ARTHUR LIONHEART
Ours it the tundra those are the words of the silver lion of Lionheart said by Hamel the first during the age of kings.
But today I Arthur of house Lionheart cannot but say different words.
"By the mothers giant tits!!" I exclaimed shocked at Robin's defeat.
What in the bloody hell is Luke Kuhn on? How could he move that fast and that state which combines lightning and wind.
'His enhancing his very Neurons with lightning magic!' I thought shocked. 'But that's bloody mad he could fry his brain if he were to make a simple misstep.'
I myself have never thought of trying such a mad thing the risks are far to great and I am not as precise as Sir Luke when it comes to both the sword and lightning magic.
"Mad Skylander." Sir Ragnar said from beside me with his heavily Midgardian accented voice.
I stand whilst watching the duels from a display artifact nailed to the wall in a round, specious and well furnished room field with young nobles from all of Pangea.
Well the bloody thing cannot be truly called a room when its almost large as the Lionheart army's training ground.
Well only the back of the room full of young man and woman playing darts, cards and betting on the matches is the largest portion of this place.
I shift my gaze to those around me young knights and squires who want to make a name for themselves or who today have made a name for themselves. My fellows include Sir Ragnar Morgen, my cousin Davon Redwood, Theon Jaeger, Sir Jon Frost, Dame Rosa Valeheart and other notable young man and woman Northerners all.
'My plan is going quite well.' I though with great excitement.
"Not mad genius!" Said Jaeger. The young man was stocky with short silky chest nut hair and like all the knights and squires around me he is dressed in a surcoat his is green with silver trimmings.
"Theo is right." I say pointing at the current duel which was between my cousin Cyrus and my other cousin Damon.
A lot of people think the two are fighting for Dame Carmin Dragonheart's hand.
'But none of the two fools know that I've stolen her from beneath their noses hehe. The engagement was signed yesterday the lovely Dame also gave me a ring made of Rune steel as a gift.'
Oh how funny it was seeing Cyrus' face when he asked 'Hey cuss were did you get that fine ring you're waring?' I had smiled at him and said simply 'its a gift'
And he simply shrugged and went on with his business.
'Oh my dear cousins.....finest members of Prince Darrow's honor guard I am not sorry.'
"You see my cousin Cyrus he is an expert in lightning as you all know." They all nodded. "However not even he can do what Kuhn did despite him being an eight star mage. Today my lords and ladies we just saw the rise of a future terror in the dueling ring."
They all look excited or worried at the prospect of dueling Luke.
'To think while I and my friends were stuck in literal hell some of these young lords and ladies were throwing temper fits about not having chocolate cake for their breakfast.' I though with dark amusement.
Me and mine were sharpened by the vile wet stone that was that red world it makes no matter now however all of that is behind after it has been eight years and I have better thing to brood about.
"Sir Arthur." A deep but youthful voice called from behind me. I turned to see Alpha making his way toward me my Northman made way for him as I smiled at my stony faced childhood friend.
He has changed since our childhood for starters he has the blessing that we all received from the old wizard that being skin Alpha's skin is deeper tan than the people of the Tristan province who are tanned unlike most Britannians his skin is darker still than his fellow olive-skinned country man. which makes me think that his skin is brown but most people describe it as a daker shade than olive but it makes no matter however what is striking about Atreus's appearance is not his skin, hair color or his build and height which are both similar to mine but his brilliant red eyes like the insides of the very sun itself.
"What do you think of our friends victory?" I asked.
'By that I mean can you believe reckless Robin lost?'
"I am quite surprised I thought the battle was going to be in the Southern girls favor." Atreus said.
By that you mean.
'I know right I was also taken aback but Luke is quite skilled.'
I smirked proud that I still knew my old friend so well even after all these years.
After that the powerful almighty Kings, Emperors and Lords of Pangea each gave one boring speech after another which some of my friends surprisingly found insightful.
Lord Musashi Okumura is the last to speak. He speaks of how a warrior must never lose their way no matter what happens strangely I found myself listening.
"Like a blade we all must continue to sharpen our faculties. Such as our wit, writing and our ability to think rationally that is not afforded to other creatures that can use mana. We, all must study this well."
As the Southern Lord conclude his wise words with no flaw I might add. I looked around at my companions who were furiously writing every single word that had come out of the man's mouth.
"You two lord Atreus?" I asked with raised brows.
He nodded while writing on his note book.
"Lord Musashi is quite insightful I would be mad not to record some of his wise word with mine own hands." He says.
"Beh, you Easterners with your damned musings. I'm man of action not words." I say crossing my arms over my chest.
"So, I've noticed good Sir. However consider that honing one's martial prowess along with one's insight can make a man far deadlier than a fellow who simply hones one of the two previously mentioned things." Atreus says to me while still writing.
I sighed knowing it wasn't in my nature to be philosifical. I am not dull of course goddess know my father made sure of that when he noticed that I preferred sword and rather than a quill and book however I am man who enjoys tourneys, hunting, riding and dueling.
"You think I'm terrible when it comes to the art of reasoning my lord?" I asked grinning. Atreus frowned not understanding. I pointed at my sister who was talking to Lord Philip's bastard daughter.
"My sister is far worse than I. She can read aye but if you asked her to write a letter you'd be absolutely shocked."
"But..." Atreus said glancing at Caera. She glanced back at him and blew him a kiss?
'Here we go again....impulsiveness strikes again.' I though sighing inwardly.
"A girl of such high birth not to mention the fact she's a knight....yet she cannot act as scribe if it were required of her?" My old friend genuinely sounded shocked.
'He should meet my cousin Audrey if his shocked about Caera's behavior. She's four years older than me and yet she cannot read or write.' I though with mild amusement.
My cousin Audrey is the daughter of my uncle Sir Ashford Lionheart and she is known all over Lancelot my home for over the past eight years to be an aloof young woman who has had a sword in her hand since the day she was born. It still vexes me that despite being the daughter of the master-at-arms at Dragonfell the niece of a Duke and not to mention cousin by law to royalty she cannot right a simple birthday note because I quote 'Can I smash the teeth of some cunt who's trying to kill or rape me with some parchment? If the answer is no, then fuck of cousin'
I shook my head in amusement.
"Despite all of that." I say. "My sister is one of the finest young swordsman not only in Britannia but in all the North."
Atreus shook his head unyieldingly.
"I cannot comprehend such a thing."
'I see his become a man of few ways but isn't he too young to be thinking like a grandpa?'
"Sir Arthur." Dame Rosa said from my right. "I believe I have a solution to this matter you and Lord um...."
"Atreus Thyestes." I said.
She blinked then her eyes went wide.
'How could she not tell! his wearing red and black and he has a red leopard's head for a broach for goddess's sake.'
"It is an honor my lord." She cleared her throat and continued enigmatically. "How about both my lords dueled to see who's method is better. Lord Atreus's combination of insight and martial arts or Sir Arthur's pure martial excellence."
She spread her hands her violet surcoat fluttering in the cool Eastern wind.
I smirked despite myself.
'You may not be a general yet, but you sure are a damn good recruiter.' I inwardly praised myself for surrounding myself with capable knights.
Atreus looked at both me and Rosa before he said.
"I have proven the strength of my house via my eleven wins why should I....."
My friend is cut off by the sound of my father's voice booming across the entire bloody damn stadium.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF PANGEA I AM HERE TO TELL YOU ABOUT SOMETHING YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO LISTEN TO THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE FUCKING PHILOSOPHY. SO FOR THE FINAL BATTLE OF THE EVEN SINCE MY TWO DEAR NETHEWS ARE SUCH GOOD DANCERS BUT i FEAR THEIR DANCE HAS GONE ON FOR FAR TO LONG."
'His chatting shit again!'
"Father!" Amongst the stunned nobles knowing that my father could hear me.
"OH, WHATS THAT MY DEAR BOY ARTHUR WILL BE THE FIRST TO OFFER HIMSELF AS ONE OF THE FINAL COMBATANTS?" Loid said sounding emotional.
"I'll fight to father." My sister's smooth voice said from behind me.
'Impulsive!' I sand inwardly.
"OH, MY BELOVED PRINCESS TO? OH I KNEW I WAS THE BEST DAD BUT ALLAS NO! SWEETLING I CANNOT ALLOW MY TWO BELOVED CHILDREDN TO FIGHT EACH OTHER. BECAUS IT HAS BEEN DECIDED THAT FOR THE FINAL MATCH OF THIS GREAT TOURNAMENT AT THE COURTS OF MYTHRA WILL BE DRUM ROLE PLEASE."
To my complete shock the is actually a drum role.
"MY SON ARTHUR LIONHEART VS LORD ATREUS THYESTES."
'What?'
Then the world shifted around me.
