ISABEL
"It's you," I breathed, the horrific realization finally settling deep into my chest. "You brought me into this world."
She simply smiled and shook her head, but I could feel a volatile wave of anger fuming out of me.
"It is where you were always meant to be," she replied calmly.
I let out a harsh, disbelieving scoff. Where I was meant to be?
"Look around you!"
She didn't even glance at the carnage, but that didn't stop me from waving my arms wildly at our surroundings. I gestured to the bloody war, the clashing of blades, and the screams of dying men. "This is what you brought me into? Why would you do this to me?"
"Isabel," she said softly, stepping a little closer but keeping a careful distance between us. "All your life, you have desperately wanted to be seen by the person who holds your heart. That is why you are here. Embrace it."
I felt hot tears prickle my eyes and stream down my cheeks. "Will I ever go back home?"
"Do you want to?" she countered.
