"Is that the beginner level spell, ice spike?, why does it look way more deadly" some one asked from the crowd.
"You fool, why do you think Zhi hao is called the ice king of our school, his ice spells are way cooler" another voice answered from the crowd.
All the while, Rai jin was looking intently at the scene, he found the scene very exciting, but he knew, that different processes had to be observed to successfully cast a spell. The ice spell looked very powerful, the tip of the ice spike was very sharp, it looked like it was cutting through air itself.
He looked at Lin Wei, he never liked Lin wei from the start, he was doted upon too much, and ended top being spoilt and arrogant, just like his brother Lin kai.
Though they had never had any personal encounter together, Rai jin had heard stories about how he had bullied some other students, Even the school could not enforce full control over him due to the influence of his family.
"I hope the spell pierces him in the heart" Rai jin muttered under his breath, only enough for Da lu and Mu lan to hear him.
"It looks very sharp, I bet it would slice through his balls like butter" Mu lan commented.
"The two you should keep your voices down and not land us in trouble with the Lin family, and If only it was that easy to defeat him, he would not be known as a child prodigy, he is the only second year to have won every single duel he has ever fought in" Da lu replied.
"Really, he is that strong? Makes me wonder where Lin kai got his weak balls from" Mu lan said.
"Are you even sure he is got any?" , Rai jin replied Laughing.
Mu lan joining in, while Da lu just shakes his head in surrender, wondering why he ever decided to be friends with these two idiots.
Lin Wei remained unconcerned while the Ice spike broke the ground apart under his feet, just as it was about to touch him, he leaped backwards, jumping more than three metres backwards, an amazing leap for someone who was just a beginner mage, avoiding the Ice spike completely.
The spike twirled and aimed for Lin Wei's legs, trying to pin him in place.
Lin wei summoned his magic array, and suddenly a blazing heat started to rock the atmosphere, a glowing red spiral appeared on the ground around his feet.
Flames danced around his feet, and quickly appeared around his fists.
"Blazing Fists!"
He dashed forward, sending his fist forward in a punch like manner, a huge fireball exploded forth and flew forward at a high speed, it broke through the ice spike and continued towards Zhi hao.
He quickly casted an ice wall spell to block the incoming fireball.
"BOOM! The fire ball exploded on impact.
He slid back across the ground, frost flying everywhere.
By now, the whole field was silent, everyone was intently gazing at the scene in front of them, even Rai jin was fully focused on the fight before him, he could agree that Lin Wei was a scum, but he was very powerful as a mage.
"I wonder when I will be able to cast powerful spells like this too, I can't wait to be able to send people flying with just one spell, I know that my magic will be more awesome, it has to be" Rai jin thought rubbing the crystal in his chest.
The duel was over by now, Zhi hao had sustained slight burns from the fireball, and was now getting up on his feet.
"Did you see that? That was amazing, Zhi hao's ice didn't stand a chance, compared to Lin Wei's Fire at all" a boy shouted pulling his neighbour.
"I know that, I don't think my hands stand a chance against your pulls either" his neighbour replied.
Conversations had started, happening all around the crowd of people' as they praised Lin Wei's amazing power.
Lin Wei, the centre of attraction, didn't utter a word, but held a gaunty look on his face, as he looked away from Zhi hao, he wasn't worth his time anymore, since he had defeated him.
"Brother Lin Wei, you are as amazing as ever, even the ice king Zhi hao couldnt compare to you" Lin kai said as he and his lackey Bai ji approached his brother Lin Wei.
"It's nothing, he was just weak" Lin Wei replied goofily.
"Of course, brother Lin Wei, no-one could compare to you, I am sure you have great accomplishments ahead of you, I also want to become like you" Bai ji said.
"You would have to awaken a powerful element, first of all, I hear the Magic awakening happens in a few weeks, is that right?" Lin Wei asked.
"Yes brother Lin Wei, I see myself unlocking a powerful fire element, just like you", there is a wretched fellow I have to destroy" Lin kai said.
"Is there someone disturbing you brother, who dares? Do they not know the power of the Lin family?" Lin Wei asked gruffly obviously annoyed.
If he allowed someone to bully his own brother, what would that say about him, more than that, he just wanted to garner more attention from the crowd, and display his power further.
" Go bring me this barbarian we are speaking of, tell him the prodigy of Donghai city, wants to see his lowly self, I am giving him just three minutes, I won't leave this spot until I see him here" Lin Wei said arrogantly.
"Rai jin has finally bit more than he can chew, now brother Lin wei will teach him some manners, let's see how he fares against someone who can fry cook him with a single spell" Bai ji commented whispering to Lin kai.
They quickly began looking for Rai jin, they didn't have to search too long as they soon saw him among the dispersing crowd, laughing with Mu lan , while the sore faced Da lu kept shaking his head in regret.
"Rai jin, your actions have finally caught up with you, you would soon become a fried burnt human meat" Bai ji said confidently approaching them, with a crooked smile on his face.
Rai jin pretended not to have heard as he continued laughing and conversing with Mu lan.
"Rai jin, didn't you hear me speaking to you" Bai ji quickly asked feeling embarrassed.
"Hey I couldn't hear you since you are so short, you are not in my line of sight" Rai jin replied.
"Ouch sorry dog, I didn't hear that, you better let your master do the talking instead" Mu lan said laughing, as the Red faced Bai ji eyed him with a death glare.
"Rai jin, I am sure you know my brother Lin wei's awesome power, and the fact that he is a child prodigy of the Donghai city, you probably just witnessed him in action seeing as you are present here, he has called to see you" Lin kai said stepping in as he pats Bai ji on the arm.
"He gave you just three minutes, of which you have used two minutes, laughing like a clown, you had better start running now, unless he becomes annoyed" Bai ji commented from the side., hoping to see the look of panic that will appear on Rai jin's face.
Instead, what met him was a look of indifference and a bit of confusion.
"Rai jin didn't you hear? What are you looking around like a stolen rabbit for, you should be running to him right now." Bai ji said.
They had started to draw the attention of the nearest crowd of people. Those who'd heard what Lin kai said were wondering what it was all about.
"Senior Lin wei wants to see him, what for?"
"Isn't he just a terrible student i heard he came second to last in the previous magic theory exam"
'He is quite handsome though, but he is without brains".
"Rai jin hearing the comments of people quickly snapped out of his thoughts and after a while, he asked,
"Sorry, who is Lin wei?" He asked scratching his head.
Mu lan couldn't hold himself back as he burst into a fit of laughter, Da lu could do-nothing than to cover his face with his palms.
He had expected Rai jin to do or say something stupid, not just as stupid as to pretend not knowing Lin wei.
Every other person was just too stunned to say anything, they only stared with mouths agape, as they looked at Rai jin as if he was an alien, how could he not know who Lin wei was.
and just at that moment,
"And why is it taking so long to find one person, Lin kai?" a voice sounded nearby, causing all heads to turn.
