Chapter 135 - Chapter 132

Truth Buried in Azkaban

The Black family portraits were quieter now.

Not silent—but attentive.

Lucien stood with his hands behind his back and asked calmly,

"So," he said, "what truly happened to Bellatrix Lestrange?"

Phineas Nigellus Black sighed.

"This," he said, "is where everything went wrong."

Lucius's Drunken Pride

"Before Narcissa divorced Lucius," Phineas continued,

"your dear former brother-in-law became careless."

Lucien's eyes narrowed slightly.

"In a drunken state," Phineas said, "Lucius bragged. About Azkaban. About how Bellatrix was handled."

Several portraits darkened.

"He spoke of Malfoy, Nott, Carrow, Flint, and even Voldemort himself," Phineas said coldly.

"How they abused her. Broke her. Brainwashed her. Experimented on her mind."

Narcissa clenched her fists.

"I told the family," she said quietly.

Arcturus Black's Rage

"At the time," Phineas went on,

"the Lord of the Black family was Arcturus Black."

Cygnus's portrait nodded grimly.

"He used his connections," Cygnus said,

"and entered Azkaban."

A ripple went through the hall.

"He used ancient Black family magic," Phineas said,

"and saw Bellatrix's memories directly."

The portraits fell silent.

"She was broken," Phineas continued.

"Not mad. Not evil. Broken."

Lucien closed his eyes briefly.

Dumbledore at the Edge of War

"Dumbledore arrived," Phineas said.

"He saw Arcturus standing before Bellatrix's cell."

Arcturus's voice echoed from his portrait:

'Do you wish to break Azkaban, Albus?'

Phineas smirked faintly.

"Dumbledore did not answer."

Arcturus had continued:

'If it were your brother or sister in her place—what would you do?'

Again—

Silence.

Lucien opened his eyes.

"And then?" he asked.

The Choice

"Arcturus stopped," Phineas said quietly.

"He knew that rescuing her then would start a war."

So instead—

"He took a memory," Phineas said.

"Every abuse. Every spell. Every violation."

The portraits murmured darkly.

"He placed it in a vial," Phineas continued,

"and gave it to Dumbledore."

Justice, Not Mercy

"Dumbledore summoned Arthur Weasley, Molly Weasley, Edgar Bones, and Amelia Bones," Phineas said.

Lucien nodded. He knew the names.

"He showed them the memory."

Shock.

Horror.

Silence.

"Dumbledore told them the truth," Phineas said.

"That Bellatrix Black had killed their loved ones—but not by her own will."

Narcissa's voice shook.

"And yet… she stayed in Azkaban."

"Yes," Phineas replied.

Arcturus had decided:

'She will remain for some years. Let her suffering be an offering to those she wronged.'

The Weasley and Bones families—

Accepted.

Not forgiveness.

But balance.

The Question That Matters

Phineas looked at Lucien.

"That is the truth," he said.

"The world knows only the lie."

Lucien absorbed it quietly.

Then he asked,

"And now?"

He turned to the portraits.

"To you," Lucien said evenly,

"what is the solution?"

Every portrait stilled.

Cygnus nodded first.

Then Walburga.

Then Phineas.

Narcissa nodded through tears.

Evelyn nodded, jaw set.

One by one—

Every Black agreed.

Bellatrix Lestrange was not innocent of consequence.

But she was innocent of choice.

Lucien exhaled slowly.

"…Very well," he said.

The Black family magic stirred again.

And somewhere far away—

A prison built on despair felt, for the first time, watched.

A Plan That No One Else Would Dare Think Of

Lucien exhaled softly.

"May I have an iced tea?" he asked calmly.

Narcissa blinked, then nodded quickly.

"Kreacher."

The elf appeared with a crack.

"Bring Lord Lionhardt an iced tea," Narcissa ordered.

"Yes, Mistress," Kreacher said and vanished.

Lucien leaned back slightly, fingers steepled, eyes unfocused.

He was thinking.

That was never a good sign for anyone else.

The Impossible Truth

Kreacher returned and carefully placed the glass in front of Lucien.

Lucien took a sip.

Then he spoke.

"Making Bellatrix Lestrange legally innocent," he said evenly,

"is close to impossible."

The room froze.

The portraits murmured in confusion.

Narcissa stiffened.

Evelyn frowned.

"Why?" Narcissa asked.

Lucien set the glass down.

"Because evidence does not matter," he said calmly.

"Not to the public. Not to other families."

Phineas narrowed his eyes.

"Explain."

Lucien did.

"Even if we reveal the memories," he said,

"the common people will refuse to believe it."

"And the former Death Eater families," he continued,

"will brand the Black family as traitors."

Silence.

"They will isolate you," Lucien said.

"Strip influence. Engineer accidents. Push for quiet removals."

A chill ran through the corridor.

"Not war," Lucien finished.

"Erasure."

Narcissa felt cold.

Evelyn clenched her fists.

The portraits were very still.

The Question That Changed Everything

Lucien looked at Phineas.

"Is Arcturus Black alive?"

Phineas nodded slowly.

"Yes. Barely."

Lucien stood.

"Bring him here."

Narcissa inhaled sharply—then nodded and left at once.

Lucien turned slightly.

"I will need an empty room," he said.

"And a hair, blood sample, or anything belonging to Bellatrix."

Kreacher bowed deeply.

"Kreacher knows," he said, and gestured. "This way, Lord Lionhardt."

Something That Should Not Exist

The room was quiet.

Kreacher handed Lucien a small vial.

"A hair," the elf said. "Saved by the House."

Lucien nodded.

He closed his eyes.

System Interface.

[Store → Restricted → Biological Constructs]

Lucien's expression did not change.

He selected carefully.

A temporary vessel.

Requires DNA Fully identical Autonomous Lifespan: 1 week Dissolution: 3 months

Lucien double-checked everything.

No errors.

No bleed-over.

No soul imprint.

He applied the DNA.

The system confirmed.

Lucien stored it safely.

Invisible.

Perfect.

Dangerous.

He opened his eyes.

"…Good."

Waiting

Lucien returned to the portrait corridor and stood calmly.

The Blacks watched him differently now.

Not like a child.

Not like a negotiator.

Like something deliberate.

Like a plan already in motion.

They waited.

And somewhere—

An old man named Arcturus Black was being brought home.
