Cassell College, Bell Tower.
Inside the Night Watchman's attic.
The slightly old television was playing the classic 1952 Western film 'High Noon,' with Marshal Gary Cooper walking through the dusty streets of a Western town, gun strapped to his hip.
The person watching the movie was much like the marshal, wearing a somewhat worn, rolled-brim cowboy hat, with gleaming spurs on the boots propped on the table, and a beer belly almost bursting through his old Hawaiian shirt.
The old cowboy was curled up in a recliner, occasionally grabbing the whiskey bottle from the table for a drink.
"Every time I come looking for you, you're watching 'High Noon,' like an outdated old man who doesn't know how to try new things. There's a movie called '10,000 BC' recently that I think is quite good, I recommend it to you."
Angers pushed the door open, a smile on his face.
"Hoo hoo, that's quite funny coming from a hundred-and-thirty-year-old man," the old cowboy chuckled, turning his attention back to the movie. "New movies lack sincerity, like burgers from a fast-food restaurant; you get tired of them after too many. Old movies are like aged wine, the more you taste, the more flavorful they become."
Saying this, the old cowboy grabbed his glass and took another sip, his expression intoxicated: "Tell me, what brings you here?"
"Do I only come to see you when there's something wrong? Let's just consider it old friends chatting."
"If there was nothing wrong, you'd definitely want to be with young girls," the old cowboy pouted, "You old lecher."
Angers chuckled and pulled a bottle of wine from his trench coat.
The old cowboy's eyes instantly lit up, like a miser seeing a room full of gold, filled with greed.
Angers held the bottle of wine, constantly tossing it up and catching it, making the old cowboy nervous.
"Romanée-Conti Grand Cru Dry Red Wine, with an annual production of less than four thousand bottles. Even the British Royal Family has to pre-order it. Where did you get it?"
"Elizabeth gave it to me. You know, she's always admired me."
"Damn it, why doesn't anyone give me one?"
The Night Watchman said, intending to take the bottle of wine from Angers.
Angers subtly shifted, easily dodging the Night Watchman.
"What do you want? Just tell me what's wrong."
Seeing the Night Watchman a bit exasperated, Angers smiled contentedly and said,
"Do you know about Cheng Sui, who's recently become famous in the academy?"
"As a people-friendly Vice Principal, I check the Night Watchman Forum every day, so of course I know him."
"I think you just want to look at my dear students' beautiful photos."
"Angers! What exactly do you want to ask?" The exposed Night Watchman was a bit flustered.
"You've seen his recent performance, but his bloodline rating in the 3E Exam was C-grade, and he was unknown for three years before that. How can a C-grade Hybrid defeat Caesar Gattruso and Chu Zihang twice in a row?"
"Are you saying, Black Blood?"
Angers shook his head: "I also suspected he used Black Blood before, but first, let's not even talk about the difficulty of replicating Black Blood data after I destroyed it. I was right next to him during his fight with Caesar today, and his strength wasn't an explosive growth like Black Blood, but constant."
The old cowboy also became interested and sat up straight.
"Could he be a descendant of the White King? After all, he's Chinese, so it's normal for him to have the bloodline of those White King descendants in Japan. Perhaps the White King's bloodline in him suppressed his resonance with the Dragon King during the 3E Exam, which led to his bloodline rating being lower than his actual strength."
Angers nodded, thinking the Night Watchman made sense. After all, he was the last Flamel, and no one could surpass this seemingly unreliable old cowboy in academics.
"Of course, there's another possibility," the old cowboy sat up straight, staring into Angers' eyes, and said word by word, "He is a Dragon King. The reason his bloodline rating was so low is that he hadn't awakened his dragon memories yet, and the reason he's getting stronger now is that his dragon bloodline is beginning to awaken."
Angers narrowed his eyes, placed the wine on the Night Watchman's table, and stood up to leave.
"Angers! If he really is a Dragon King, you know what to do." The Night Watchman stared at Angers.
"Of course, if he truly is a Dragon King, I will personally execute him. But until his memories awaken, isn't he still a useful sword?"
The Night Watchman stared intently into Angers' eyes, finally sighed, pulled his hat brim low, and curled up in the recliner, like a dejected little potato.
"You're a madman, Angers. All you want is destruction; you care about nothing else."
Angers stood at the doorway, the moonlight outlining him with a silver frame, making his figure even more indistinct.
"You're wrong," Angers said seriously, "I still care about young ladies."
...And at this moment, Cheng Sui, suspected by the Night Watchman of being a Dragon King, was fully focused on the screen, his palms slightly sweating as he gripped the controller.
The opponent's ID was "Eriyis Duck," which sounded like a cute, soft girl.
But the opponent's Sakura was played very skillfully, as smooth as an old player who had been immersed for several years.
Cheng Sui could already imagine a middle-aged uncle, returning from work, sitting in front of the game console with a smile, slowly tormenting Cheng Sui.
Cheng Sui was playing as Ryu, whose moves were simple and easy to learn. Cheng Sui liked to stand at the edge of the screen, throwing Hadoukens to zone, then looking for opportunities to catch the opponent's openings and unleash a combo.
However, "Eriyis Duck"'s character, Sakura, had a completely different style from Cheng Sui. Sakura excelled in speed and continuous pressure, with strong combo pressure, and Duck was especially good at starting with light attacks, which made Cheng Sui very uncomfortable.
Both sides now had very low health, enough to be taken out by a single combo.
Cheng Sui was currently probing the opponent, waiting for them to reveal a weakness, then taking them out with a combo.
[Third Hokage recently noticed your outstanding performance and discussed you with Danzo Shimura, but Danzo Shimura found your sudden increase in strength strange and suspected you were a spy from another village.]
[Mission: Dispel Danzo Shimura's suspicions and gain Danzo's trust.]
[Mission Reward: Hashirama cells transplant (no rejection effect), Wind Release: Vacuum Great Ball]
The sudden system prompt caught Cheng Sui's attention.
The opponent also caught Cheng Sui's momentary lapse, first using a light kick to catch Cheng Sui in a stun, then forcibly activating Sakura Punch to launch Cheng Sui's character into the air, directly chaining into a Super Art: Haru Ichiban to defeat Cheng Sui.
Cheng Sui looked at the large K.O. on the screen, his face slightly flushed.
The opponent sent a friend request, which Cheng Sui accepted.
"まだContinuedけるの?"
Cheng Sui didn't understand Japanese and didn't know what the opponent meant, so he replied "GG."
Meaning 'good game,' it was a compliment to the opponent's skill and also an admission of defeat.
In a secluded room somewhere in Japan, Eriyi sat on the floor, staring unblinkingly at the display screen.
Seeing Cheng Sui's disconnected notification, Eriyi hugged her knees, a hint of loneliness flashing in her eyes.
Minamoto no Chisei stood behind Eriyi, silently watching her play.
Her father didn't dare let Eriyi have too much contact with the outside world, fearing she might develop thoughts of running away from home, although Eriyi had already tried to run away more than once.
But Minamoto no Chisei still couldn't bear to see his sister, in the prime of her youth, confined to her room like this. So, behind Tachibana Masamune's back, he connected Eriyi's game console to the internet, allowing her to play on servers.
But only when he was present, otherwise he worried that someone might take the opportunity to contact Eriyi.
Minamoto no Chisei looked at Eriyi; the girl's back was slender, her long red hair cascaded down her back, as lonely as a forgotten cherry blossom tree.
Minamoto no Chisei sat beside Eriyi and picked up a controller.
"Come on, big brother will play with you."
