By the time the three of them broke into the lord's residence—
They saw Caoshan drinking and feasting.
Caoshan was a broad-built middle-aged man.
He used to look sturdy—
But now he was simply fat.
He sat there, watching servant girls dance.
Back when Yahiko and the others had gathered people to form this settlement—
Caoshan had presented himself as friendly and trustworthy—
And was elected as leader.
But after the trio left—
He revealed his true nature.
While everyone else struggled to survive—
He lived in extreme luxury.
And continued to oppress the entire settlement.
BOOM!
The doors flew off—
Slamming into the wall behind him.
Caoshan immediately crouched down, clutching his head in fear.
He cautiously looked up.
"You dare rebel?!" he shouted angrily.
"Aren't you afraid my three ninja will kill you?!"
Those three ninja—
Were the foundation of his control.
There shouldn't have been anyone daring enough to oppose him.
Through the settling dust—
Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan walked forward.
Yahiko's face was filled with fury.
"Call them out."
"I don't care what kind of ninja they are—"
"I won't let them go."
Caoshan froze.
He hadn't expected—
The three who had already left—
To return.
But soon—
He composed himself.
Straightened his clothes—
And shouted angrily:
"Do you even know what you're doing?!"
"You're going to destroy this entire settlement!!"
Yahiko replied coldly:
"Aren't you the one destroying it?"
"What do you know?!" Caoshan snapped.
"You're my subordinates out there!"
"If you openly oppose me—"
"How will others see me?!"
"How will they obey me?!"
He saw nothing wrong with himself.
Instead—
He continued blaming them.
These kids liked saving people, right?
He had plenty of ways to control them.
Just as he was about to continue—
Whoosh!
A paper shuriken pierced straight through his forehead.
"…Why bother listening to his nonsense?"
Konan said coldly.
"Let him keep selling people?"
Caoshan staggered—
Then collapsed to the ground.
Yahiko sighed.
"…I didn't expect it to turn out like this."
He had thought—
Even if they weren't welcomed—
Things would gradually return to normal.
Instead—
They had created someone who wanted to rule as a tyrant.
"But where are those three ninja?" Nagato asked.
Yahiko and Konan looked around.
Everyone who could flee had already run.
But there was no sign of the three ninja.
…
At the same time—
Outside the newly established lord's residence—
Rain fell like a thin veil over the land.
The soldiers were still confused.
They all recognized Yahiko's group.
They had believed the three were Caoshan's subordinates.
So why—
Were they rebelling now?
"What is going on?!" someone shouted.
They had only followed Caoshan—
Because of those three.
"What have we done…?" someone else collapsed to their knees.
Only the leader who had stopped Yahiko earlier—
Quietly slipped away.
He was one of Caoshan's confidants.
That's why he handled such profitable work.
He took his cut from whatever they seized.
And thanks to Caoshan—
He had made many enemies.
Now—
It was all over.
As he hurried away—
He suddenly crashed into someone.
"Hey! Do you know who I am?!"
He tried to bluff—
One last time.
But when he looked up—
His face froze in terror.
In front of him stood a young man in a white bodysuit—
Wearing a respirator mask.
A typical Amegakure outfit.
But that wasn't what mattered.
Behind him—
Rows upon rows of ninja.
Silent.
Standing across the streets.
On rooftops.
In trees.
If you didn't look carefully—
You wouldn't even notice them.
Rain slid off their waterproof uniforms.
"Ni… ninja…!"
The soldiers finally realized.
They turned and ran.
Because everyone knew—
Ninja brought death.
And this many ninja—
Meant death itself had arrived.
At that moment—
Yahiko and the others stepped out.
They saw the massive force.
"…Why are there so many?!"
Yahiko's pupils shrank.
They had been looking for three ninja—
Not an entire army.
"Nagato. Konan."
Yahiko spoke quietly—
Then shouted:
"RUN!!!"
The three dashed off at full speed.
Rain poured.
Thunder roared.
But—
They were forced to stop.
Ahead—
More ninja blocked their path.
Behind them—
Another group closed in.
Yahiko stepped forward—
Shielding Konan and Nagato.
They backed against a newly built wall.
"…This time…"
"We're really done for."
Yahiko gave a bitter smile.
One ninja had already been difficult.
Now—
There were hundreds.
Escape—
Was impossible.
The crowd of ninja parted.
Hanzo stepped forward.
Looking down at the three—
He asked coldly:
"Where is Hyuga Arin?"
Yahiko twitched.
"…You're looking for our teacher?"
"I don't know where he is."
"We can tell him when we get back."
He turned to Nagato and Konan.
"Let's go. Nothing to do with us."
The three casually walked forward—
As if nothing had happened.
A sharp sickle suddenly blocked Yahiko's path.
Hanzo's voice was cold:
"Playing dumb won't help you."
"…No."
Yahiko suddenly threw a punch.
"My target—"
"Is you!"
The sickle flashed—
Slicing through Yahiko instantly.
His attack—
Was faster.
But—
Yahiko's body turned into a shadow—
And vanished.
Hanzo looked up.
On top of a building—
Hyuga Arin stood there.
In his left hand—
He held Yahiko and Nagato by their collars.
In his right—
Konan.
He looked down at Hanzo coldly.
"Long time no see, Lord Hanzo."
