Chapter 32 - ID CARD

The guards knelt on the ground,

overwhelmed by Ron's intense aura,

which made the walls of the stone city tremble.

Ron's words resonated in the guards' ears after he revealed the identity of those in the chariot.

Lucia emerged from the chariot with a serious expression.

"Stop, Ron...!"

Ron looked at his mistress, then lowered his gaze and removed the aura from their heads.

Maria emerged and stood beside Lucia.

Lucia spoke in a clear voice and with a serious expression as the guards struggled to their feet.

"Please excuse us, guards of the city...

We are merely passing through,

and these goblins are under the command of Lady Maria here..."

The guards stood respectfully and said in a clear voice,

"We salute the daughter of the kings of the United Lands Empire..."

A guard leader stepped forward with a serious expression and a hint of weariness.

"We apologize in advance, young lady, but we are facing some issues with a neighboring goblin tribe here... The guards have become sensitive to other beings like goblins..."

Maria spoke confidently. "It's alright... as long as you let us through, we'll ignore what just happened..."

the guard leader said, sounding worried.

"Yes, of course... but as a procedural matter,

we need an ID card, just as a formality, hehe."

Ron glared at the captain of the guard and drew his sword slightly from its scabbard.

Lucia raised her hand, stopping Ron, and said sharply,

"We don't have our identification cards with us... We didn't expect to encounter this kind of rudeness."

The captain of the guard shouted, waving his hands around,

"No, no, no, we mean you, young lady..."

Lucia was surprised by the captain's words. "Not us?... Then who are the goblins? They don't have identification cards..."

The captain replied with a worried expression and a smile,

"Actually, we mean a man in the back over there... He doesn't look like he's from another continent, so we need identification..."

The captain pointed at Karsa after saying this.

Everyone looked at Karsa, waiting for him to speak,

until Maria said with annoyance, "He's my guest, Captain..."

The captain became worried and waved his hands around,

"I'm sorry, but we'll be severely reprimanded if we allow a foreigner from Outside the continent,

entering without having one's ID checked,"

Maria became even more annoyed and exclaimed,

"you...!"

Karsa interrupted her, saying,

"It's alright, I'll give you my ID card..."

The guard captain smiled, reassured,

and Maria's annoyance was evident, but she remained silent.

Karsa stepped forward to the guard captain and said,

"Unfortunately, I don't have an ID card from Central Continent... All I carry is an army ID card..."

The guard captain sighed and said,

"It's alright, you can show me that card. After you enter the city, go to the Hunters' Guild

they will give you an ID card for Central Continent since they are the only entity connected to all regions of Central Continent."

Karsa nodded, then took a card from his inner pocket.

It was a golden circle with a single giant sun in its center,

surrounded by an orange line.

In the center of the sun was a black circle,

and on the back of the card were various strange, mixed patterns in silver.

The guard captain held it with difficulty because of its enormous weight.

He turned it over once or twice, then returned it to Karsa, exhausted.

He picked it up and said, "Thank you for your cooperation, sir."

Karsa replied before putting it in his pocket, "You're welcome... It's your job, and we were rude."

The guard captain responded with a smile,

"No, no, we were the rude ones for delaying important people like yourselves..."

Although everyone was smiling at the brief exchange between Karsa and the guard captain, Maria was in another world entirely.

Her face was covered in sweat,

and her eyes were wide open in shock,

so much so that her hand began to tremble.

She thought to herself after catching a glimpse of Karsa's identification card, "

(That badge...?!... No, no, impossible... The only being who could wear it... is... the Supreme General of the Great Sun Empire!!!)"
