The chairman frowned. Eleanor knew better than to interrupt him during a high-stakes meeting, let alone call him twenty times in a row.
A cold knot formed in his stomach.

He pressed the red icon to call her back. Eleanor picked up on the first ring.
"This better be..."
"You need to come home, right now. Zara just showed up at the house."
The Chairman felt the blood drain from his face.

Back at the hospital, Catalina waited in the hallway, her eyes fixed on Lyvana's door. She stayed hidden until she saw the family leave for the cafeteria. As soon as the hallway was clear, she moved toward the door.
Inside, Lyvana was sitting up, staring quietly out the window. She hated the fog in her mind, but her older memories, the ones from her past life, were still sharp. She knew she needed Emily to help her fill in the blanks of the last few months.
