They sat for a while. Then the young man said,
"Could you take me back to my room now?"
"Of course," the girl replied.
She wheeled him into his room.
"I need to help you lie down. I'll call the nurse," the girl said.
"No, there's no need for now. Just hold my hand for a bit," the young man said.
At that moment, the nurse entered.
"Could you help the patient inside?" she asked.
"Of course," the girl replied.
As the nurse was helping him, Nour stood by the door and said,
"All right, my friend. Until next time. May Allah protect you,"
she waved and left.
The young man had never met a girl like her in his life.
The nurse asked,
"Do you know that girl?"
"No," the young man replied.
"She hasn't been at this hospital for long, but with her beautiful character and kind words, she's already won everyone's heart. If I'm not mistaken, she'll be discharged tomorrow evening," the nurse said.
"Thank you," the young man replied and lay down.
The next day, the girl entered the room holding a packaged fruit juice and a bag of fruit.
"Assalamu alaykum," she said. "I'm being discharged today. These are for you."
"Don't rush," the girl added. "Maybe we'll become friends. Then I'll come to see you."
The young man nodded in agreement.
"But you're Muslim, and I don't believe in God," he said.
"That's fine. It won't stop me," the girl replied. "It won't prevent me from coming to see you."
"All right," the young man said.
The girl said goodbye and left.
From that day on, she began coming every day. She brought fruit, and sometimes flowers.
"Why do you bring flowers? I'm a man," the young man said.
"Flowers are beauty. Do you have to be a woman to look at beauty?" the girl replied.
"If you want, I can throw them away," she said.
"No, let them stay," the young man replied.
"How are your arm and leg? They've removed the cast. When will you be discharged?" the girl asked.
"They said tomorrow," the young man replied.
"Will we keep seeing each other after you leave?"
"Of course."
The real problem was that the young man had secretly fallen in love with the girl.
After leaving the hospital, they met often. One day the girl asked,
"Don't you work? You spend all your time with me. Who pays for your living?"
"I used to work. I sang and played music. But the only person who raised me — my grandmother — passed away. After that, I fell into depression. I took a break," the young man said.
Because he liked the girl, he was slowly coming out of depression. It felt as if happiness was returning to his life.
"Then play music and sing for me," the girl said. "But can you come to my place? You can't carry a piano everywhere."
The young man agreed. He played the piano and sang. The girl was amazed.
"If the whole world supports you, I am among them. If only one person supports you, that person is me. And if there is no one in the world who supports someone like you, know that I am dead," she said.
Those words pierced deep into the young man's heart. He fell even more in love with her.
"What do you do for work?" the young man asked.
"I'm a writer. I post my works on social media. I came to this country to develop my career," the girl said. "You look like an actor. You should try yourself in films or dramas as well."
The young man thought about it. She was right.
Little by little, he returned to art. He acted in movies and series. He continued music as well. The girl's career also took off: her works were sold to films and series, and she herself began participating in filming processes.
During that time, they drifted apart. Both had found their own paths. The young man regretted not confessing his love. The girl, loving him secretly, buried those feelings deep in her heart.
Time passed. One day, the young man received an offer for a drama written by an old acquaintance. During filming, he and the girl met again. Their eyes met.
"Are you seeing someone?" the young man asked.
"No," the girl said with a smile.
At that moment, the young man realized there was still a chance.
When he returned home, he first began learning about Islam. Then he studied halal food. He went to the store, bought only halal products, cooked meals himself, and brought them to the filming set.
When the girl said, "I only eat halal food,"
the young man replied, "This is all made from halal ingredients. I prepared it myself."
This made the girl's respect for him grow even stronger.
After the filming process ended, the young man took a leap of faith.
"I have the intention to build a family. I like you," he said and proposed.
The girl accepted.
Thus, Taehan accepted Islam, and they got married. Later, they became the parents of two sons and two daughters. They lived a happy life together.
