Gideon sat on the shallow steps at the edge of the pool, where the water barely reached his waist. He was still wearing his black robe, while the two sisters clung to his sides, one on the left and the other on the right, leaning back against the wall.
His arms rested open along the edge as both of them naturally placed their heads against him.

Gideon laughed softly. "Don't worry. I won't be. I'm patient and I understand both of your situations."
He leaned back slightly, eyes half-lidded.
