat by the table. They all sat down and Dolores cleared her throat. "I came to discuss a matter of our safety. I have discovered forces within this palace that are threatening our safety. " She said

"So what do you suggest we do?" Delvin asked.

"I suggest we visit Golsden. Your old friend might have a solution"

"We, no. Me! I will go alone." Delvin declared.

"Not happening, you have to take one person with you" Dolores said, she looked at the two other occupants of the room.

"Sheila, she can go with you" she said. Sheila looked up at her.

" Your highness?"

"Yes, you will accompany my brother to Golsden after my coronation"

"I, I.."

"My pleasure" Dolores said and stood up. She placed her hand on Delvin's shoulder then bowed slightly and left the room. Stel bowed as well and followed her out.
