The moment Roxanne stepped out of the hall, Grandpa Ru climbed the podium earning applauds.
"Thank you all for joining me to celebrate my special day especially my heartless grandson"he said earning some laughs,"Enjoy,the foods and drinks are endless and soon a special announcement would be made concerning my grandson Riven Sy"he added then came down and sat down on a couch surrounded by the family members.
"Grandpa u said brother would bring my future sister in law with him but I don't see anyone"Belle said with a pout.
"Give him time"Grandpa Ru said directing his gaze towards Riven who stood talking to someone and Anastasia holding his arm.
*So this is the so called 'girlfriend'?,this is a slut in disguise*
He thought to himself as he stared with a frown.
Meanwhile, where Riven stood taking sips from his wine just rounded up his talk with an investor.
"I'll see you then"the man said and left.
Anastasia then turned to him and asked,"when are we going to meet your family?"
"We?"Riven asked with a raised brow and eyes narrowed at her.
"Yes, we'd make a perfect couple don't u think and we have things in common. I'm rich and successful and so are you"she replied and took a sip from her wine.
"There is no we Stasia, you should be lucky I haven't swatted u like a bug by now"he replied nonchalantly,his cold eyes searching amongst the crowd for someone.
"How could you say such?"she asked blinking her eyes.
"I don't have time for this"he muttered and headed towards his family members who were gathered around Grandpa Ru.
On the other hand, Roxanne arrived back in the hall,she had dried her clothes and they looked as good as new.
"Oh shoot, I missed the celebrant, will he even like me?"she muttered and then grew anxious at the thought,she fiddled with her fingers and bit her buttom lip and glanced around looking for Riven and she saw him, also looks like he saw her too.
Taking a deep breath she began making her way towards them.
Riven stared at Roxanne for a brief minute and focused his attention on his grandfather.
"U heartless grandson, I knew you were a liar,u didn't bring your girlfriend along with u today"he said and hit Riven's leg with his walking stick.
Riven hissed and moved back a bit.
"I didn't lie, I'm a man of my word"he replied.
"Hello Grandfather Sy, I'm Anastasia Davis"Anastasia said with a smile.
Grandfather Ruben stared at her and then looked at Riven,"Don't tell me you brought a slut as your girlfriend because u were desperate not to marry Molly"he said with narrowed eyes and Anastasia's smile faltered for a few seconds before regaining her composure.
"Apologies Grandfather Sy but I'm not a slut"she said trying to sound polite with her fists clenched against her gown.
"She's not my girlfriend Grandfather so don't get your pants in a twist-"
"Mr Ruben?"
A cheerful voice cut Riven short and they turned to see Roxanne holding a confused look on her face.
"Ah, Roxanne, where were you, I couldn't find u anywhere and I'm still interested in meeting this boyfriend of yours"Grandpa Ru said with a smile suprising everyone including Riven but he was good at masking his emotions.
"Do you two know each other?"Ann, Riven's mother asked.
"Yes, she's the young lady who saved me when I suddenly collapsed some months ago"Grandpa Ru replied
*Flash Back: Four Months Ago*
Roxanne was heading towards the hospital in a hurry after ending her shift at one of her part time jobs to visit her father when she noticed an old man, Grandpa Ru walking with a mask on his face and alone.
She continued staring wondering if he was a celebrity by chance not that she's friends with social media but all of a sudden he stopped walking and swayed till he dropped down passing out.
She grew worried on the spot and rushed towards him.
"Sir,sir are you ok?"she asked gently tapping his face but no response.
"Someone help!,get an ambulance!,sir,sir!, can you hear me!?,sir!"she yelled and a crowd gathered and soon he was rushed to the same hospital as her dad.
Roxanne stayed by his side after checking on her father till he woke up.
"Where am I?"he muttered and looked around to see that he was in the hospital and also noticed Roxanne fast asleep on the stool,her head resting at the end of the bed.
"Such a caring young lady"he muttered and as soon as he moved his leg,she woke up.
"Oh you're up"he said,his mask was already off.
"Yes,how are you,you suddenly passed out on the street and I brought u here,u shouldn't get up,the doctor just gave you some medicine"she said worriedly.
"I'm fine,no need to worry"
"No way, you're gonna stay here until you're better"she said stubbornly.
"Is that an order?"he asked with a raised brow.
"It's a request"she replied with folded arms
"Alright,u win, I'll stay"he said raising his hands in surrender and she giggled.
"I'm Roxanne by the way"she said.
"Lovely name, I'm Mr Ruben"Grandpa Ru said.
"I'll call you Grandfather Ruben because I don't have a grandpa"she said with a smile and he smiled as well and from there onwards she would bring him food and take care of him till he was discharged.

"So you're the girl who helped my dad?"Dave, Riven's father asked.
"Yes sir"Roxanne replied.
"Any way, back to what I was saying. U lieing grandson, where's your girlfriend?"Grandfather Ruben asked directing his gaze to Riven.
Riven sighed and looked at Roxanne then took her hand.
"I kept my promise,this is Roxanne,my wife"he said dropping the bomb.
