Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 — Even the God of Thunder Is Showing Off His Romance

"Why… are all the child members here such monsters…"

A super-genius boy.A girl with absurd psychic power.

Was the Hero League's rule really the younger you are, the stronger you become?

"Chairman, I'm bored to death. Find me something to do."

"How about sparring with me?"

"No thanks. Do you think I'm stupid? That's just asking to get crushed."

Tornado of Terror's face darkened as she spoke.

With psychic power a full tier above hers, Aiden Cross could pin her to the ground with a single finger. Tornado knew the gap far too well—challenging him would leave her completely helpless.

Just like how she herself could defeat Tony Stark with a flick of her finger.

"Fine," Aiden said casually. "Then I'll find a god for you to play with."

"A god?"

"If I remember correctly, the God of Thunder has descended."

"…Interesting."

Tornado folded her arms, genuine curiosity flashing in her eyes.

In her twenty-eight years of life, this was the first time she'd heard that gods actually existed.

Tony Stark and Child Emperor froze on the spot.

As firm believers in science, they could reluctantly accept superpowers and mutants—but gods?

That was pushing things too far.

By contrast, Annie and Mash Shieldheart remained calm. Deities were nothing unusual in Valoran or the Hall of Heroes.

Once the psychic restraint vanished, Tony pushed himself up from the floor. Thankfully, his armor hadn't suffered damage.

Still, compared to the armor, he was far more curious about one thing.

"Hey—wait. Gods… really exist?"

"Of course," Aiden replied calmly. "Many worlds have them. Yours is no exception. Didn't I tell you already? The Asgardians protect Earth from extraterrestrial threats. The one who descended this time is their crown prince."

"This world just keeps getting more insane…"

"No need to panic," Aiden added. "They're simply a race that mastered rune-based power and extremely advanced technology. 'Gods' are just a group with greater strength than most."

"…That explanation is a lot easier to accept."

"Interested in meeting the future God of Thunder?" Aiden asked. "At the moment, his power should be sealed down to ordinary human levels."

"Absolutely."

Almost instantly, Tornado, Child Emperor, and Tony all agreed.

As for Mash and Annie, having seen far too many divine beings already, they had little interest and chose to remain at headquarters.

The four entered the Hero League's spatial transfer chamber.

Aiden activated his chairman privileges, placing the transfer into free mode. Fees only applied to ordinary members.

Until someone possessed long-range spatial abilities, the transfer chamber remained the League's primary means of rapid global deployment.

"Spatial coordinates locked. New Mexico."

"Please prepare. Transfer will begin shortly. Dizziness may occur."

"Three… two… one! Spatial jump!"

Blue light surged.

In an instant, the four arrived in New Mexico.

According to the cinematic records of Thor, the story revolved around a reckless prince whose arrogance reignited an ancient war. Stripped of his power by Odin, he was cast down to the mortal world, where he would eventually learn what it meant to be a true hero—or rather, a true king.

The hammer had been discovered in New Mexico three days ago, but Aiden had deliberately waited.

A mature Thor had value—someone worthy of recruitment into the Hero League.

But an immature Thor—arrogant, dismissive of humanity, and drunk on divine pride—was unqualified.

Aiden had no intention of bringing in someone who would cause endless trouble.

You didn't have vice-chairman-level power. You didn't get to act superior.

"If my memory's right, it should be this town."

The group arrived at a small western town in New Mexico.

At this point, Thor had learned from his brother Loki that their father had fallen into a deathlike slumber—something Thor believed he himself had caused.

Crushed by guilt, he sank into despair, abandoning his former pride and resigning himself to life as a mortal.

And in the midst of that sorrow…

He started dating.

Yes—after believing his father had died because of him, he immediately entered a passionate romance with a human woman.

If Odin knew, he'd probably smash this unfilial son with a hammer.

"This guy's got it pretty good," Aiden muttered.

From a distance, they watched a diner.

Inside, the blond, broad-shouldered God of Thunder sat with his new partner, sharing a steak dinner.

Their eyes met again and again, warmth overflowing, faces glowing with happiness.

It didn't look like exile.

It looked like a vacation.

The sheer amount of affection in the air made Aiden look away.

This was beyond excessive.

This was outright cruelty to single observers.
