Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: A Night of Strategy and Signals

Late at night

Latveria.

Renjie didn't leave immediately.

Instead, he stayed to enjoy the dinner Doctor Doom had prepared.

During the meal, the conversation naturally turned toward technology.

Renjie's alloy armor technology left Doom visibly envious.

Conversely, Doom's magical abilities intrigued Renjie.

When he learned that Doom had once encountered even more powerful magic, Renjie fell silent in thought.

Kamar-Taj.

A place housing an Infinity Stone,

protected by The Ancient One.

Facing a veteran celestial-level mage who also wielded an Infinity Stone was no trivial matter.

Most importantly—

Renjie had no experience with magic.

He didn't understand his opponent.

Attacking rashly would be a foolish, almost suicidal move.

Thus, he initially considered offering a set of nano armor as payment,

in exchange for Doom teaching him the magical system.

But, as always, the arrogant Doom balked.

He claimed his magic wasn't suitable for Renjie's training.

Self-taught and unconventional, he wasn't inclined to pass on his knowledge.

And Renjie didn't have the time.

The deal fell through.

Then Renjie remembered—he could travel to Asgard to learn Runic Magic.

The dinner continued.

After a few glasses of fine wine, Renjie explained his next plan to Doom.

When the words "Wakanda" left his lips, Doom's eyes glimmered green.

He, too, needed vibranium, to forge even stronger armor.

"Boss, if possible… could you give me some vibranium?"

"As repayment, I can use Time Magic to send you to the Middle Ages."

"The witches there would teach you better than I ever could."

"Especially when no one's watching…"

Doom's smile carried a distinctly male understanding.

Clearly, this wasn't just about learning magic.

Compared to crude, backward men of the past,

Renjie, a man from the future, was a true Adonis.

The witches would compete for his attention,

offering everything to gain his favor.

It had to be said—Doom's proposal was extremely tempting.

"Not just vibranium—I also have Uru metal," Renjie continued.

"It comes from the legendary Asgard, with excellent magical conductivity."

"On Earth, I am the only one with access to it, and it's inexhaustible."

With that, he placed a thumb-sized piece of Uru on the table.

Clang!

A chair scraped harshly against the floor.

Doom rose abruptly, unable to conceal his astonishment,

fixing his gaze on the Uru metal.

He could feel its affinity for magic.

"What do you need me to do?"

Doom didn't hide his desire, asking outright.

"You are also a member of the Injustice League.

If there's something valuable, I will naturally share it with you."

"As long as you do not betray me, I can even craft a suit of magical armor for you."

Renjie's terms were clear.

He had no intention of being sent to the past and never returning.

Doom, having witnessed Renjie's power, understood perfectly what that implied.

"As long as you don't harm me, I will never betray you," Doom replied.

Proud and arrogant as he was, he understood that following this boss promised far greater rewards.

"To friendship," Renjie toasted, raising his glass.

"May it last forever…"

Doom, seated again, smiled and raised his cup in return.

With wine flowing freely,

the dinner's atmosphere reached its peak.

Doom raised his hand again—he had arranged another spectacle.

A group of beautiful Latverian women would perform a dazzling dance for them.

But at that moment, a holographic screen flickered to life in front of Renjie.

[Android 21: Boss, we have received a distress signal from another galaxy.]

[Android 21: Source of the signal: Carol Danvers!]

A rescue signal!

It was the pager he had given Captain Marvel.

Only a few days had passed.

Even with her formidable strength, she had encountered trouble?

Renjie's brow furrowed slightly.

He could no longer delay.

He had to act immediately.

"Boss, what's wrong?"

Doom noticed Renjie's expression, sensing something was amiss, and asked with concern.

"I have a friend in trouble on another planet."

"This dinner ends here—I have far more important matters to attend to."

Renjie rose from his seat.

Fragments of black armor swirled around his body, forming the Infinity Battle Suit once more.

Under Doom's watchful eyes,

Renjie dissolved into blue light particles, vanishing into the wind.

The Ecological Planet

A world nearly identical to Earth.

Its inhabitants faced an unprecedented, catastrophic threat.

An envoy of the Planet Devourer had discovered this place.

He would guide the way for his master.

The Tyrant Envoy—one of the four heralds of the Planet Devourer—

had descended upon this universe.

But, at the right moment, a cosmic superhero appeared—Captain Marvel, determined to stop his rampage.

Two titans were poised to clash.

Yet the Tyrant Envoy had come prepared.

His battle axe, gifted by the Planet Devourer, contained terrifying cosmic energy.

Powerful enough to shatter a planet with a single strike.

Even in her Binary Form, Captain Marvel could not match him.

A streak of fire fell from the sky, striking the ground and carving a massive crater.

Captain Marvel coughed blood, rising again from the crater.

She pulled the pager from her chest, warm to the touch,

and without hesitation, pressed it.

She needed Renjie's help.

Only together could they save this planet.

"Hahaha! Woman, are you finished?"

"I've changed my mind—you will become cosmic trash along with this planet!"

The mighty Tyrant Envoy laughed,

raising his axe high to crush Captain Marvel.

But just as the axe was about to strike

the Tyrant Envoy's body froze midair.

He could not move

as if trapped in a stasis spell.

The surrounding space compressed him from all sides, like a cosmic press.

Cracks formed across his armor, even his bones creaked audibly.

His face turned purple, eyes rolling, struggling to see the dome above.

A man hovered above.

Dressed in black alloy armor, tall and muscular.

A black cape whipped in the fierce wind.

Silently floating, his gaze cold,

he surveyed the Tyrant Envoy below.

And just by his presence, the envoy felt an indescribable threat.

Captain Marvel, witnessing this,

smiled with relief and excitement.

The man she had not seen in days—

had arrived.
