After a long day, Gideon was finally able to rest his body as he lay on the soft bed. He was not truly tired, more excited than anything else, his mind already racing toward what would come next.
Delilah seemed a little more accepting of him now, though he was not confident that would remain the case if she ever learned the truth of the previous night.
Today, Gideon was technically supposed to patrol the area, but he had another plan. He would head out briefly in the middle of the night, then return before morning and make it look as if the field of corpses had been the result of a long, exhausting battle.
"Now, let's check the cores I got this morning," he muttered, excitement creeping into his voice as he opened the system.
Kilian had asked for five cores as payment for helping earlier, while Gideon had stored the rest inside the system storage.
[Do you want to sell 20 D-rank cores?]
"Yes. Let's see how much I get."
[You will receive 5,000 Love Coins. Do you still want to sell them?]
Gideon's eyes widened. "Not bad. Sell everything."
[5,000 Love Coins received.]
"So the Infinite Shop items are actually pretty cheap," he murmured to himself.
With that amount, he finally had enough Love Coins to clear his debt.
Unfortunately, greed was one of Gideon's weaknesses. Instead of stopping there, he continued scrolling through the shop, his attention quickly locking onto modern weapons.
For now, large-scale military equipment like tanks or jets were not available yet as the items were available but he couldn't buy it.
The system only sold weapons that could be operated by a single person. Firearms, grenades, rocket launchers, and other weapons with limited destructive range filled the list.
Gideon chuckled. "Man, for a second I thought it would sell nuclear weapons to me."
Still, the system had already been generous enough. The house came fully equipped with a water system, drainage, gas, and electricity, all installed automatically. And all the houses built in the residential area would have the same feature.
According to the system, maintenance could be paid monthly using Love Coins or offset by resident satisfaction once people began living in the area.
Earlier, Freya had told him about the existence of traveling groups that passed through the Deliric Desert roughly every six months.
These groups were nomads who believed that staying in one place for too long only invited disaster.
They lacked the resources and manpower of major factions like Freebound, so they survived by constantly moving.
Most of their population consisted of older individuals who were still capable of working, but no longer young enough to be easily accepted into larger factions.
Gideon did not dwell on it too much. Compared to most places in the world, this land was already far safer. What mattered more was unlocking the specific section of the Infinity Shop that was still unavailable to him.
"Hm, let's wrap this up first."
[Common Martial Arts Skill]
Allows the host to master common martial arts, sharpening senses and battle instincts related to close combat.
[Unlimited Bullet (one-time purchase only)]
Insert this magazine into any firearm, excluding heavy weapons and destructive devices. Bullets become unlimited but consume 10 Love Coins per shot.
[Teleportation Scroll x2]
Allows teleportation to a previously visited location within a 20 km range. Maximum of 10 people per use.
[Do you want to pay 25,000 Love Coins using PayLater?]
Yesterday, the number alone would have given Gideon a heart attack. Now, it barely fazed him. With passive income from sex, the barrier's kills, and his deal with Freebound, he could afford to be bold.
"Yes."
[Transaction successful.]
[Purchased items have been transferred to system storage.]
Gideon leaned back against the bed, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. Things were finally moving in his favor.
He used the [Common Martial Arts Skill], letting the sensation settle into his body, then decided it was finally time to sleep.
However, before he could close his eyes, a soft knock echoed from his door, followed by a quiet whisper.
"Gideon, I know you're there. Can I come in, please?"
"Freya?"
He raised a brow, stood up, and walked toward the door before opening it.
Outside stood Freya, her hair still damp, her skin carrying a soft scent of roses. She wore a short white pajama dress provided by the house, the fabric clinging gently to her curves and somehow making her look even more delicate in the dim light.
"What's wrong? Don't tell me you can't sleep," he asked, his tone casual, though he already had a good idea of why she was here.
Her blush spread all the way to her ears. She hesitated, fingers twisting together as curiosity and nervousness fought across her face.
Coming into a man's room in the middle of the night was not something she could play off easily.
"It's not like that," she said quickly, biting her pink lips before continuing in a quieter voice.
"Y-you said you'd give us one thing we want every day. You didn't give me mine today, so…"
"You came into a man's room in the middle of the night just to demand that?" he smirked, leaning casually against the doorframe.
Freya looked even more flustered, nodding while avoiding his gaze. "C-can I come in, then?"
She finally looked up at him, her big doe eyes shining with expectation, the kind no man could easily resist.
Gideon sighed softly and stepped aside, letting her in.
"But you have to leave once your request is fulfilled," he said teasingly, wanting her to actually reveal what she desires.
"Only one item, okay?"
She nodded again. He sat on the edge of the bed while she stood in front of him, awkwardly shifting her weight, her eyes glued to the floor.
"I want strawberries," she whispered.
"Alright. You wanted that yesterday too. You really love strawberries, huh?"
Gideon opened the system and began scrolling through the shop, glancing at her between menus.
She hesitated, then spoke again, her voice barely audible.
"Condom… I want a strawberry condom."
Their eyes finally met. Her face was as red as the fruit she had just mentioned.
