Two men fell from the sky. There were only two of them, but no one could easily move.
In that frozen moment, only Buldrokkas'tee moved. He reached out and grabbed the head of a knight swinging his sword at Kisharsinagh and Kiril.
Crunch.
With a sickening sound, the head turned to pulp and melted away. As Kisha and Kiril stared at him with trembling eyes, another knight overcame his fear and swung his blade.
"Aaaargh!"
A loud roar, perhaps to shake off his terror.
Clang!
Until the sword thrust into his body sounded like it had hit a block of solid steel.
Not a cut, not even a scratch.
Buldrokk wordlessly brought his pike down on the knight who had attacked him. Another knight was cleaved in two, rolling on the ground.
Overwhelming difference in power.
Just two men. Theresis scanned the battlefield with shifting eyes, while Buldrokk casually walked forward, slaughtering enemies.
The old man‘s eyes became bloodshot. Rage spilled from his clenched teeth, resulting in an arrow fired at Buldrokk.
Purple and black. A massive arrow, resembling the pike Buldrokk had just thrown, rushed toward the Wendigo.
"Hmph."
Until Buldrokk caught it with his bare hand and crushed it with grip strength alone.
"What... impossible."
No one could speak. Only Yujin and Sona moved to secure the children and Raquelamalin. Larin looked at the intruders with bewildered eyes.
"The Last Wendigo... why..."
The Last Wendigo. Why was the last pureblood Wendigo here?
Hearing Larin, Yujin shrugged.
"They're my friends. Even if they're incredibly late."
"So... those are the friends you mentioned?"
"Yeah, that's them."
Yujin‘s eyes were full of trust. He knew exactly what power Buldrokk and Theresis possessed.
He didn't know where they had left Theresa and Kalaisha, but their arrival was enough.
Especially at the perfect moment of need.
"Sona, Larin. Fall back and protect the kids. The enemies..."
Yujin, Buldrokkas'tee, and Theresis would handle them.
Theresis frowned as Yujin joined the fray with his sword. He asked:
"Why are you causing such a mess in Kazimierz?"
"I didn't want to... well, it just happened."
Though Theresis often seemed overshadowed by the monstrous strength of Buldrokk and Yujin, Yujin knew him well.
He, too, was one of the brightest gems.
More Sport Knights appeared, their numbers swelling. But even as the enemy gained an overwhelming numerical advantage, Yujin felt no anxiety.
"Hmph!"
Lance charge. Buldrokk took the vanguard, smashing through enemies. Yujin followed, piercing foes with his spear. Buldrokk glanced at Yujin‘s weapon.
"You learned the spear here too."
"Met a pretty good teacher."
"Is that so? Comparable to our Master?"
"Yeah."
Even at a glance, Yujin‘s spearmanship was refined. If Buldrokk‘s was like a wild beast rampaging, Yujin‘s pushed the spear to its limit within human constraints.
Knights charged in formation. Cold steel flashed, aiming to kill Buldrokk and Yujin. Yujin parried with sword and spear, while Buldrokk swung his massive pike wide, mowing down the knights.
Crunch!
The immense weight of the pike, as large as the Wendigo himself, spun. Buldrokk changed its trajectory with brute force.
The enemy couldn't predict the path altered by overwhelming strength. Yujin dodged it only because he was Yujin; ordinary trained soldiers stood no chance.
"Yujin!"
"Right!"
At Buldrokk‘s shout, Yujin stepped on the Wendigo‘s arm and leaped into the air, swatting away an arrow falling straight down. The tremor running through his sword and hand told him it was a Darkiron‘s shot.
Immediately after, a strange sound came from Buldrokk‘s pike. The sound of muscles swelling. Buldrokk hefted the pike with one hand and hurled it.
The red spear flew, piercing through enemies. No, "piercing" was an understatement. It ground the lined-up knights into paste like a skewer.
"Whew, I'm not on that level."
Watching the two monsters ravage the battlefield, Theresis sighed. He drew his sword and faced the Lazurite confronting him.
Theresis swung his single-edged sword lightly. The Lazurite wondered what he was doing at such a distance.
Sword energy dyed the tip of the blade, cutting through the void and cleaving the earth as it rushed toward the enemy. The projected slash instantly cut the space where the Lazurite stood.
"A friend asked, so I have to fight."
Lazurite groaned at the sight. Monsters, every one of them. If this dragged on, the monsters from the Adeptus would arrive.
"This is... real."
A frontal breakthrough. Sona and Kiril gaped at the absurd scene created by just three people.
With Buldrokk watching his back, Yujin ran wild like an unbridled colt. And trying to break through Buldrokk was like trying to topple a moving mountain.
Theresis simply swung his sword, but the shockwaves emanating from it shattered incoming arrows.
The tide of battle turned. The Armorless Union still had numbers, but the weight of strength was heavily on Yujin‘s side.
"You... you're even more amazing than I thought."
Breaking the arrow shaft in her arm and pulling it out, Raquelamalin watched Yujin fight.
She knew he wasn't an ordinary Sarkaz, but she hadn't expected him to be friends with the Last Wendigo.
Stripped of everything else, the title of Banshee Princess seemed lesser in comparison.
Clang, screeech!
Breaking through the rain of steel, they advanced. Yujin was exhausted, but it was better than fighting alone.
"Can you do more?"
Buldrokk assessed Yujin‘s condition. Yujin forced a nod. Kill all the Darkirons here. Break the chain.
And destroy the Merchant Association.
That was Yujin‘s duty. Having uncovered what happened here and read the memories of those who died on this land, it was a responsibility he had to bear.
Finally, Buldrokk and Yujin reached the Darkirons hiding behind the lines, firing arrows. With the massive iron gate at their backs, they had nowhere to run.
Bow and spear clashed again. Seeing the old man‘s twisted face, Yujin spoke.
"Why, keep talking. Didn't you say you get talkative when you're old?"
"You bastard...!"
Bow, spear, and sword.
Three weapons clashed, screaming. Whenever the distance opened even slightly, the old man fired at Yujin‘s head, and Yujin parried the arrows as he charged.
His body was heavy. If he closed his eyes, he felt like he would fall asleep right there.
Forcing his body forward, Yujin rushed the old man. The old man was in better shape, but a moment's lapse in concentration would mean death for either of them.
Black and platinum pushed against each other. Buldrokk glanced at Yujin while fighting the other Darkiron.
'He's exhausted. Even learning something new, he can't finish it in one go.'
Yujin pulled out different techniques as needed. He was using unfamiliar sword and spear styles now, but Buldrokk could tell at a glance that the accumulated fatigue and wounds were too much.
And fighting a Darkiron different from the old man, Buldrokk realized something.
If these people had hunted him in the city or a chaotic downtown area instead of a frontal confrontation, even Buldrokk might have struggled.
They weren't swordsmen or spearmen. They were hunters and archers optimized for hunting and biting from the shadows.
But in a head-on clash, Buldrokk would never lose. Attacks to his body couldn't bring him down, and he protected his head and neck—his only vital points.
"You... where did a monster like you come from...?"
The Darkiron fighting Buldrokk looked at him with exhausted eyes. Buldrokk continued to swing his pike, driving him into a corner.
"A friend asked for help, so I came. That's all."
"Hah, damn it."
Buldrokk gripped his pike with both hands.
Crunch, crack. Snap!
Sounds that shouldn't come from human hands echoed from Buldrokk‘s grip. The giant lowered his stance.
Like a cannon ready to fire. The Darkiron drew his bowstring upon seeing it, but it was too late.
The technique was already complete. Overwhelming power poured into the pike like a wave. A spear reaching the pinnacle in a way different from Yujin‘s howled grotesquely, glowing red.
And then, it advanced.
Like a wave sweeping the earth, to utterly destroy the opponent.
The Darkiron couldn't see the completed strike. Seeking no understanding from others, the thrust tore through the wind.
"Ah..."
Churning the earth, crushing obstacles. The Darkiron tried to block with his bow, but his head dropped.
Grind!
The rotating pike ground through the bow. It didn't stop there. The arm holding the bow, and the body beyond it. The red-glowing pike literally pierced through the Darkiron.
"Dammit."
That was the last testament of another Darkiron.
